Dinner Date--Kazoo 5 Evening. (Closed Log)
Who: Trunks Brief
light_of_willpower and Cassie Cage
nutkrusher
Where: Corner of the Dining Carriage
When: Evening of Kazoo 5
What: Trunks and Cassie have a nice dinner date.
Warnings: Cute and schmoopy things between two people in love with each other?
Somehow, Trunks had managed it. He wasn't sure how, but he had. Sure his dishes looked messier than the fancy recipe card photos, but it was all edible and even tasty. (At least from the brief taste he'd taken to ensure it was so.)
The salad was basic, with spinach and strawberries (and some accents), but it should be a good compliment to go with the Cheesy cheddar biscuits and Prime Rib (with some veggies added). To finish it off, he chopped fruit they could dip in chocolate fondue. Thankfully the hardest thing had been the biscuits, but he'd managed with some advice. Hopefully it would be a good meal and good date.
Setting out everything but the fondue up in the corner he'd claimed, Trunks then raced to get changed into his very nice suit again. Because he'd had to prep, he'd asked Cassie to meet him this time, instead of picking her up at her cabin. Once changed, he was racing back and making sure things were set up to look fancy and nice.

She is, indeed, waiting for him when he gets back. She closes the distance between them pretty quickly, though, leaning in for a kiss.
"Mmmm...everything here looks so good."

She smiles at him - it's meant to be encouraging. Though she wouldn't put it past him to just end up blushing again.
She makes her way to their corner table.

"Kind of like my learning to dance, I wanted to do something normal for once. Without you having to show me."
no subject
"Not even sure I should be proud of myself. You just seem to be a natural."

Still smiling, Cassie reaches her hand across the table to touch his own.
"You mean a lot to me, too, Trunks. So, so much more than I ever could have expected from anyone I met here. It's...making me start to think about stuff."

"Oh. Oh, that's great! I mean, I've totally been thinking about that, too, but...I was talking more about having a future beyond this train."

"But I think what we've got is already better than anything I've had back home. And as much as it'd be just my luck for the right guy for me to be living in another universe, I at least need to know if we'll be able to see or talk to one another when this is all over."
Her hand drops toward her wine glass, but she doesn't pick it up.
"I think I might have a couple ideas for starting points."

There's a shy smile, with a hint of mirth. "You need me to show up some muscle beach assholes, right?"
no subject
She holds that smile for a while before she keeps going.
"But I'd start with showing the devices we use to communicate between realms back home. And some of the research on portals between them. Could be similar enough. And your time machine moves between alternate timelines, too. Those could both be jumping-off points."

The edges on her smile fade to something a little more gentle.
"But whatever the answer turns out to be, I want you to know that I'm all in. For however long we have together, I'm yours."

She winks and finally picks up her wine glass in her right hand. But she doesn't quite let go of his hand with her left.

"Well, you've got me curious now."
Her eyes turn briefly to the spread.
"It'd be a shame to rush dinner, though."
no subject
"Honestly Cassie, I know I've said it before, but I remember reading and hearing a bit about dates. I never thought I'd go on them. Or have a girlfriend. Or anything like what we have." Again mostly because he was so focused on saving the future.

She begins to reach for the salad.
"For starters, I've never had a date make me a whole meal like this before."

She takes a reasonable serving of salad for herself.
"I'm pretty sure you've already filled my top 5 for most romantic evenings I've ever had."
