Double Date Fondue Night! Kazoo 17th Evening

What: Chocolate fondue proved a hit on a date before, so now--partly as thanks for her help--Trunks and Cassie are doing a full fondue dinner with Kitty and Peter.

Preparing the cheese fondue was a little bit trickier than the chocolate fondue. Fortunately, Cassie was helping this time, so Trunks wasn't doing it all on his own. When it was close to done, one of them went to get the other couple while the other set it all up in the dining car. Central fondue pots, plates with veggies and cooked meat for the cheese, cake and fruit slices for the chocolate, and 4 long fondue forks. This would've been a meal for 4 for each dish--hopefully that would be enough.

Since Trunks had so graciously set the table for the last date, Cassie insisted on being the one to do it this time. She's got that high-class sense of style that can only come from a girl who knows how to party.

She'll be wearing the burgundy dress Trunks had bought at the end of their first mission together. She trusts she's neither overdressed nor underdressed for the occasion.

While Kitty had known that Trunks had offered to get a fondue meal for her to thank her for helping him, she hadn't expected the double date until he asked her about it before. And honestly, she had been excited by the idea; not just being able to try out the fondue dishes, but also the chance to have a date night with Peter and hang out with Trunks and Cassie.

After a bit of waffling around, Kitty decided to wear her favorite outfit, which she thought was pretty casual while still looking nice enough for a date. And as she and Peter entered the Dining Car behind Trunks, she could already pick up the smell of chocolate in the air.

Peter's feeling a little tiny bit awkward because he didn't really have any attire for special occasions. He's wearing one of the train issued purple polos and his hair is gelled slightly. He looks much better by day two and his injuries have pretty much healed aside from maybe a bruise here and there on his ribs. He's really glad he was able to make it though.

He could smell the chocolate long before they reached the car and he is so looking forward to this.

"Thank you for inviting us." He offers, always one to remember his manners.

Peter should also be able to smell cheese, and some meat scents too. "It's my pleasure. I really appreciated Kitty's help, and this was fun as a dessert. So I figured I'd see if we could do a whole meal of it. Hopefully there's enough for everyone." Trunks was likewise in his train uniform--it was close to 'casual, but dressy' as he could do.

He appreciated Cassie setting the table and doing the general meal set-up while he got Peter and Kitty. Coming back though, especially in the dining car, his nose twitched. "Besides, it's nice to hang out when we're not on a mission or training."

Cassie's opinion on what outfits Trunks looks good in has already been well-established. She's pretty sure the subject of a burlap sack came up.

She smiles. "Should be enough. Though we're mostly hoping it's enough for one someone in particular."

"I'm sure it'll be fine," Kitty assures them. She's a pretty light eater herself anyway, so there would probably be enough for everyone. "But yeah, it is nice getting to hang out just for fun."

As she approached the table, she took in a deep breath. "Mmm...who knew just the smell of cooking cheese could be so good?"

"Right?" Peter comments, moving to sit down. He would have pulled the chair out for Kitty but since it's a bench he can't really do that so he'll settle for sitting down after she does.

"I mean, I'm more used to the smell of burnt Cheese 'cause May's not great with a skillet but she tries." He says lightly. Peter does happen to be a superpowered teenager so his metabolism is enhanced which means he has to eat nearly five times as much as a normal teenager but he's also polite and isn't going to sit there and eat more than his share. If He gets hungry again he can make spicy mac and cheese or something.

"Well, hopefully this cheese isn't burnt." Trunks said with a grin as he took his own seat. "Two meals for 4 should be enough, hopefully. If not, I don't think any of us would be offended to need a snack later."

"I'd bet every point I've got left that it'll be great," Cassie says. "You did well last time. And you had a very capable assistant this time."

Kitty giggles a little. "Well, everything smells so good already, so I'm sure it'll taste even better."

As she and Peter get settled in their seats, she glances at the other couple. "So what have you guys been up to? Besides getting all this together, I mean."
