On the Train

Like clockwork, the Voidtreckers are awoken by a familiar message this morning.

"Good morning Voidtreckers, it is day one of the month of Llama. Points have been updated on the system."

With points updated, everyone can spend the morning shopping. Most people will be expecting the second announcement that comes a few hours later.

"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." A lurch and a jolt and the windows fill with the fog that means they are at a platform. The air is sticky and warm, the windows almost immediately dewing over with the humidity outside.

As usual the first to leave the train notice nothing, walking silently, rucksacks on their backs, towards the barriers. Azula, Prisoner, Amery Vallet, Dyme Graydon, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, Yoite, Piccolo, Bulla Brief, Xie Lian, Kurosaki Ichigo, Hua Cheng, Renee Corbin, and Ran Mouri; all pass through the platform, not looking back before they disappear through the barriers and into the fog beyond.

But on the platform itself there are new faces. Wearing hoodies in all four colours, in various states of confusion.

For New Passengers

At first all they can see is steam billowing around them as they come to their senses. As their eyes adjust, they find themselves on a platform, rich wood and pale stone forming a natural, tree-like structure overhead. Behind them is a set of barriers, and in front of them is a single set of tracks extending both ways into thick fog. The air is rainforest-hot, and the sound of frogsong can be faintly heard over the drip of the artificial canopy.

They are standing, in clothes that are not their own and a style they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on their back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone in the white haze; then the fog begins to fade and they realise they aren’t alone.

The platform isn't large, and seems smaller with twenty-eight figures scattered around, all facing the tracks, all dressed in cargo trousers and hoodies. Then there is a roaring sound and out of the fog arrives a train. Jet black with gold writing on the side. The Voidtrecker Express. There is a hiss as the doors slide open and out pours a strange assortment of people, over a hundred at least. Some are human, some are less so. Most are wearing the same hoodie in one of the four colours, red, orange, blue and purple, though some are sporting different clothes in a variety of styles.

Behind them, the doors close, and the train is cloaked in the same fog that hides the world beyond the platform.

The Train

After a short time, the fog clears and the doors hiss open again. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there's anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would lead to something terrible. If that is not enough, there are plenty of people on the platform now, to encourage them onto the train.

Each ICP shows the same message and next to the screens there are stacks of leaflets written by those on the train, with further information (see
'Publications'). The store rooms have been restocked with fresh ingredients, including several crates of nori, the ingredient of the month of Llama, as well as all sundries.

For passengers that have bought items, these are also scattered around the luggage carriage in various suitcases and bags. For each member of Purple Team, a small silver box with their name on it contains a glittery cupcake.

New passengers will find their ticket allows them into their cabins. They may need to negotiate for beds, but at least they won't be alone in their confusion - since the sleeper carriages are now double-decker, and experience isn't going to avail the passengers in finding their rooms.

Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches full of spare blankets and pillows.

The new double carriage's transfer ICP is active, allowing people to move to a double room should they meet the requirements with another person, though they'll have to move their belongings themselves.

Departure

A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers taking advantage of the fresh air, and the doors slide shut. Veteran passengers know what will happen next, but they may wish to brief their new companions.

The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view again as it picks up speed.

"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."

The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog-filled sky.

"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated. Entry into Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."

A shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding. As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady itself. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever-changing colours.

I gave up crying (Closed to Jade, exterior platform)

For a moment, he's disoriented. Everything is different and strange and -

And then he feels urgency nipping him in the heels like the howl of a blizzard.

It's not really any kind of active thought that brings him in Jade's direction; however, once he's there, close enough to feel the chill, it's a simple enough matter for Asch to take a deep breath, exhale the fire ether enough to keep himself warm (the hoodie helps, not that he can remember where it came from, it's not blade clothes, worry about it later) and turn towards the epicenter.

(Fire wraps around him like a cloak, like acting brave even when he doesn't feel it, which is really what being brave is all about.)

"Jade?" It's a question, at first, because (why wouldn't Jade recognize him this time, he's a flesh eater, his memories are never going to be reset again, what is his intuition doing) while Asch has seen Jade alone, he's never really seen Jade alone, and it takes a second to process what's lacking. Who isn't here, because she'd feel this in her bones, this avalanche waiting to happen, and be here, if she were here to be.

The second time is more forceful, intended to pull Jade out of whatever hell he's experiencing. "Jade."

And Asch steps close, not touching yet, but fully aware he might need to, fully prepared to grab Jade by the hand and drag him - wherever he might need to go.

Even into resonance, if he has to.

(Some people's bravery is burning themselves for the sake of others.)

I gave up waiting (Closed to Luke, interior train)

Ice hums in his core, in the back of his mind, unsettled but okay for the moment. It's not comforting, exactly, but Asch keeps finding himself running a mental hand over the resonance, like it's a new tattoo you can't stop touching. (He can't help but wonder what marks it's going to leave.)

But Asch can't settle, something driving him to wander like a bad itch. He's looking for something, he'll know it when he finds it, he's almost used to this. It's the way he was made. (The itch of intuition, or the inability to rest? It could be either. Could be both.)

As usual, he finds it almost by accident, if anything about his life was to be an accident. A shock of red hair - it's too short, the hair, but the overall look is right, and so his breath catches -

"Luke?"

It's not right, there's not the answering hum of an emotional bleed (of course not, there wouldn't be, he's on resonance with Jade now, and Jade's about as far from Luke as it's possible to get), but there's also not the hum of ether, not in the right way for a blade -

But it's not wrong, either. Asch knows that in his gut, even if the question comes out uncertain.

Of all the damned places to have a reunion - in the hallway of a crowded traincar, both of them in supernaturally sourced hoodies - but it's not. Quite right, still.

Luke's hands, unlike Asch's, are bare. (Asch found his gloves and put them on immediately, grateful to the long sleeves that covered the rest of his arms.) Luke's hands, unlike Asch's, are bare, ether-line-less and callused. Luke's hands are human.

Well, what the fuck is he supposed to do with that.

But foremost, this is still some version of his brother, and so Asch's voice is more gentle than Auldrant's Luke would have any reason to expect, as he asks, "Are you okay?"

I gave up dreaming optimistic dreams (Train, open, several hours after everyone's loaded on)

After all of that?

Asch takes a fucking nap. No one gets to judge him for this. Roommates in Lower 2C will probably spot him there, buried into his blankets as deeply as possible with only red hair visible. They probably will not catch him while he's awake, but both Allen and Takato will find notes attached to their bunks after Asch has left - You're going to want extra blankets from now on. I'm very sorry. I'll do my best to mitigate it.

