What: Bakura believes she has seen (a version of) the person she hates above all others. Trapped in a moving tube with her. #YOMTPO (you only murder the Pharaoh once).

This was absolutely too fucking easy, and Thief King Bakura is mildly annoyed.

Everyone on this moving tomb has spots they're supposed to sleep! And they're labeled! And they keep their possessions in them, without any traps or curses to prevent break-ins! This is either a set-up or else it's the easiest damn grave she's ever robbed, and honestly, the lack of effort insults her.

Or it would, if she didn't find it so damn funny. Under the pretense of learning "her new home", she'd been able to wander the entire length of the 'train' without incident, and the quietest, most out of the way spot in which to erect a trap was full of sharp objects for cutting into people! Bakura has loaded up the flaps sewn to the outside of her - whatever this shit on her legs is supposed to be called - with various items that could be useful in a pinch, but stabbing someone is more the work of an assassin than a thief. A thief has their own ways of fighting.

Their own way of enacting revenge.

Getting the drop on the priest hadn't been difficult; it'd been thanks to him that she'd found the nooks he and the Pharaoh(?) share, a name that didn't quite match - but was close enough. All she had to do was slip into the room, rifle through their possessions until she found - sweet confirmation - a golden box with a familiar symbol upon it. This she snagged, along with the little pieces of stiff papyrus in it. No Millennium Items; she'll grant the pair that much sense. If they've got her real prizes with them, it's on their bodies.

Into the wall she and Diabound had gone, placing a few of the papyrus pieces scattered outside. Sure enough, that'd drawn the priest's attention upon returning to his quarters - and when he bent over, well, that was curtains on the first act of this tragedy. A swift blow to the head crumpled him.

The Millennium Items still have to make an appearance, which is disturbing, but she didn't knock out this guy with the face of a woman whose existence annoys her for nothing. She's left an obviously beloved memento from around his neck sitting where he'd fallen, and has placed a deliberately sloppy-looking trail of papyrus from that door to her new lair. The box....the box she kept, because she's a thief, and it's the most valuable thing she's found so far, and it'll probably piss the erstwhile owner off on top of however he feels about her kidnapping his priest, and that's worth it.

Seto Kaiba will awaken trussed up in the second floor of the triage room, strapped to a bed propped up vertically in a mockery of a stone slab used for trapping the ka of so-called "sinners". Arms and legs have both been bound with strips of red bedsheets, the pillowcase twisted into a noose around his neck to ensure he doesn't struggle too much. All of his pockets have been emptied. (She still doesn't know the word "pockets", but they're like, the greatest fucking invention. Hail the pocket! So easy to pick.)

His captor is lounging against the wall and juggling scalpels, because she can. When she sees him stir, she grabs them - managing to avoid all the dangerous parts - and sticks them back in her clothes, since if she has them, no one else does.

"Finally decided to rise and shine? I hope you're refreshed, Mister Mighty Priest."

Oh. She's still got one scalpel. Which she twirls between her fingers, casual as can be. "I gotta lotta knowledge to steal before your savior descends."

What a well laid trap it had been. He'd immediately knelt to assess cards, about to call Yugi in alarm when he felt an explosion of pain, then nothing more.

The splitting headache that greets him upon awakening is unwelcome, but it soon becomes the least of his problems. He's tied down, limbs stretched near their limit and head held still...his captor clearly knew what they were doing.

Her face was familiar...eyes wild, slasher smile...oh hell. And her words confirmed his suspicion. He glared hatefully at her.

"You're wrong. I know who you think I am, and you're sorely mistaken."

Well, color her surprised - for about a shaving of a second!

"Oh~?" Bakura cackles. "Word of my renown had reached the palace? I hadn't even brought you my gifts yet."

She twirled the scalpel one more time, before gripping it like a knife. Messing with him like this isn't actually her plan, but he doesn't need to know that. It's the mind game she's after. "Who ruined the surprise?"

SNAKES ON A TRAIN (The Fight)

Rather frankly, rather typically, Katsuya isn't doing anything of strong import when it happens. If anything he's passing through- talking to someone in the carriage hall, maybe (it's not as if they're close friends, but they can at least get along easily enough when they do chat), or perhaps even trying to keep his pokemon from causing a grand fuss over something again.

