A New Platform [Intro Post February]
On the Train
Three days after the Voidtreckers return to the void after their adventures on the biosphere world, they are awoken by a familiar announcement.
"Good morning passengers, it is day Sixteen of the month of Jelly. Points have been updated on the system."
They have indeed, and everyone can spend the morning shopping. Those who have been on the train for a while will also be expecting the second announcement that comes a few hours later.
"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." A lurch and a jolt and the windows fill with the fog that means they are at a platform. The fog seems thicker than usual and as they step out onto the platform they will find it is cold, very cold. Icy fog sticks to their clothing, makes it hard to see very far; the atmosphere is dark and gloomy.
As usual the first to leave the train notice nothing as they walk silently, rucksacks on their backs, towards the barriers: Alexis Rhodes, Elfnein, Itsuki Myoudouin, Ken Ichijouji, MT, Neku Sakuraba, Nike Lemercier, Noctis Lucis Caelum, Rainbow Dash, Rei Saotome, Taichi Yagami, Tsubomi Hanasaki, Yuri Tsukikage and Zechs Merquise all pass through the platform, not looking back before they disappear through the barriers and into the fog beyond.
But on the platform itself there are new faces. Wearing hoodies in all four colours, in various states of confusion.
For New Passengers
At first all they can see is steam, billowing around them as they come to their senses. As their eyes adjust, they will see they are on a platform, glass and dark stone rising in sturdy arches around them. Behind them is a set of barriers, and in front of them is a single track extending both ways into thick fog.
They are standing, in clothes that are not their own and a style they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on their back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone in the white haze; then the steam begins to fade and they realise they aren’t alone.
The platform is not large with sixteen figures scattered around, all facing the tracks, all dressed in cargo trousers and hoodies. To both the left and right, tracks disappear into the mist. Then there is a roaring sound and out of the fog arrives a train. Jet black with gold writing on the side. The Voidtrecker Express. There is a hiss as the doors slide open and out step a strange assortment of people. Some are human, some are less so. Most are wearing the same hoodie in one of the four colours, red, orange, blue and purple, though some are sporting different clothes in a variety of styles.
The Train
After a short time, the doors hiss open again. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there's anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would lead to something terrible. If that is not enough, there are plenty of people on the platform now, to encourage them onto the train.
Each ICP shows the same message and next to the screens there are stacks of leaflets written by those on the train, with further information (see
'Publications'). The store rooms have been restocked with fresh ingredients, including several crates of avocados, the ingredient of the month of Jelly, as well as all sundries.
For passengers that have bought items, these are also scattered around the luggage carriage in various suitcases and bags.
New passengers will find their ticket allows them into their cabins. They may need to negotiate for beds, especially if they want a top bunk!
Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches full of spare blankets and pillows.
Departure
A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers braving the freezing fog, and the doors slide shut. Veteran passengers know what will happen next, but they may wish to brief their new companions.
The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view again as it picks up speed.
"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."
The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog-filled sky.
"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated. Entry into Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."
A shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding. As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady itself. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever-changing colours.

Yugi Mutou - OTA + One Closed
Yugi had gone to the platform, his little friend Kubfu standing by his side since he had wanted him to get as much air as the small guy could. He had made sure he had his Orange hoodie on in order to greet others all with a happy smile, which for most new arrivals might seem weird because why would anyone be happy to be here?
"Hello. it's nice to meet you. My name is Yugi. I'm sure you are feeling some kind of emotion right now, but I am here to at least attempt to reassure you."
On the Train
Once he was on the train Yugi seemed a little bit more anxious than he normally was. So for the time being he was in one of three areas:
A- Games Carriage
Yugi came to the area he pretty much lived at for the most part, looking through his deck and making some changes to some cards here and there. It was a good way to at least keep his mind focused.
B - Gym Carriage
With Yugi wanting to try and improve himself for missions in some way and the gym seemed to be helping a lot of others. So Yugi currently was running around the carriage his Pokemon friend appearing to be cheering him on.
C- Luggage Carriage
Yugi was quietly looking around the carriage for the packages that had his name on them. A frown appeared every time he came upon one that wasn't his. But soon his face lit up when he finally clocked onto two packages that had his name on.
"Alright. Found them. Now to get changed.*
Games Carriage - Closed to Kaiba
Once he had gotten the packages he needed he had gone back to the Cabin to get changed, feeling a lot better at wearing clothes that he was used to, choker and all. Once he was sure he had gotten it on he made his way, putting something into his pocket as he did.
He knew who he needed to look for, he just hoped the other was where he expected him to.
incoming fluff alert
He seemed oddly ill at ease, not fiddling with the games or testing his new projects as he usually did. Instead, he watched the room's entrance intently from his seat at the table, letting out a breath he'd been holding when Yugi's familiar silhouette appeared.
As for his state of dress...well, he'd changed out of the orange and into the simple blue and black dress suit he'd ordered from Kumoko a while ago. He'd tried to do something about his hair, he'd prepped and fretted, and the small box in his pocket felt heavy.
But he was ready. So he stood when Yugi entered, soft smile on his face.
"Hey. Was starting to wonder when you'd show up."