And then he slips out into the rest of the train.

Generally, he keeps half a thought on Jade - while Asch isn't exactly a pocket-blade who needs to be attached to his driver at all times, it's entirely possible to encounter them together if your timing is right. Or for one of them to come find the other, if there's distress (more than the situation's baseline) in the emotional bleed.

Truthfully, though, Asch prefers working alone. Working alone makes it easier to tug just a bit at dark ether to go unnoticed.

It's not actual inivisibility. People who are inclined to watch carefully, or people who go through such manual thinking as taking a literal count of every person in a room would still notice that he's there. But the eye tends to slide over and dismiss him, even though his hair is as vibrant as any Official Red Team Gear and looks accordingly godawful with the Blue Team hoodie he's wearing. Anyone with the ability to sense magic would feel the faint trickle of dark-elemental energy rolling off him. He just doesn't want attention while he's investigating and potentially listening to conversations without being noticed.

Occasionally, however, he steps 'out' of the shadows, dropping the blade trick and thus seeming to come out of nowhere. Occasionally, to really get someone's attention, he does the opposite - a faint hint of light ether that calls attention to him before he speaks. Chances are, it's with questions of the 'just got here' variety.

Casper's sewing in the standard car, finishing up the touches on what looks like a plush star made out of space-patterned material. He has to sew this ribbon on so it can be hung up...

Ah.

"You can come out. I'm not doing anything interesting, so there's no reason to be invisible." He'd noticed the odd way his vision seemed to slide over... it's a neat trick. "I'm kind of impressed, I almost didn't notice you. You're even masking your sound and scent."

[Arrival]

Caleb Widogast is not a man unaccustomed to stepping from one place to another. He can draw teleportation circles, after all - and his new tower is similarly strange from one moment to another.

What is strange is where he is. And what he's wearing. And this... bag of some odd material, and not being in Zadash, and the rest of the Nein are -

He takes a deep breath and snaps his fingers. Frumpkin, where is - ... he's not here.

It's that thought - that he's somewhere alone and wrapped up in strange material and too hot and too disoriented - that has him breathing deeply, clearly trying to stave off a panic attack while he tugs at the purple hoodie, trying to get it off.


[Room 1:A Lower]

The strange paper that he was given said that he was staying here, so he stands in front of the door, attempting to open it. He faintly wonders if he should cast a spell to open it and takes the paper out again, waving it in frustration -

Ah. Passing it over that strange tablet seems to have done the trick.

He steps into the room and is somewhat bewildered by what he's greeted with - literally none of this is familiar to him.


[Wandering]

This entire... carriage? It's strange and full of strange people and strange items. He starts wandering, his bag over his shoulder. It has his spellbook - he doesn't want to leave it, just in case. Pretty much every carriage is getting investigated, rom the luggage to the storage. Anything he doesn't understand is getting analyzed as much as he can, occasionally writing notes in the train-provided notebook.

Arrival

"Caleb!"

Beau's voice rings sharp and clear over the confused din, and despite her small stature, she manages to give off the air of a humanoid siege engine as she hurries towards the one familiar face she's spotted in this sea of what the actual fuck is going on here. Hopefully there aren't any bruised ribs involved in the process.

She checks her temper as she gets close enough to see his face, and his hands scrabbling at a strangely constructed shirt that matches her own - she underlines the mental note she's already made to kick the ass of whoever decided to change their clothing while they were unaware - and mutters a quiet, "Shit."

This isn't the first time she's seen him on the precipice of panic. It's the first time in a long while. And while she sincerely doubts the strange, scratchy novice gear is the real issue here, fuck it, at least that's a problem that can be addressed.

"Hey," she says, forcing her voice to a steady register, and reaching one hand out towards him. "Let me help. Hands up."

Platform

When the fog cleared and Leia found herself suddenly not in her residence in Kaliste, but instead standing on a train platform in unfamiliar clothes, her first reaction was probably not what one might expect. Instead of fear or confusion- well, OK, there was some confusion, but not nearly as much as there probably should be-, her reaction was primarily one of mild exasperation. "Well, here we go again," she muttered to herself with a bit of a sigh. She had hoped that her 'vacation' would last a bit longer...

Still, there was no point just standing around. Before she did anything else, she paused a moment to set down her rucksack and strip off her hoodie, as this place's climate bore a strong resemblance to Yavin IV's. She stuffed the hoodie into the rucksack, then closed it again- making a mental note to examine its contents properly later- and took quick stock of her surroundings. She scanned the crowd of people for someone nearby who didn't look too confused, then approached them, intending to ask a few questions. Time to figure out where she was and what was going on.

Settling In (closed to roommates)

Leia checked her ticket one last time, matching it against the cabin number on the door before her: Upper Two, Cabin E. She nodded in satisfaction; it looked like she'd found the correct one. She also noted the other names listed as occupants of the cabin. Two were male names, ordinary enough ones by Earth standards if she recalled correctly; she'd have to find out which was which if they weren't inclined to introduce themselves at first. It was the third name that raised an eyebrow though. She was rooming with... Death? It was likely a measure of the tolerance for strangeness that life in Nautilus had given her that this fact didn't cause more than a raised eyebrow, but given her current state in her own galaxy, it was a bit funny in an ironic sort of way.

She swiped the ticket on the scanner, and the door obediently opened up to admit her. "Hello," she said to whoever she found there, smiling slightly. "It looks like I'm your new roommate." A quick glance at the sleeping arrangements, and she added, "Is one of the lower bunks still free? At my age I'm not especially keen on having to climb a ladder to get in and out of bed."

Exploring the Train

Once she had her things put away, Leia decided to take some time to explore the train that was apparently her new home for the foreseeable future. Since the sleeper cars were closer to the back of the train, she headed to the rear first, and then began gradually making her way forward, taking note of each car's features, purpose, and available facilities as she did so. The purpose of most of them was thankfully fairly straightforward, so she didn't need to linger in cars where she might well be in the way of people trying to get things done or who just knew their way around better, but she did stop awhile in the spa car- it had been a long while since she'd seen the inside of a spa, and made note of a few of its amenities to try later- and the greenhouse car. It was a bit too well organized to properly resemble it, but walking among the greenery brought to mind fond memories of spending time with the Fourth Doctor in his own greenhouse and the medical bay, which sometimes also resembled one. He would have been glad to see such a feature included.

