Decision Time - CLOSED
Who: WangJi and Yondu - Closed
Where: Cabin 1B
When: Kazoo Day 26
What: WangJi seeking out a co-leader for the Blue Team
Warnings: None yet. Will update if any.
WangJi had been out on his usual stroll through the cars today when he had happened to realize that for the past few days, he had not seen Piccolo. The other was usually fairly easy for him to spot so his absence was odd. In the end, he went to the cabin he had seen was his and noticed the color his name was written in. It, unfortunately, meant there was a chance he was going to be disembarking the train shortly. Not guaranteed, but a chance.
So he had gone to one of the quiet cars to think for a while. Finally, he had come up with an option that worked for him and he headed back for his cabin. It made it easy enough to find him. Eventually, he would return to the cabin if he had been anywhere else.
He opened the door, sitting down on his bunk to wait for Yondu to return.

There's only so many times you can wander the same cars over and over, looking at the same stuff over and over. He's filled some of his time with a little bit of working with the Yaka metal. Trying to plan out some reinforcements for his coat. Practicing with his arrow. Just little shit to try and keep his mind busy.
This is one of those days (which happen more and more often) where he returns to the room, this time with the book on Voidtrains through the ages tucked under his arm. It's still weird to have that empty bunk in there. It'll probably be filled soon and he likes WangJi enough to feel bad for him having to deal with that. He never actually brings that up.
"Howdy," he mutters to WangJi as he comes in, discards his coat, and scoots into his bunk, lays back and props his feet up against the wall.

But at least it didn't take long for Yondu to return so he wasn't waiting. As he came in, he closed the notebook he had using, having started to glance over it and set it aside.
"Hello." And being a very direct person, he didn't really delay it. "There is something that I wish to ask of you. It seems there is the possibility of Blue Team's co-leader Piccolo leaving the train as I have not seen him for some time. I was wondering if perhaps you'd be willing to help with leading the Blue Team."
no subject
"Yeah, I'd help ya out." He'd been happy to help in any case. But he does seem a little sad. "Didn't get to know 'im too well. It's a damn shame if that's the case 'cause I know the kids trust 'im a lot."
Or he knows Madoka did, anyway.

For all he knew, he could only be gone temporarily and not officially leave, but he didn't exactly want to be caught unaware if that was the case.

He hadn't gotten too much info. Just that everyone had suggested that he talked to Piccolo. He hadn't managed to catch up with him that much, but he still appreciated the fella's character from what he had. He still had that toolbox that Piccolo made for him. Still wondered how the hell he did it, even.

He had always struck WangJi as a good person, wanting to protect the others on the train. A lot of the younger ones seemed attached to him as well. He couldn't say if this was temporary or if he'd disembark the train, but for the younger ones who liked him, they'd probably appreciate it being temporary.

But this team full of kids are a ton easier to handle than a crew full of heathens like what he had. He puffs out a breath and pulls a face at the top of his bunk. "Mind if we get some new information on people so I know what we got? Lots of diplomacy and mobilizin' to make sure things get taken care of."
Even ones he's sat down with might have skills he don't know about yet.
no subject
"That is a good idea. We can work on that. It would be good to know especially with all the new arrivals that we have not had a chance to work with yet."
no subject
"You got real dicked over this last coupla weeks or so, didn't ya?"
Between losing one's marital support and being saddled with increased responsibility. Pretty Boy here is patient but that's gonna wear any fella down eventually.
no subject
He nodded his head once. "It seems so." The train is hardly kind. "But I am used to it."
no subject
He puts the book off to the side for now.
"I oughta get me a tablet when shit comes back around. I ordered a Kree printer so we could stay up on supplies. I know there's a 3-D printer right now but a Kree one got recycle options. How did y'all usually coordinate your mission starts?"
no subject
He was not very familiar with technology so "tablet" had a different meaning in his head, but he will trust that it is something Yondu is more familiar with and not a funerary tablet.
"That might be a good option. We would usually meet to discuss the information that we had and assist the other team members with gathering supplies."
no subject
"Ravager humor." He's a captain and fairly responsible, and he was part of a superteam, but they were all mercs and thieves. He's still crew minded enough that he does hold himself accountable for the people around him.
"I guess I should talk to folks before the mission, huh? I'll give the beansprout time to come back before I say somethin', just to be sure."
no subject
"Yes, I think it would be good to do that now. We still have a few days until the next mission, but we will pass the next platform first."
no subject
"Wanna wait until we do the platform or an' figure out if we get anyone new. Though I reckon we'd only get one or two."
They ain't exactly one of the Big Damn Hero teams, or one of the nerd teams. Sometimes they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
no subject
"Yes, I think that would be wise. We do seem to get at least a few new team members at each platform. Even if it is not as many as others."
It was fine with him. It seemed everyone worked well together each was most important.

Maybe this time everyone will be better behaved, but he's prepared to stick around outside this time in case they don't. He doesn't like telling people they can't leave, so it's hard to acquaint them with the train, but he can at least give people a hand.
no subject
WangJi had been absent last time for... reasons... so he'd missed whatever insanity had happened, but he intended to actually be outside this time to meet new people.
no subject
"So we do a thing before an' maybe talk to folks again sometime before the next mission?"
no subject
So that way, other members would know that he'd be able to assist as well.
