(closed) how many times must i tell you? i only take tea with friends!
Who: Alice and friends (Allen, A-Qing, Aziraphale, Crowley, Devero, Little one, Natsuno)
When: Jelly 19
Where: Upper level of the dining carriage
What: Tea party time!
Warnings: Nothing so far, will edit!
After making sure to invite everyone ahead in time, Alice sets everything out she bought for the tea party on the upper level of the dining carriage, making sure it's at a time between means when it's not as busy in there.
And it seems like she got quite a lot. There's a box with all sorts of tea in the middle of the table, with a few teapots next to it, filled up with water and ready for whichever flavour of tea anyone decides to pick. But there's not just tea - the rest of the table is filled with all sorts of snacks one could imagine for afternoon tea. Some bread, butter and simple sandwich fillings, but also small cakes, miniature pastries, fruits and other sundries.
By the time everyone starts to arrive, Alice is already sitting there, waiting.
(ooc: this is a mingle sort of thing, so feel free to make your own toplevels and/or tag around! c: it's not just one big thread!)

"You do be needing an army."
An army of women to beat up all the stupid men. "Maybe we could be telling the train to be going there."
She'd like to see any stupid men stand up to the likes of priestess Lightning, to Wen Qing, to all those fighting women on the purple team.

Judging by the doubt in Alice's tone, she isn't so sure of that. But that's her main problem with the idea, really. Otherwise there's nothing bad to her about the idea of the train and all its.. unique passengers landing in London of all places.
In fact, after considering it for a moment and taking a sip of tea, she just laughs.
"Oh, I can only imagine the faces of the people there if they saw this whole group coming out of the train. They'd have no idea what was going on. The people there truly are unused to anything even slightly out of the ordinary."
no subject
"It would be being the same in Gauig, they would no even be understanding."
no subject
"Have you met anyone at all on this train who you thought seemed like they may be from a world similar to yours?"
no subject
Which made sense, all worlds were different. Except then there were people like Peter, where many people came from a world so similar to his.
no subject
.. it's strange, isn't it? How many things seem similar across worlds, but then there are some which are very different in every way..
But rather than saying any of that, Alice opts to ask: "And how do you feel about that?"
She can imagine some people being relieved to not have to deal with people from back home, after all. Like Alice herself. But others may want a bit more familiarity. She's not sure which side of that coin this girl falls on.
no subject
But... "I would no be minding people from my world, who I did no be knowing from before. So I could be talking to someone and no... explaining everything." She sighed. "Someone who did be speaking like a Gauigen would be being good as well."
She can understand everyone, after all neither Priestess Elena or Kant were Gauigen so she had always been used to hearing other ways of speaking, but it was not so easy on her ears.
no subject
Even Alice has found herself with that problem, and she feels like her world differs less from the ones represented here than the girl's does. Hers mostly just feels older than a lot of the worlds others come from.
"You don't have close friends from back home though who you'd like to see again?" Since the girl did specifically say people from her world she didn't know before..

There'd been street kids who she'd ran with, but they were babies and the missions would just eat them up, she'd have to spend all her time watching them and that would be stupid. Also they weren't her friends.
Taiwin had once been the closest they'd had to a friend, even if he had been sort of their guardian as well. Different than the inkeepers, less distant, more friendly. She hated him. It's a good thing he's not here.
And there is her. But she's not think about that. It's stupid.
no subject
But with the way most people on this train act, she was starting to think she was just an outlier when it came to that. This girl may be the only other person she's ran into on this train who also claimed to not have friends back home.
"Why not?" She can't help but ask. "You seem like a decent enough girl. You've got your head right on your shoulders."
Sure, she may not exactly be like most kids her age, but don't all kids that age want to be different from other kids?
no subject
Most of the people, friendship had not been encouraged by her guardians. They had been allowed to run with the packs of kids that roamed the streets but were discouraged from getting too close. So they had never really belonged.

From what it sounds like to Alice, anyway. She was assuming something more along the lines of the latter scenario - perhaps out of a bit of projection, since that was very much the situation Alice herself was stuck in.
She can't help but wonder how different it is on the train for the other girl. She does seem to - and rightfully so, in some ways - think that most people here are pretty stupid as well.
no subject
They didn't have the best reputation, though she had bashed enough heads together that they listened to her and she stole enough that they tolerated her presence.
"But they did be being stupid so it do no even be mattering."
no subject
"And you don't mind it? Being by yourself? Most people would usually appreciate having at least some people to confide in."
no subject
That's not exactly true. She's been... She's never been alone until she came to this train and the last ten months have been difficult, having to hide almost everything from everyone all the time.
She's exhausted. "Do you be confiding in people?"
no subject
"Wouldn't telling you the answer to that be as if I'm confiding in you?" It's mostly a joke, but there is a bit of seriousness in the answer as well. After all, Alice plays pretty much all cards close to her chest - including who she's close with.
After all, the people close to her have been used way too often to hurt her at this point.
"But if you want to know.. I suppose I do tell some people some things. But I don't think I've told a single person everything." .. Other than Crowley, maybe? But he's kind of involuntarily getting to know about everything, so she's not sure if that counts.
no subject
"That do be being best I do be thinking."
It was dangerous when people knew too much. Mami knew too much, but that hadn't been her own doing, mountains cheat.
no subject
And really, it's not a bad thing to teach a young girl some stuff about keeping herself safe, right? Especially when Alice has seen way too many times just how many people want to take advantage of poor kids.
"But.. not telling anyone anything can be hard too. People want to be understood by nature. To some degree, anyway." Some people are way less social than others, after all. Like Alice. "So if you feel that you can truly trust someone, it isn't so bad to tell them a thing or two sometime."
She pauses, and then adds with a little shrug: "I suppose it can't hurt either to tell someone you're sure you could kill if things go south."
Truly the most helpful advice here.
cw: idly contemplating murder via allergens
But being able to tell someone something, a few things. Especially if she was sure she could kill them if she needed to...
Could she kill Alice? Probably not. She was too strong. She had unknowable weapons she could pull out of thin air and she is very well trained.
Could she kill Peter? He was also strong, fast, had webs, could hear her coming even when she used every inch of her training. Could hear her very heartbeat. But also he was allergic to a lot of things... Poisoning him would not be hard...
"You do be giving good advice."
She bit into another tiny cake, nodding thoughtfully.
this might just be my favourite cw i've ever received in a thread
"Well, of course." She may not exactly be book-smart, but Alice does like to think she's got a lot of common sense. Otherwise she wouldn't still have been alive at this point, really. "If you can't be strong in certain ways, you have to be smart, after all."
She glances over at the girl.
"But I'm sure you have already figured out as much." After all, she's rather small. At least Alice has some physical strength, it's really more metaphorical power she lacks. But this girl has an even bigger lack of strength to compensate for.

She took another bite of cake, "Smart fighters do be living longer than the strongest person who do only be knowing one punch."