When her basic exploration of the train was complete, she got herself a cup of tea from the kitchens and headed to the library car to try and find a good book to read. Tolerance for strangeness or no, the chaos surrounding getting dragged across time and space was tiring, and she hoped to get a bit of a chance to let it all settle a bit before really getting into things the following day.

Someone might have floated over as soon as he saw her. He might have also been floating over everyone's heads, so you know, her being short didn't make it as hard for him as it might for others.

"LEIA!" he called as he floated closer.

Would she remember him? Zelda hadn't, but Nita and Link had. Well, he'd know soon enough!

He floated down to eye level with her, smiling brightly.

Investigating the Sleepers

This is incredibly fascinating! She knew the train was capable of spontaneous generation, but actually seeing the results of it is incredible. She's wondering if said spontaneous generation has something to do with thought transference and creation at this point since no one has actually perceived a change occurring to her knowledge.

It's difficult for a scientist to not observe what should very much have been observable, but all you can do is take in the before and after of a process that she didn't get to be privy to. That would have been so exciting but she'll have to just take this instead.

The sleepers have small hallways and are difficult to navigate, so someone making their way to their room might suddenly have a girl holding a scanner-tablet stilt up high on her hair, all the way to the ceiling, to make room for them to walk under her.

"Excuse me, sorry! Just taking new measurements."

Tiny Food in the Dining Car

Entrapta's sitting with a brightly colored smoothy that she made for herself, her head in her hands and her hair turning pages of her journal as she looks over some of her robotic designs for Claudette. She should be able to install her First Ones crystal sometime soon! It's incredibly exciting because after that Claudette should be able to self-repair.

Which she's more hesitant to inform some more fearful people over, but she's still much more sure the flesh and blood people are prone to corruption than the robots with simple failsafes. Squishy brains are more confusing for her.

She has a half-eaten sandwich beside her- actually, a full sandwich is the wrong term, because she cut the bread into squares and added the ingredients to each individual bit like she was making four tiny sandwiches. It's not one whole sandwich that she cut apart. And she has three small teacups of soup to go with it.

A questionably hearty meal to fuel an eccentric mind. The straw makes an obnoxious bubbly noise as she notices someone come in, and she gives them a sharp but friendly, "Hi!" and if they're new to the train? "Kitchen and food are that way." She points with her hair.

Tiny Food

Leia smiled at both the greeting and the directions, giving the younger woman a little nod and apparently not surprised at all by the fact that the directions were being given with mobile hair. "Always good to know, thank you," she said. "I was just headed that way; been working my way up the train from the rear to get the 'lay of the land' so to speak."

Upon getting a little closer, she noticed the plans Entrapta was looking at. "Planning to build a droid?", she asked.

What the hell on the Platform

Yondu rarely stays outside for longer than necessary. He doubts that today'll be different. He needs to get in, get his item, go install it, just get it over. It's just mistier over the train than usual. He can't see a damn thing and that's discomforting. So he just stands thinking about the the parade of people fucking off into the mist creepily, how he actually knew a couple of 'em this time, and just waits impatiently.

And then it clears, and the sleepers are taller.

"What the heeeell?"

He wrinkles his whole face up, sharp teeth bared in the most confused grimace as he tips his head back to look up at the sudden double decker layout. Oh no. What fresh hell is he gonna get back in there and see. That's gonna have to be investigated before he wanders off to find what he ordered.

Installation in the Standard Car

Yondu's finally got the device he ordered. He knows enough people that have been in need of mechanical parts and bottles and what the hell ever for their various batches of train busywork that he decided to go through with orderin' it. But installing it is turning into a bit of a chore.

Someone might hear the passive, bored whistling before they see him. It's melodic and he's good at it, lots of vibrato, ranging from the little bit of classical music he's picked up in the music car to stuff he's found that he thinks Quill would have liked. He's half under the computer desk, leather space pirate-biker looking uniform clad half poking out from under it with the chair moved off to the side to make room for him while he goes through the motions. A round connector rolls out from under the desk where he's working, and someone who isn't expecting it might be surprised to see a very blue hand (maybe not surprising, since the blue population is higher than one would expect) reach out and flail around in search of it.

"Oh goddammit, can ya hand me that?" he asks the person. He can barely make them out as vague silhouette from his vantage point.

The runaway part lifts with telekinesis and floats over to bump into Yondu's hand, where he can easily grab it. Ghost considers before dropping to take a seat next to the desk in question. "Nice bit of equipment. Is it what I think it is?"

Because if you have gotten them a 3D printer, then you're his new favorite person.

I. The Usual Morning Activities - Kitchen Car

Platform day in the morning always means the same thing: Soldat in the kitchen car bright and early, working harder than usual to get breakfast done, lunch started, and a few batches of cookies for the new passengers ready for baking. Today they're bopping from counter to sink to oven to counter again to the sounds of some pretty bright pop music rather than the typical jazz.

As is often the case, their little glowing ghost figurine floats along the counter between trays and mixing bowls and things, occasionally rattling plastic chains at Soldat (or anyone else nearby) for attention.


II. A Sad Platform - Platform (obviously)

"No," Soldat says, as the doors open and Prisoner walks right out. "Oh, no."

For the first time, they follow a leaving passenger, actually trying tentatively to catch his arm, to get his attention. They stop at the barricades and stare after him in consternation, watching others they actually know and like leaving, as well. Prisoner, gone. Yoite, gone. Ichigo, gone. Renee, gone. The young man Dyme who had clearly wanted the other version of them, gone. (It's not quite as terrible seeing the man with their own face leaving, maybe.)

They take several long minutes to drag their attention away from the vanished passengers and to the new. They don't try to dredge up a smile, but they do look for anyone particularly frightened-looking to see if they can help.


III. Welcome Wagon - All Over

With their purchases tucked safely away-- most of which was for the storage car anyway, for prepping mission meals-- or delivered-- in Ghost's case-- Soldat collects their various batches of cookies, piles them attractively on a platter, and sets about prowling the train once it takes off. They're putting the sadness aside, for now. They're going to help people. That always makes them feel better.

"Hey," they tell new people with a small smile and an offer of the plate. "Doing okay? Anything I can do to help?"

Older friends get offered cookies, too, though the smile isn't quite as good.


IV. Post-Welcomes - Music Car

Frankly, they're not sure what they want to do, come evening. They should be used to loss; they lost so many, so many, people in Beacon. They (sorta-kinda) came to grips with the people they knew back when they were a person all being dead now. All of those were people they knew longer, loved harder. But it's still hitting them hard, today.

