What: Trunks needs a bit of advice. Kitty is happy to help out.

Since Trunks had started training her a while back, they had been very diligent with keeping up the schedule. They met twice a week, mostly to help her with sword-work but sometimes she wanted to try hand-to-hand as well. And she felt some pride that he'd mentioned that she was improving her skills.

It was also nice because they had conversation after, and even during training. They talked about a lot of things; what their own worlds were like, their lives back home, even just things that were happening with them on the train. It was because of moments like these that Kitty knew that Trunks was dating someone, and that she had apparently had something special in mind.

And it was this reason that they were skipping their usual training this time. The evening in question was apparently supposed to be a bit of a formal affair, and Trunks had asked her for a bit of assistance. And to get a better idea of what was in store, Kitty was currently following to see the suit that his girlfriend had gotten for him.

And despite this not being her night, Kitty was still a little excited about even just being to help out a little.

Kitty also knew that Trunks was very grateful to Cassie for her patience every step of the way. He had no experience being a boyfriend or dating. His early early-to-late teens (considering he was 19 now) were mostly filled with a lot of pent-up anger and despair. Trying to fight the androids, protect the world from more loss, then trying to prevent that tragedy in another version of his world too.

And Trunks did occasionally want to surprise Cassie, without going to her for the advice. It was part of why he was getting dance lessons with Devero, alternated with hand-to-hand practice for the other man. Kitty just seemed like a natural to ask for some help.

Trunks probably could've gone to Bulla, his sister--but he was still getting used to having a sister. He liked her a lot, but this had just come up while training with Kitty. So Kitty it was, that he asked for advice and help.

"So I was definitely planning a dinner date. We've had a lot of those, on mission and off, so besides just that apparently this is formal, I want it to be special too. Y'know?" Explaining, as they walked towards Sleeper 2-B.

She nodded, even though she was a bit behind him and he might not see. "Yeah, definitely," she replied, smiling a bit to herself. Seeing how he had talked about Cassie, and wanting to make this a special evening with her, was just so sweet.

"What kind of food does she like?"

Cassie Cage had Trunks very firmly wrapped around her finger, and it was obvious that Trunks didn't mind.

"That's a harder question than it should be." Trunks said after a few seconds of silence. "So far she hasn't seemed to like or not like anything more than the other. Our dates have been varied too."

She giggled softly. "So, pretty much anything, huh?"

"Yeah. Which is part of why I'm asking for help." Trunks gave Kitty an awkward smile. "And I appreciate it, Kitty."

"Hey, I'm glad to help." Given what she knew about him, she felt that he definitely deserved to have a good time.

"If we're talking pretty fancy, steak or pasta is usually a good way to go."

"I don't think either of us will turn down a good steak." Trunks said with a grin, as they made it to the Sleeper Cars, heading down towards Sleeper 2. "It's going to sound weird, but I was thinking of ordering a meal for 4, from the store, for us. Mostly because I eat a lot" A bit sheepish with that.

She giggled a little as she followed him into his cabin. "Well hey, that's totally up to you. I know a few people who eat a lot too, so if you can finish that much food, than go for it."

The very suit, with shoes, was hanging up against a wall. Trunks had returned the case it came in to Luggage. He really didn't know clothes, not like his mother or sister might, but he knew enough to tell this was a VERY nice suit, and it should likely be hung up, not folded. He'd already very politely asked his roommates to please not damage it, too.

"So yeah, if you can suggest any good meal ideas, please do."

Walking over the suit, she studied it for a moment while drawing what she knew from books and movies.

"Hmm...well, with a suit this nice, I'd still definitely suggest a steak dinner, or maybe lobster. Or even a surf and turf, where you get both."

"Do you think looking through the recipes here would help? If I were home, I could...well, okay I wouldn't be going on a date like this." Trunks amended, with a sheepish smile. "In the hypothetical if I were though, I'd try looking up in books or magazines."

"Maybe? I'm not sure if there are a lot of fine dining recipes, but it's worth a shot."

Trunks leaned against a wall and crossed his arms to think. It was, ironically, a position not unlike his father used a lot too. "I think if we're going a four course meal, I remember you're supposed to have a salad, something to compliment the salad and main course, the main course, and then a dessert. Probably wine too."

Kitty nodded. "Yeah, that sounds about right. With something to compliment the salad and main course, it can either be soup or bread or rolls, something like that."

Trunks was quiet while thinking for a few moments. Then he spoke "So, salad should be easy, and rolls. Maybe steak or something for the main course, with vegetables. That can't be too hard, and I know Cassie'd like it. That just leaves dessert to figure out..."

"Don't forget a drink. Wine is always the go-to for a fancy meal."

Kitty definitely did not drink, but that was one of the things she knew from movies and books.

"As far as dessert goes...can never go wrong with chocolate."

"I'm not really knowledgeable about wines, but do you think red or white would go better with steak?" Chocolate huh--a chocolate cake would be classic, but Trunks already had trouble cooking, much less baking. Maybe something dipped in chocolate?

"Hmm...I actually don't know much about them either, but I think the rule of thumb is red wine with red meat?"

That sounded about right.

"That sounds about right to me. I was thinking something dipped in chocolate for dessert?"

"Ooooh, like a chocolate fondue?"

She'd never had one herself, but she's heard about them.

Trunks blinked. "What's a Chocolate Fondue?" But the way Kitty lit up, he suspected he'd be finding out even if she didn't tell him. Trunks also made a note to order some another time, so Kitty could have some.

"Okay, so, I haven't had it myself, so I might be making a bigger deal out of it than it really is. But basically it's this pot of chocolate that you keep melted so that you can dip different things in. Fruit, marshmallows, pretzels...anything that's good with chocolate, really. But since you can dip it in the chocolate yourself, you can control how much or how little chocolate you want on it."

Trunks listens, and within the first two sentences he knows it's perfect. "Do you know how hard it is to make?" Because it would be the perfect dessert for his dinner date.

Then another thought came to him.

"If we get a chance, remind me to treat you to chocolate fondue then, as thanks for your help."

"I don't think it's too difficult to make. I think you just have to be careful. From things I've read, chocolate burns pretty easy."

Her smile brightens a bit at that, even as she shrugs. "Aww, you don't have to do that." But really, she wouldn't turn it down.

"If it turns out to be a hit, I'll definitely want to do it again. So I know I don't have to, but I want to." Trunks grinned. "Besides, I really do appreciate your help with this."

She giggled softly. "Well, I wouldn't say no to chocolate."

"I'll keep in touch about how it all goes, alright? Thanks Kitty."

"No problem. Good luck, okay? Can't wait to here how it goes."
