[Closed] We all live in a pokemon world.
Who: Eva and Jou, with guest stars Lele and Jou's rotom
Where: Coach C: Gym
When: late at night, sometime after the endless river, but before the end of the month!
What: Finally getting down to comparing their world's pokemon and pokedexs.
Warnings: Nothing? Will edit as it happens.
She'd been meaning to do this for a while, honestly. But between missions and general life on the train, it'd gotten pushed back...
And then the Endless River and the messages home and. Well. No time like the present, and she was honestly, genuinely curious about Jou's pokemon and the world they came from.
She'd waited for when the Gym was mostly empty of people, if only because there's more empty space to throw out a hologram or two.
"So, if you want, I can hook up your 'dex to Lele -like mine is- so you can do holos too?" Eva starts, with a nod towards Lele as it hovers nearby, then a nod towards the metalic red and slightly battered 'dex in her hand. "I figure that way we can display them side by side?"

"Zrrt zrrt...Hook up?"
Katsuya's rotomdex answers before he does, looking somewhat anxious as they float near their trainer. He ends up shrugging at it. "Ehh...'s long as it ain't gonna be weird, tha' sounds good. Rotom'll say if they're too touchy I figure..."
The mood hasn't been eased. "Zrrt! Wireless is an option, right??"
no subject
"Um. Yeah?" And cue the confused face as she stares at both Jou and his 'dex. "I don't think there's been physical hookups between 'dex and porygon, like ever in the eighty-plus years they've been around, which is younger than wireless. So, you should see Lele on a list of networks in the area."
Lele.... more like 'BT Glowstick Tree Monstrosity'.

For now though, the rotom deflates in relief. Katsuya just blinks. "Dang, 80 years? Not tha' th' tech in Alola was slouchin', but yer def'nitely ahead there." Far as he could tell, Alola's timeline was along the lines of his own- with some obvious advances made a little faster. 80 years back, and they definitely didn't have wireless.
The Rotom blinks the screen a few times, before buzzing. "Zrrt zrrt! Found..it?" It seems confused. Katsuya just shakes his head.
"Yeah, 's prob'bly gonna feel weird giv'n everythin'..." The dimensional differences were bound to make Something feel 'odd' on the connection. Porygon just aren't made the same between the two (not that he knows how). "Righ'- so we jus' wait t' make sure th' connection's in then?" If the connection is ready, he's ready too!
/stares at notifs. I want my pokemon tags, DW.
"I guess? It's not that great a lot of the time though," Eva says with a small shrug, not really sure what to think of the 'feel weird comment' from the rotom. Eh. Probably just a quirk of Jounouchi's world. "It's kinda limited in many ways, but it'll do for this."
The joys of her world: sometimes they are really advanced, yet also sometimes... really not. Granted, when you have pokemon, it means your tech timeline ends up more than a bit 'screwy' compared to 'typical'.
The hook up goes smoothly - Lele opening up access to the program that runs the holograms. Anything else is behind world-class firewalls and voice restricted access. "Acess Granted."
"Right," she says, flicking open her own 'dex and talking more to Jou than the rotom. "Show me a picture of a pokemon in your world and I think I can find the one from mine by sprite matching..."
Hopefully...?

"Nyh? Oh, nah, jus'..." Katsuya pauses, and then frowns. "...act'lly I can't figure out how t' explain it..." Well, if he can't sort out an explanation, then maybe it was a vision? Maybe.
(It was not, of course, but he doesn't really have a great way to say 'our pokemon being different probably feels pretty bizarre to Rotom right now')
And speaking of the world differences, Katsuya stares as Lele's system confirms access. "Man, 's so weird hearin' tha' kinda thing from a porygon, gotta say... ...Er. Pory-2 I guess." Now then.
The blond cracks his knuckles, grinning. "Heh! Got th' perfect one t' show! Hey Rotom, pull up Cl'fairy!"
"Zrrt! Got it! A fairy for the fair lady, zrt!"
Katsuya quietly and confusedly mouths 'a wha' for wha-'- apparently more baffled by the show of wordplay if anything- but quickly enough, clefairy is appearing in all of its...Extremely round glory.
"They're popular, but they're rare zrt," Rotom explains with a slight frown. "Anyone showing them off recklessly gets targeted by thieves."