So they skipped training tonight, and instead they're sitting at the piano, alternately plunking tunelessly at the keys with metal fingers (maybe occasionally wandering into a melody, mostly by accident) and turning to fold origami on the piano bench next to them. Come cheer up the sad murder machine, somebody.


V. Wildcard!

After platform day, Soldat settles back into their standard routine, and they're really easy to find. Want cooking lessons or a free snack in the guise of a taste test? Here's your chance, find them in the kitchen working steadily away on meals for the upcoming mission. Want fighting (or falling) lessons? Find them in the evening in the training car. Want origami lessons? Standard car. Really, they can be just about anywhere, listening to music on their tablet or making origami or just quietly watching people.

Ken is not a morning person, but he'd hauled himself to luggage and then all the way over to medical, so he might as well walk a few cars to the kitchen. He rubs his face at the sudden explosion of music and instantly realizes who it is who's there. He wanders past and goes to grab some coffee before staring at Soldat.

Clef - OTA

((OOC reminder for all headers, Clef looks 10 or 12 years old and is in his actual canon outfit, complete with staff taller than he is.)

Platform

Was Clef ever happy to be out of the library? Well, rarely, not never. After all, last platform he left and found his boy was here! There were only a few people he was looking for now. So he figured he'd make a quick pass through, then head back inside to research.

He was, as usual, floating on a spit of grass over dirt contained inside a transparent pastel coloured bubble.

Library

This was as close to a home as Clef had here, and as usual, he could be found perched atop the very large rock that he built in such a way as to block no shelves or passage ways. Magic is useful like that. The rock was set so that when he sat he was at eye level with the average adult human.

As he often was, he was surrounded by books. Floating books. One was before him, and one off to either side. The book to one side was turning pages on its own at the same rate the book before him was, and blank pages were being filled with identical text and diagrams from the one before him. The book on his other side was a notebook where he occasionally jotted down points of interest. But he would - sometimes - notice when someone came in and would pause to give them his attention. Some of it, anyhow. He hasn't read this book yet and it is fascinating.

Masumi Sera | OTA

1. Platform

[Masumi knows that there's nothing she can do when people leave at the platform. She knows this, and yet she only just stops herself from going after Ran as she leaves. It's only the thought that she might be returning home that brings her some comfort, and even then it's not great.

Once she actually gets to the platform herself, Masumi tries to put on a happier mood and distract herself, but it isn't really working that well. It's clear she's upset by her friend leaving.]

2. Dining Car

[Not even the free cupcake is enough to cheer her up, and Masumi can be found picking at it in her funk. If approached, she'll give a very quiet "Hey" and look to see who it is before trying to look like she wasn't just worrying about her friend.

No, she's not pulling it off very well and she knows it, but she's trying. After all, it's platform day and she doesn't want to dump all this on some new person.]

3. Sleepers

[You know what does bring her out of her mood? Having to find her cabin again. Thankfully it's not that hard, having only moved to the new upper floor of sleeper 1, but it's a surprise no less as she takes the time to look around the altered (and new) cars to see what's up.]

Bet this is going to cause confusion for people trying to find their cabins...

The Platform

The passengers are ushered out as usual, and amid the din about her one thing in particular catches Zelda’s eye: the not-quite-tree hanging over the platform. A quick change of attire and she’s quick to take advantage, shimmying up the structure to see if she can get a better view.

The climb is unpleasant. She’s made worse, but not in the months she’s been on the train- and it’s made worse by the wet heat prevalent near the ground. But she keeps climbing, patient and methodical, until she pulls herself up to the top and takes a careful look around.

Well, no luck- the fog shrouds the world outside the platform as effectively above as below. Zelda feels a faint stirring of disappointment, but it’s soon subsumed by the pleasure of being up here in the first place. The achievement’s something, after all this time without climbing, and she’s always liked heights for their own sake.

Besides, up here the air is refreshingly crisp. After a moment’s thought she shrugs, taking out her ocarina and playing a few practice notes. Perhaps she’ll remain up here for a while.

Luggage Carriage

“Is this right?” She questions, looking down at the bottle in front of her. It’s not Hylian-make, which is a pity in its own right- those bottles are impossible to destroy- but it looks different enough to make her doubt for a moment.

Slowly, Zelda opens the bottle and takes a sniff. No, concerns alleviated. This is Blue Potion, sure as if she’d just seen it in the Kakariko potions shop.

“Yes,” she mutters half to herself and half to the train, “I apologise for doubting you. Still, might you consider a better set of glassware next time? These things will never survive a volcano.”

Ken Amada (AU) | OTA

Ken goes to the luggage car right away to pick up his package, looking a little hesitant as he does. It's not that most of the items in there aren't useful - they are. But the contents of one of them...

With some hesitancy he walks all the way back to medical, most of the contents already tucked away in his bag. The small box rattles a little as he walks, which will take a while - if anyone wants to stop him on his way he's not going to complain all that much. He's hoping Vexen is in Medical to save him the trip of looking for him, but when has his luck been good? It might be too early in the day for that, anyway.


[Platform]

Ken doesn't like being out on the platform. He's wearing an orange hoodie despite being red team, so he knows there'll be some confusion there. He does his usual scan first for members of Strega - and then for any members of SEES. The lack of the former is disappointing, the lack of the latter is encouraging.

Still, he mills around a little bit, so if anyone wants to ask him something before he boards the train again they're more than welcome to.


[Practice]

Just because he's frustrated doesn't mean he shouldn't practice. In fact, it's even more reason why he should practice. Ken's found easily in the training gym, but his isn't the only figure in the gym while he's there.

He's brought his duel disk with him, and he's summoned the image of a dog with black wings attached to him. The hologram doesn't seem to emote all that much, but it sits there while Ken practices stabbing the dummies with his spear and swinging around the handle of the weapon to kick dummies over before setting them back up again.

Vexen is in medical, though what he's doing might seem odd. He has a box full of seed packets and bulbs open on a desk, alternating writing things down on a sheet of paper and typing on a strange looking laptop with glowing lines running along the shell. Whatever the plants are for, he looks rather pleased.

Najaran - Ota

((OOC note: Najaran is wearing a short dress with shorts under it, a heavy gold and purple belt, a small capelet, and small stud earrings. She also has a pouch hanging from the back of her belt, and is carrying what looks like a walking stick with a man's face craved into the top, looking outward. This face has a drooping mustache that seems made of actual hair.)

