She looked up, very nearly about to correct him to just call her 'Blade', but then stopped herself. There was something in his manners (and him not knowing about washing machines) that just read as 'old world', and the form of address was meant to be polite, not patronizing.
Certainly was better than the soldiers who'd accidentally refer to her as 'sir', even if they should've known better.
"We'll start with the dark clothes first," She handed the pile to him. "You see the settings on the wash, this is what you'd consider a heavy pile, so you'd set the knob accordingly-I'd always set it on prewash, just incase. For water temperature, a safe bet is just to leave it on cold."
Until he was more comfortable, she would just go over the more simple options. They still did the job after all, and she was never a fan of making things more complicated than they already were.
"That bottle over there is the laundry soap. Use the cap to measure it out-one should be enough. Close lid, push the switch down, and that's it."