And then-

...Well then he freezes, and it doesn't matter if he was alone or not in the hall, because when you're standing stock still staring at nothing for a solid minute, people are bound to show up and question it anyway. The blond sees the carriage-

Katsuya is pale when he blinks, and blinks twice.

"Triage," he starts numbly, not even aware if anyone is actually there with him. "G- Get t' triage..!"

Peter's not near Katsuya when the vision happens, he's on his way back to his web hammock to pass the time and distract himself from all the thoughts he's been having today. The closer he gets to the dressing car though, a weird feeling comes over him and there's something he's not quite getting. It gets louder as he gets closer and the moment he registers that someone might be in trouble he's sprinting through the remaining carriages and rushes through the dressing car and flies into triage-pinpoint the noise upstairs and he's on the scene.

What Scene is he on? Well, it's not family friendly. "Holy Shit." Peter voices, feeling maybe just a little queasy.

She'd been reckless. Bakura has had a whole night to think about this, in this dull yet surprisingly spacious prison cell. Clever of them, to find a place Diabound can't escape. And she's here for what?

Because she'd valued the element of surprise too much to not act immediately. The existence of the kid she'd killed had probably been more of an insult to the legacy of the Pharaoh than the snuffing out of his life!

Ah, whatever. What's done is done, and now the waiting game begins.

Bakura is lying on her back in bed, the curtains to her second-floor medbay flung defiantly open. If she were in a kilt like she wishes she were, she'd be flashing anybody who comes in, one leg propped up on a knee while her arms rest behind her head.

Now then. Who thinks they can traffic with the King of Thieves?

Eva, for one, and by the time she shows up, her face is... blank, the mantle of Champion, of Living Legend pulled tight around her. Dancer is on her shoulder and Princess at her heels, both pokemon reflecting their trainer's demeanour.

And there's a phone hovering at her left shoulder to record everything as she enters. "Sing."

Princess opens his mouth and the air shimmers with purple energy. An energy directed towards Bakura. The song takes effect within seconds and lasts long enough that she'll feel groggy for a short while, but not enough to make her sleep.

Eva's heard it enough that she's not affected.

"I don't like doing that, but given you have powers, attacked several people and murdered one..." She shrugs a little. Under all the optimism she has, she is a realist. "So. Think of that as a warning, ok? Attack me, and he and Dancer'll attack you."

If she's honest, Lightning didn't remotely see this coming. But she doesn't beat herself up over it. With an infinite number of worlds and an infinite number of alternate worlds that are just slightly different from the former, she's long since given up the idea of writing down lists of who might have it out for who. She's not a sergeant any more.

"Hey." She slips in quietly, waving away the person she was walking with up to medical once she's in the room. Her red hoodie and braided armband might give Bakura at least some idea of why this woman in particular has sought her out in confinement. Or maybe not. She decide to clarify. "Name's Lightning, and, given you showed up in red, that makes you my responsibility. Haven't had all the details, wanna fill me in?"

Not for no reason, either. First, plenty of people want a talk- and he's not inclined to interrupt. Second?

He doesn't want to be interrupted either.

The door closes behind him.

"You gonna actually explain what th' fuck was goin' on over there, or do I have t' play cat's cradle with yer soul again?" he starts lowly, the shadow at his very feet practically roiling alongside the threat. He knows Diabound's game. He knows he can hold them, if he has to. But the point is that he's not here to fight.

He's here to talk.

Willow's got herself propped up against a nearby exit, arms folded and glaring daggers at Bakura with a knife in one hand for self defense, with an equally angry looking hawk perched nearby looking directly at the assailant. To say she's angry is an understatement, but she's keeping her fury contained for the moment. She has questions as to why her teammates were attacked, and snarling doesn't help that.

"What, pray tell, possessed you to attack others and kill one of my teammates? Some petty grudge? A thirst for power? Do you lack the intelligence or sense to see that we do not take well to such things?"

Regardless of how new Bakura is, murder should be a common sense thing of something one shouldn't do.

[One would think Yugi would learn to not speak to the person who actually killed him right after reviving the next day. But Yugi hasn't seemed to learn that lesson just yet.

Besides to Yugi it just makes him more determined to get a sense of understanding among other things. The other might not like it, but Yugi was going to show compassion regardless.