Platform - before (before what, you ask?)
Najaran loved platform day, though she hated to see friends leave. But she always had a plan fo the time, and usually that helped her get over it. Today was no different. She could be spotted looking for a spot, usually the furthest area from the train, that is clear of people. Feel free to ask her why. Unless, of course, you already know. In which case feel free to join her, watch her, or run screaming back onto the train.

Platform - During (This would be the what)
Having found a space just large enough, and warning those at the edges they might want to stand back. Then she reached behind herself and several cards flew out of the pouch dangling from her belt and into her hand. She threw them into the air where they burst into light.

There was a large suit of armor that was large enough for her to ride on the shoulder of - this was obvious because once it appeared, she climbed up and did just that.

Larger than the suit of armor was a massive nightmare creature, that settled against a massive stone wall with a face. There were other creatures, but after those three, even the rideable flying dinosaur/dragon hybrid and the nearly human-sized living weapon looked small. Then there was Cait Sith who was, at the size of a small clild, small. Of course Eidolon and Gremlin were actually small, the first sitting in her lap, the other perched atop her head. And she would spend nearly all the time till she had to get back on the train, moving between the shoulder of the armor and sitting on his leg, or on the other big one's leg, or on the ground, or leaned against the flying one, or in the air on the flying one, just... hanging out. Like these odd things were friends and they were just having a day out.


Platform - the after

Najaran summoned her creatures back into her cards and was heading back to the train, but would stop to chat with anyone who still needed help or just looked like they could use a friendly face. Warning, she will probably drag you off into the kitchen for food. For you and for her.

Platform - during and after

Luke is one of the new arrivals, wearing a red hoodie as bright as his hair. When he noticed her, and he was warned to step back, he watches as she pulled out a deck of cards burst into a bright light to turn into monsters.

He's about to reach for his sword when he realized the magic cards and monsters are under her control.

"Wow, you could do that? Summon monsters and they listen to you?"

Senku Ishigami | OTA

I. Platform

This time, there were quite a few people leaving that Senku knew to some degree and he could acknowledge that he was going to miss them. Like departing companions before he planted his feet and raised one fist in the air, their silent wish for safe travels from the Kingdom of Science. Senku would watch them depart, offering the utmost respect before proceeding with his experiment.

He pulled off his SCA and waited out his requisite 300 seconds. Anyone approaching at this time may find this to be strange, but as long as they are speaking a language Senku can understand, communication will go well. If not, Senku will at least advise them that once his five minutes has elapsed he will be more than happy to talk, as they can understand him even if he can’t understand them.

As always, on platform day, Senku is in his orange t-shirt and black cargo pants. Notably, his hair is now too long to stand up on its own. He has it tied back into a ponytail, secured with a piece of rope that has a bit of a stylized knot on the front of his ponytail, the top of his head. One one wrist he has an SCA, on the other a wedding band, and lastly a pendant dangling from a chain on his neck. The latter two he likely won’t be seen without again.

II. Double Room

After reading the requirements, Senku was pleased to learn he and Gen qualified for one and dragged him over immediately to apply.

Application accepted, he could be found going back to his old cabin to pick up the few things that he kept in the room, or he could be found walking back towards the double room assigned, arms laden with a purple and green blanket with an adorable two tailed pink kitten floating along beside him.

Orion was getting better at floating with a purpose, Senku only has to reach out an wrangle him a few times.

III. Shopping

Compared to the last few times, Senku wasn’t actually looking for that many packages, only eleven. Five were books, easily identifiable.

The rest seemed to be in boxes.

Senku leaned forward a bit. “Could you pass that to me?”

IV. Come Get Free Food

Platform day seemed like the best time for Senku to pull out his leftovers from his wedding. He’s got a pot on the stove with a delicious bear curry, enough for probably thirty people, and a simple, hearty fish stew that there’s enough for about twenty people left. There is also several pieces of warmed flatbread and half of a wedding cake.

Senku wasn’t too far, he was keeping an eye so nothing burnt.

“I can make you some tea too, if you’re looking for a meal.” He commented easily. The leftovers would remain there for awhile, until they were all gone.

V. Experiment...(aka platform day is really busy)

By the afternoon once everything else was sorted, Senku can be found in the dining car. He was sitting at a table on his own with a sign – he did borrow a sheet construction paper from the art supplies – he’d replace it later. Aside from that, there’s a bottle of clear liquid sitting on the table, closed.

The sign read: HELP WANTED

Senku himself was leaning back and reading a cookbook of all things, like it was some kind of novel. There was a benefit to having an eidetic memory.

Prompto was there in all his purple glory, and he had his camera out. He wasn’t terribly interested in the people though, no, he was taking a picture of the fog.

Nothing like a little mood setting, right?

If anyone approached, he’d smile brightly. “H-Hi!”

II. Shopping Time!

He didn’t know how the points worked but he was definitely pleased to find the things he ordered on his own.

Prompto had another huge weapons case and a bag with his clothes to find. Shouldn’t be that hard, right?

He also found a mystery box that contained...a cupcake!

"Oh cool." He grinned brightly. He'd have to share that with Noctis later.

III. Training

He found himself feeling antsy.

Prompto made his way to the gym, finding himself wishing had more comfortable clothes...but he did! He turned around and went back to his room quickly.

He changed into his Crownsguard fatigues and came back looking a lot more comfortable even though he looked like a teenager with a punk aesthetic. He could swear he was an adult and everything!

He bounced a few times and began to stretch himself out. After he was satisfied, he began to run laps. It was a great way to clear his head.

So he might have used the guy as a spring board to launch himself at Leia. And he might have to pay for that now... He would be avoiding Vexen, but honestly he didn't really notice WHO he had used, just that it wasn't someone he knew well - if at all - and he wasn't going to avoid everyone. You never knew who might be able to create fish, after all.

After a moment, her face falls a little - the ginger cat is definitely not who she'd been hoping to see - but she crouches down anyway, stretching out one hand to wiggle her fingers, with the nigh-universal "Pspsps" that is human for 'come here and get scritches, kitty'.

I. Platform

Demyx would avoid this part if he could. He didn’t know what it was about the whole experience that left him feeling tired and mildly frustrated. It was not really visible to anyone, he was just smiling. Because of his misfortune with the random outfits, so far, he was still mostly wearing his uniform. He had on an orange polo and black cargo pants. What he had added, was his black Organization coat, which was completely unzipped and only worn overtop as a favour to Vexen.

He wasn’t really looking like the welcoming type so much as he was lurking on the edge of people. He couldn’t help it, he was used to blending in the background.