He tried to sound casual...it was a little forced. Just nerves.
no subject
"Did I forgot something? Were we meant to be on a date today?"
He was sure that wasn't the case, but he couldn't quite figure out why Kaiba wasn't in his usual clothing of choice and instead of the much smarter outfit.
Because of this Yugi couldn't help but chuckle slightly putting a hand behind his head. "Now I just feel a little underdressed."
no subject
And now he looks just a little shy. Unlike himself.
"I've been watching people lately, and I've been thinking...it's important to me to do everything I can with you, without regrets. No one's promised tomorrow. Do you know what I mean?"
no subject
"You mean because you never know when we could be going on. We talked about that and agreed that we would try and find a way. It's kind of why I was looking for you but then..." he said gesturing to him briefly before moving his hands back in front of him on the table.
"Carry on."
no subject
It's a simple, honest admission. He takes a deep steadying breath.
"And I wanted to...commit to you. Publicly. If that's what you want too."
He reaches into his jacket pocket and produces a small black box.
no subject
And when he heard what he had to say he seemed to stay quiet, seemingly surprised as to the words that came out of the other's mouth. He honestly hadn't expected what just happened.
After what seemed like forever Yugi could finally muster up the words and say something.
"Commit to me publicly?" That might not be what the other was expecting him to say. "Where are you going with this exactly?"
no subject
"...I thought...I wanted to give you a token. Of what you mean to me, that I'll always be with you no matter what happens."
He held up the chain, letting the Gandora-red rubies catch the light.
no subject
"I guess we actually had the same idea then."
Yugi had gone into his pocket and pulled out his own box, opening it to reveal a black titanium ring that was on a chain. "Though I guess the one I got doesn't have gems but...I was hoping if there was someone who can engrave it that can be done."
no subject
"Only if you can find blue," Seto joked. "But I'm serious, Yugi..."
He has to work past a swelling of emotion to continue.
"I'm yours. You're mine. Let's do it."
He gestures for Yugi to turn around so he can slot the chain under his collar.
no subject
Once the ring was around his next he undid the chain of the one he had gotten for the other before moving to put it around the others neck gently.
Once he was done he smiled.
"It looks good on you."
no subject
He reached up to grasp the ring between his fingers and grinned even more once Yugi was in front of him again.
"Yours too. Now everyone will know."
And he wound his arm around Yugi, pulling him up into a grateful kiss.
no subject
Upon pulling back afterwards he couldn't help but give a chuckle once again.
"I mean you have to ask. Who doesn't know at this point? Except for new arrivals."
no subject
Seto laughed brightly , sinking down onto one of the beanbag chairs and attempting to drag Yugi with him.
"Everyone will know. And that's how I want it to be."
There was a time when he was more concerned for their reputations, but...he didn't need to worry anymore. Yugi was more important. "So...shall we celebrate the occasion?"
no subject
"Celebrate in what way? I feel like you'll say a game or something since we're in the games carriage," And that was something he didn't mind at all really.
no subject
But he could be just fine snuggling like this a little longer. No complaints.
...all right, another minute. Then he'd get up.
no subject
"Plus I am now curious as to what you have done."
no subject
"I've been testing flight physics. It's the trickiest part of any game to get right, aside from water physics. I don't have the rig to make it feel like you're truly flying ready yet, and I won't for a while, but those views..."
He tugs Yugi over and offers him a headset. "Let's look at the sunset. It's the next best thing to the real thing. You don't want to miss the winged Kuribohs."
Once inside, they'd appear together floating in space. All around them, gentle clouds swirled in pastel colors, slowly darkening to twilight.
And the Kuribohs drifted by, making their cute little noises. That's what Kaiba assumed they sounded like, anyway.
no subject
Sure he knew what Kaiba could be capable of, but he still always found himself surprised since to be Kaiba always outdoes himself too with the things he does.
Taking the headset he looks at him briefly before moving to put it on. After a few attempting in making sure it was actually on correctly and he could see what the other had worked on he really couldn't help but be amazed.
"This is amazing."
no subject
"If you think this is something, just wait...a few more weeks of work and we'll have a masterpiece on hand. You've been doing amazing work, Yugi, and I want to honor that."

On the Train - B
Was Bulma typically a gym rat? Absolutely not. But with no lab to immerse herself in, and the gym the most reasonable place to meet up with her husband, she's maybe come to be here a little more often. Changed into a training outfit that's little more than a sports bra and a set of athletic pants, Bulma waves when she notices one of her roommates also jogging around.
"Working hard I see."
Re: On the Train - B
"As hard as I can. This type of thing is not a strong suit lets just say that." So he can only do it for so long before he gets a tiny bit tired, but he had noticed it's a little better than before at least.
"What training are you going to be doing?"
no subject
"Me neither, really." Bulma does work out, though it's not nearly to the level her husband or their children tend to work out. Moreso for maintenance, keeping herself as fit as she could for two kids and an extremely busy business. There's always dragon balls, if push comes to shove.
"Some midsection and legs, I think. Vegeta will be around soon enough to train a lot more intensely and probably tell me that I'm doing what he could as an infant or something." She's laughing, though. She knows she and Vegeta aren't even close on the fitness scale.
no subject
"I guess Vegeta exercises completely differently then?"