So as soon as he was able to he had gone to the gay baby jail and waved slightly.

Kaiba, the night of

Those who had come to the rescue hadn't received much of a response from Kaiba. With a broken nose, cracked ribs, a concussion, and maybe a few snapped bones...he'd been barely conscious. All he could hold onto was Yugi. Yugi, so brave and giving...and it had cost him his life.

Some restorative magic from Ann had kept him stable until Willow could see to him, and he'd been silent then too. When his eyes opened, they gazed meaninglessly into the distance. His mind was elsewhere, reliving those few seconds.

Now reclined in his recovery bed, bandages tightly wrapped around his forehead, torso, and hands, not much has changed. He still gazes into the distance, wishing to forget and knowing he never will. Another scar of failure---unmatched.

Should someone enter, his gaze will flicker to them, but he'll remain silent for now.

All things considered, Xander had kind of been hoping for a quiet night. But there was a current of unease roiling its way through the train. So the nephilim was sitting in the garden car, trying to figure out where all the sensations of unease--and worse--were coming from.

His eyes snap open once he actually pinpoints one of the major points, scrambling to his feet and heading directly to the medical car as if a fire had been lit underneath his behind.

He shoves his way in--and the question of "What happened?" he was about to ask Seto dies on Xander's lips. Seto looks horrible. He feels even worse.

Xander steps close to the edge of the bed, leaning in to gently wrap his arms around Seto's neck and give him the gentlest of hugs. Seto will talk when he's good and ready. Not a moment before. And Xander won't make him.

For once in his time on the train, Zagreus looked grim. Upon seeing Seto like that, he did try to give a friendly smile, but it was marred by his genuine concern for his roommate. (Carmate? Didn't have the same ring to it.) Instead of contemplating the finer differences between a room and a train car, Zagreus approached the bed, settling into the one chair left for visitors. It was probably the first time Seto would have seen Zagreus actually sit down willingly. Treasure the moment, Seto, for you'd be one of the only people to see it.

"He hasn't shown up yet," Zagreus answered the lingering question hanging in the air, shaking his head sadly. "Thought I'd check on you instead of leaving scorch marks in the luggage car." It was a poor attempt at a joke, but at least he's tried to lighten the mood a little. Even so, he couldn't keep up his sarcastic quips for long without reverting to concern. "How are you feeling, mate? Physically, I mean. You're not still in pain, are you?"

It takes a while for Casper to come in. Not that Seto's expecting him, but the scent of death had led him to the triage bay. He'd gotten the gist of what happened from the people there and set about cleaning. Sheets were treated, floors were scrubbed, torn sheets were disposed of... he couldn't do too much for the equipment but he'd set things in order as much as he could and fixed things where possible, then gone and cleaned himself up.

He's near-silent when he enters Kaiba's room, the shadow passing over the bed to sit next to him a better indicator than any sound. As the other man's eyes open, he gives Seto a weak smile. "... Hey."

Entrapta had noticed when she went looking for Kaiba in his usual areas, he wasn't there.

It had seemed so important at the time. Wanting to talk about her future drone ideas. Wanting to thank him for being there for her, for understanding when her mind really wanted to take things at face value. Kaiba had been a friend.

She'd seen symbols on the ICP she didn't understand at one point. It's just casual searching that eventually brings her to the medical car, rather than some sort of knowledge. She's stunned, really, when she looks inside and takes full note of the bandaging and damage. She's sure one exhausted healer will tend to everything, whatever's left after that mission, but-

"Kaiba?" She asks from the end of his bed, shrill voice about as soft as she can get it. "This is a lot worse than I was prepared for." But she comes to the side of his bed to sit, resting her gloved hands on the railing and just waiting to see if there's any response. He looks so distant...

After talking with Peter for a bit, Kitty goes over to see how Kaiba is doing. She doesn't know all the details, and she knows it's pretty late, but she feels it would probably be best to check on him anyway.

The first few days on the job as a healer and the stress of caring for the injured is still new to him and he's raw and exhausted from the last mission, but a patient is a patient. He's inexperienced, and he's not doctor Wen Qing after she was gone, but he's trying his best to care for the patient. Wearing a white lab-coat to indicate he's part of the staff.