II. Shopping

He had tried, yet again to get an outfit he would like from the random selection. Sure, he could order his own clothes but he didn’t know what he wanted. He wanted...not what he was getting.

Demyx would find the bag easily enough and let out a whoop. “Yes! Cool!”

He was also, again, looking for a pair of books wrapped in paper with his name on them. No, he hadn’t become a reader, they were thin, yet more sheet music. He was taking the opportunity to devour as much of that as he could.

III. Music Room

It was always going to end this way, wasn’t it?

Demyx was still going to the music room every day and spending an unhealthy amount of time in there. Maybe, just maybe, it was time for someone to drag him out of it.

Otherwise, he’d be sitting there with his sitar on his lap, tuning up to play a song.

Music Room

Yondu spends a whole hell of a lot of time in the music room. He's always on the search for new songs that Peter might like. Today isn't much different.

Sometimes he finds people actually performing, though, and he stops to listen. He doesn't have a perfect memory exactly, but one of his natural talents is picking up a tune. He sticks around long enough to try and work out patterns.

"That one of yours or one from home?" he asks. He saw him during the fight against the demons, vaguely knows he knows Vexen, but that's about it.

I. Platform

This was nothing short of a disaster.

Rui found herself coming to awareness standing on a platform in clothes she definitely would never have chosen for herself. Orange was not her colour. Her chest ached terribly because she was meant to be resting in her partially healed state. Outside of the inconvenience, she definitely did not feel like this right about.

Without her makeup and clothes she looked like an ordinary young man, which was vexing enough. The only potential clue out of place were some perfectly manicured nails painted red.

She stepped back a few paces, grimacing and then pulled the bag off of her back, digging through it to find her tablet. She did not find her tablet, but did find her NOTE. Well, that was something at least. She pulled the purple NOTE out and slid it into the pockets of the hoodie. Now she just had to make it out of there. She pushed her glasses up her nose and…

Nothing happened. Rui frowned. Either she was very far from Tokyo, or she was too hurt to teleport under her own power. She pressed a hand to her chest, taking a few deep breaths. Come on now, one more try. Nothing. A little bit of sweat trickled down from her brow, another sign she was not well.

As a last resort then, she pulled out her NOTE. It had a line through the Gatchaman symbol at the moment, as it was damaged. She held it out in front of her, prepared to transform and bail.

II. Roommates – Upper 5, Cabin B

She hadn’t roomed with anyone as far back as she could remember. With her ticket in hand and the door in front of her, she admittedly, just assumed it was an assigned room.

When the door opened and there were bunk beds, she couldn’t help but stand there, a little perplexed and horrified, really.

“This place…” She murmured under her breath.

III. Exploring The Train

Rui was going to push herself and could be found walking the entire length of the train, taking the time to look in every single car as she tried to figure out what this place was.

All she knew was that she couldn’t get out of here, so she was going to have to make it work until it stopped again.

She was mentally cataloguing the placement of electronic devices, in case she needed to get somewhere in a hurry, although the size of the train, she shouldn’t need to transform to get anywhere on it.

It takes a while for Jaisyn to finally get to her cabin, having run into a familiar face out on the platform, and when she arrives at the door and sees the list, she begins to feel uncomfortable again. Roommates. It’s not that she doesn’t like other people — a term she uses loosely, having noticed the different sentient species on board — but she’s been traveling through space with nothing except an astromech droid for a companion for quite a while now, so her social muscles need some stretching.

“Hi,” she greets with an awkward wave of her hand, her eyes taking in the room arrangement and the beds. Not a lot of options. “Which one isn’t taken?”

But it’s also a relief to be sleeping on a bed instead of the pilot’s seat of a cramped cockpit of a single-person starship, so whoever comes across her next will find her sound asleep in the bed she’s been directed to. If she’s not supposed to be there, well, it won’t take much to wake her. Your hand might not even reach her when she intercepts it, her fingers closing quickly and firmly around your own. She doesn’t intend to hurt, but, you know, Jedi reflexes. (Or you don’t.)

“I’m up,” she murmurs, sitting up and blinking back sleep as she releases your hand.

LAUNDRY DUTY • OPEN

Not up to doing your chores? Jaisyn will offer to take the load off your back... in exchange for leaving her alone. She’s not antisocial, really; she’s just getting used to being around people again. She can be found sitting cross-legged on the carriage floor by one of the washing machines, eyes closed and deep in her meditation. She might even be hovering a few inches off the floor while she’s doing it.

Normally Raven also isn't one to bother another when they're clearly in meditation mode. But this is a face she hasn't seen before. Probably a new arrival. So she's careful, to make a noise and keep her voice soft so as to not startle the other. "Excuse me."

Tidus | OTA

"Phew! Stuffy!"

A stuffiness that hasn't yet gotten Tidus to remove the varsity jacket he's wearing, and rather, he looks to be enjoying it - at least the outdoors, raising his arms behind his head and taking the time for a good stretch. It lasts for a while, until...

...he sees the leaving individuals, heading out the turnstile, for once catching the sight. A few figures he recognises personally as always, but it's a green one that gets his smile to drop with his shoulders. Was it bad to feel down? Well, knowing Piccolo, he'd want him to put his energy towards a better emotional state - focus on what you can deal with.

The last of the people leave, and it may be late, but he calls out, raising a fist that unfurls in goodbye, "Big green! Go and show the universe what you're made of!"

They'll take care of things here.

Otherwise, Tidus will be making his way through the crowd of people of new and old by now, his jacket tied around his waist. New people will get a nod, and, "Hey, sorry you're here. You know what's up? Got any questions?", while familiar faces may get a similar stop to, a small friendly smile. "Seen anyone you know?"

2; shopping, new sleepers

It's a platform stop, which also means, a visit to luggage.

He barely knows what he's going to find, searching through the smaller and bigger items respectively, books and boxes. With other people around, he'll say a name, look around to see if he's gotten anyone else's parcel. Has he found your shopping?

For his own, he has a few suitcases to find, as well as boxes, one a small but hefty thing, and a few books, with titles about potions, magic and tech, and...cooking with weed???

Nevermind all that though. There's one small box that Tidus finds, rattling in his hands, barely able to control itself. It gets a furrowed brow, and Tidus undoes its flap lid...

And a small thing on wheels bursts out, and starts zooming around feet and making its way out of the room.

"H-hey! What the?!"

3; double rooms

Okay, but after that excitement, there's seeing what the train's given them as their new carriage. ...which, he does better once he finds the ICP point, considering all the locked doors. Muttering to himself, with some amusement. "Ohhh, couple rooms, huh?"

He looks away, spotting another person close - maybe you were just meaning to pass or looking around in general, but Tidus cocks his head to terminal.

"You got someone you wanna room with?" he asks jokingly.

4; kitchen, spices

"Oh, cool. So is this Japanese food?"

He's poking at another ICP terminal--that is, the one showing the recipes. A multiple of bottles and packets have been set on a counter nearby, while Tidus checks out the recipes on display. It's easy to catch him while he's reading, but he also isn't shy about asking someone, while stepping aside from the screen.

"Hey, I know onigiri. You know any of these recipes?"

[Ayumi is, unfortunately, used to waking up in unfamiliar places with no idea how she got there and no clue what she's supposed to be doing. It's a hazard of the "job."

But just because she's used to it doesn't make it any less startling.]

[Shaking her head, Ayumi clears the fog from her mind, instinctively reaching for her badge- and finding it not there. That's... concerning. Without the badge, there's no way to contact Chaldea. If she can't contact Chaldea, she can't find whatever the source of this is, take care of it, and get to go home.

Kiyoiri had to deal with something similar in that parallel Shimousa and she came out of it fine, but it still weighs on Ayumi's mind. Especially because she couldn't summon anybody for some time there.

Already half-expecting the result, Ayumi brings her hand up to her chest.]

[Some kind of creature pops out of a puff of smoke, posing proudly.

[There was so much information. Pamphlets, booklets, maps, all containing so much collated knowledge about the train that it made Ayumi's head spin. Brow furrowed, she walks through the bustling train with her nose deep in a pamphlet, absorbing everything that she can-

Until she nearly runs into someone. Thankfully, at the last possible moment, Ayumi lets out a small "eep!" hop-skipping out the way.]

Ah, sorry, sorry! [She smiles sheepishly, rubbing the back of her head.] I really should've been paying more attention to my surroundings, eh?

[Ayumi perks up, realizing something.] Um, if it isn't too much trouble, could you take me to the... [She squints at her pamphlet.] training gym car? The scans say my gear is okay, but Nobu always taught me to double-check it myself just in case, and I want to make sure that it's in tip-top shape for the mission this month.

C. Lower Cabin 4:D (Closed to 4:D)
[Ayumi stares up at the top bunk, idly squeezing a Chibi Nobu in her arms (which lets out a soft "Nobunobunobunobunob," is it snoring?) as another one sleeps curled up at her feet, rumbling.

She'd like to tell herself that she's been in stranger situations, but honestly that would be a boldfaced lie. This is easily the weirdest Singularity (can she even call it that, after so many people from so many other worlds have been flooding the place for a year now without any alert coming into Novum Chaldea?) that she's ever been in, she's alone, and...

Worrying doesn't help anything, but Ayumi can't help but worry about what's happening back home. After the Indian Lostbelt, there was Atlantis. It was going to be their biggest challenge yet, and if she wasn't there, if Nobu wasn't there to fight the gods-

The door opens. Ayumi, startled, falls out of her bed, alarmed Chibi Nobus in tow.]

...um, was that your bunk?

"Nobunobu."

TRAIN -!

[She's not NOT used to being crashed into, but it's still a bit of a shock each and every time. Yuume herself isn't in her sweater and such. No, she's in her very sanrio gym clothes, and for a good reason.]

Oh- it's quite alright, I'm on my way there as well. Your gear, though?

[This girl...seems about the age of her apprentice, perhaps a bit older. Somewhat refreshing, that. She looks over the other however, trying to gauge what the 'gear' might be.]

A. Platform

Lena hadn't realized her eyes had been closed until she opened them, and for a moment she was confused. The last she could remember, she had been falling through the sky. How did she get onto a train platform?

Her expression quickly changed to a bit of a scowl, and she crossed her arms with a huff. "Did it finally happen? Am I actually dead? Because I'll be honest, I will be mad if that's the way I went out."

B. Settling In (Closed to Roommates)

Walking down the carriage corridor, Lena double checked the numbers of the rooms with what was written on her ticket.

"...Cabin Upper 4...C..." Looking up at the door she was standing in front of, she checked her ticket again. "Well, I guess this is the one."

So using the ticket to open the door, she peeked into the room, looking for whoever she was supposed to be rooming with.

"Uh...hello?"

C. Departure

Finding an unoccupied seat, Lena settled in as the train began to take off. Watching the void through the window, she frowned a bit.

"And I thought the shadow realm was weird," she murmured.

D. Exploring the Train (Wildcard)

Once the train was more stable, Lena began to get a better look around the train. She could be found checking out each car, seeing what was in each one and what it had to offer.

Kaiba dons his orange as he usually does for the platform, but for someone who's not often talkative on a good day? He's even less so than usual today. He's tightly wound, stance rigid, knuckles white as he balls his fists.

They're sent onto the platform. He immediately takes stock of the departing crew, the former passengers off on their way into nothingness. No familiar shock of hair appears, and he lets out the breath he's been holding---but the tension's still there.

Normally this would be the point where he'd help orient new teammates, but he's so not in the mood right now. He immediately turns back toward the edge of the platform, ready to board the moment they're allowed in...but should he swivel too fast and bump into someone, they'll get a brief 'my bad'.

Once aboard, Kaiba immediately turns his attention to the train changes. When he walks all the way back, he learns there's been a big adjustment to the sleeper cars. So the winner of the poll is...?

The couples' car. Of course it is. He takes in the pair transfer option as though it personally offended him, snarls, and whirls around to head back to his room.

"All the build projects in our pipleine and no space..."

[After the Semi-Disastrous Date with Bakura at their last stop- and nothing against the woman but she was just incredibly forward and poor Yuume was going to die a tomato if she kept running into her at this point, historic benefits be darned- Yuume spent a bit of time trying to find something to unwind with.

It was a bit difficult.]

Hahhhhhh...I want to just sink into a pile of blankets and disappear...

[So she mutters, standing at the shop menu closest to Dressing, and punching in the necessary points for a number of snacks. Is it bribery?? Maybe?? Mostly she just wants the sort of company that won't mind if she curls in a corner with a book or something. Or perhaps she could ask about those games she had before...??

Well, in any case, she's knocking at the side where one would consider it the door to Kumoko's area of Dressing. (If she's not the only one coming in, then ah, she'll have to deal with that,)]

[After a while, Yuume's managed to successfully chill herself out suffice to say. She's back on her feet, back to going through the train, and perhaps even doing so with a little more skip in her step.