There's a knock on his door, carrying a tray of bandages, pain-meds, and a cup of water. Peering into the door and making himself known.

"Hey. Hello, I'm one of the healers on duty and on shift now. Just...if you need anything. I have pain meds and I can change your bandages."

Peter hadn't meant to fall asleep. There were some nights where he tried to sleep and didn't manage but there were also times when he made the decision to not sleep. Tonight was going to be one of those nights he didn't allow himself to sleep because he knew better. He knew if he feel asleep the nightmares would come and he definitely didn't want to deal with that-not tonight. Not after.

However, he ended up passing out at some point once he was checked into medbay. Maybe he was far more exhausted than he'd realized. Just as he'd thought though-the nightmares did come. He dreamed about a warehouse that had nearly crushed him, he dreamed out getting caught in a parachute as he sunk to the bottom of the Hudson. He dreamed a robber that had passed by him-someone calling out to him to stop him! But it wasn't his job. He dreamed about seeing Uncle Ben in a pool of his own blood, police talking to his aunt as he walked into the house. The medical examiner was just covering Ben up with a sheet and May hugged him tight. It just got worse from there and Peter's wakes up suddenly, breathing hard and trying to catch his breath as tears trail down his face.

He sucks in a breath a looks around the darkened medical carriage, the events of the day coming back to him. Someone died. Worse-someone died a car away from where Peter himself usually hangs out. If he'd been there-if he hadn't spent so damn long waffling on how to give Tony the nanotech suit he would have been back sooner and then maybe could have stopped Seto having to watch someone he was close to die in such an awful way.

"Shit." He wipes the free falling tears off his cheek. God, he was so useless as a hero.

At some point, Peter moves to the cinema because he was absolutely not going back to sleep unless he absolutely had to. He made his way to the cinema car, chose a movie he used to watch with May and Ben and crawled into one of the seats just numbly watch.

It's not long after Katsuya 'joins' the battle that he's 'leaving' it. Bakura's knocked out. She's on her way to Medical, perhaps with the blond in tow. Regardless of if he followed or not, regardless of which medical carriage he's at by the time the energy of it all catches up however, he eventually just...

Collapses. Collapses in the hall of the carriage, head bowed, legs getting pulled close as he shakes.

He knows he'll come back. He sees that Yugi will come back. But if it wasn't for this train. If it wasn't for anything like that...

He shudders, and holds himself tight, until he realizes someone is there.

"...I'll be alrigh'," he mutters, an obvious lie. "I jus'...I jus' need..."

He doesn't know what he needs.

[In the Eventual | Within 48 Hrs After]

Ultimately Katsuya does a decent job of keeping himself from showing any tension about what all happened- which is impressive, all things considered. Even so, he's got a distant look in his eyes at times, and looks a bit like he's nursing a headache at others- and that's while holding the ponyta under one arm. It's...

"...Yeah?" It's not going great, and of course, it's not helped when he realizes there's an audience for the migraine.

1. Training Car

[The training car is a particularly familiar place for Masumi, and she's there now, taking out her frustrations on a punching bag as she tries not to think about the day that just happened.

Still, it's hard not to think about it, having felt Yugi's fear through the Jema'grethy bond, followed by nothing. She'd begun searching the train of course, but the search had taken time and she'd finally found out what happened only after Bakura had been stopped.

Still, she's upset, so instead of trying to sleep, she's up and taking out her frustrations on that bag. She might be a bit tired in the morning, but at least she's venting her frustrations on something.]

2. Library

[She still can't sleep but also can't keep beating on the punching bag, so it's off to the library to try and distract herself.

...It's not really working, judging by the way she hasn't turned a page in her book for some time. Maybe talk to her?]

The Next Day - I'm Back, Baby

[Yugi woke returned 24 hours after everything had happened in the luggage carriage. Slowly moving to get out he spent a moment or two arms crossed and just pondering over what had happened minus the obvious.

Soon a small sighed passed by his lips when the guilt started to settle in a little more. He knew what he did was stupid and perhaps not the best idea at the time, but it was all he could think of.

But then it begged the question of what exactly happened afterward and that was enough to cause worry too. So after a moment of pondering he started to look around before he planned to start going to see if he could actually find Kaiba at least.]