It's when she comes to the games carriage that she stops in particular however, hovering at Seto's case of duel monsters cards in thought.]

I wonder.. ...if perhaps, I should contribute...

[Perhaps someone should jolt her from thought, if they wish to get to the case themselves.]

[Ultimately, there is no better way of releasing energy than this-

Swords! Swords, and more swords! Granted, Yuume only has one sword when she's pulled her armor on, but it's still an impressive bit of practice combat now that she's started incorporating her typical melting into the shadows. Handily enough, she's erected a 'field'- though it does leave a unique seeming effect upon the gym with the damage that appears to be done to it.

It'll restore itself, certainly though.

[ Seto doesn't intend to spend much time here. This is usually where he'd meet with Yugi after a long day, but...he doesn't want to think about that right now. He breezes through to ensure everything is in place, and finds someone hunched over the cards. Yuume. ]

Raptor walks out of the mist, flailing a bit. This isn't her ship's command center! This is.... This is... Where is this? Stinger isn't here. Kotaro isn't here. Even that do nothing commander isn't here. It definitely doesn't look like the Orion bridge and, WHAT HAPPENED TO HER CLOTHES!

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA! WHERE AM I? WHAT IS GOING ON?! WHAT AM I WEARING?!?"

With that she drops her duffel, looks down at it and starts tossing things out of it, letting out a slight breath as she slips some sort of bracer from it over her left arm.

Ok, deep breath. You are in command Raptor. Own the chaos. You've been through worse.

With that she stands up and looks at the train, "Ok! What is that? I need to get back to the Rebellion's flag ship right now!"

Raptor is walking down the hall, staring at her ticket.

"Cabin A. Cabin A. I hope it isn't too small of a space."

Peering at the door she starts to look at all the names on each one and just deadeyes.

Nozomi blinked as she stepped out onto the platform, determined to greet arrivals this time. She was so exhausted she missed the last one!

However, stepping out, she was surprised to see Raptor’s panicking and confusion.

[He wakes that morning with the nagging sense that something is wrong. It sticks even while he grins and places his order for curry supplies, and while he ponders whether or not he'll have enough for whatever he might surprise someone with at the next platform, depending on. A grim, heavy feeling, one which refuses to abate.

The train stops at the station, and he realizes what it is.]

Ah hell-

[He runs out- not to stop her, but to see, running beside if anything, running around those on the platform to get even a look at the woman's face-

Ran.]

Ah helllllll, [he groans, burying his face in his hands and recalling just a few conversations he had over the last two weeks.] This is not good..!

[Don't mind him, platform folks. Just a Japanese teenager in blue, groaning in some kind of misery.]

[Like Web Surfing, but Dex focused,]

[Later on through the day in the standard carriage, even after they've all left, and Katsuya seems...not quite genuinely happy, but just seemingly bored enough that perhaps he's doing alright? The blond skims quickly through the touch screen on his pokedex- while Rotom patiently, if not worriedly, hovers.]

[Just as he snaps at the thing, he realizes there's someone else in the carriage.]

[DAY 2, LATE - CLOSED TO LOWER 3-E]

[Over all, the feeling of unease had not gone away for the entire day at the platform. To make matters worse, he had the oddest dream- one that he almost worried about, at least until the end.

It had tapered off, somehow. Everything was as foggy as the platform, disorienting and unclear. He could hear something, but he couldn't be sure what it was. Feel something, somethign rushing, but without any certainty on what it was. And then...

It felt like travelling. Going somewhere...else. Somewhere he was needed, the sense gave.

When he woke up, he didn't even realize what that meant until his ticket failed to work on his cabin door. (Fortunately, in helping someone else move, he was able to get his stuff back. But yikes!)

Well, with a quick check to his ticket, he was able to find out why.

There's a knock, and he holds the door, not quite opening it yet.]

H'llo?

Everyone in there decent an' such? I don' wanna be walkin' in on anythin'...

[Look, he wandered into his old cabin without a shirt until he found out A-Qing wasn't actually blind, so.]

Arrival

Of all the new arrivals standing outside waiting for the train on a misty platform, only one doesn't seem terribly surprised, or confused. Nothing of the sort in fact, as the fog thins a little bit, the towering blond in red and khaki looks around with alert interest, glances skyward once, and very reluctantly pulls his hood up after checking to see if he might happen to have a wristwatch.

He does. Safety, at least.

"The train should arrive soon," the vampire declares, tone utterly content. Apparently he's not done with mutliversal mayhem just yet, which suits him fine. He crosses his arms over his chest, peering at the cloying fog. "This time it seems it won't inflict the garish light of noon upon us. Small mercies."

Everyone else would probably be fine with that, actually.

Out And About

Even though he's been here before, Dio's forced to do a little exploring anyway.

For one the sleeper carriages have COMPLETELY changed. And there's several new ones to investigate. But his path around the train doesn't quite have the uncertainty of a new arrival, it's closer to a more experienced resident simply looking about to see what might have changed.

"No crocodile car," he says to whoever happens to be nearby at that particular moment. "A disappointment. I, Dio, will have to repeat my recommendation.."

For a crocodile car?

It's important for morale. He's certain of it.

Kitchen.

There's just one last thing to check on!

His diet was catered to the last time he was here, and he didn't bother to question it. But it's always good to be certain. Thus Dio has relocated into the kitchen whether or not it's Red's week for kitchen duty, to poke through the entirety of the current inventory to find ... yes indeed, there is fresh (chilled.. meh.) blood packed away. It might not necessarily be only for him but he'll take it anyway, retrieving one of the neatly sealed bags of blood and then beginning a hunt for a glass.

"Unfortunate the train insists on keeping it cold. Some things are best served hot and fresh directly from the source.."

Kitchen.

It's fresh brain daaaaay! Fresh brain daaaay. Sure, not the real thing but in his world the real thing is a little harder to come by. Just not a lot of humans left and he likes it when they're on his side. But he can eat those of fallen zombies when he needs.

Fresh would be better. Warm? Optimal, but he's accepted that's just not going to happen on any sort of regular. That's a treat.

Murphy is moving past Dio with his brown-paper wrapped brain that he's intending to freeze into cubes this time. Unwraps it and plants it on the cutting board. Starts grabs a knife from where they're stored and-

He looks over to Dio. Really looks this time. Wrinkles his nose as he sniffs. Yup, yup that sure is blood. "Yeah, I've noticed. This shit is like tofu. It does the trick but it's missing a little kick." He starts chopping it up.
