[Open] Some Weeks Are Just Busy
Who: Senku Ishigami and anyone who wants to participate!
Where: Various cars
When: Llama Day 2 - 4
What: Senku has a lot of things to get out of the way before the mission drops.
Warnings: SCIENCE!
Day 2
The day after platform, Senku is up and about the exact moment he wakes. He hasn’t changed out of his pajamas even, wearing a loose fitting graphic t-shirt with the words “Everything happens for a reason...and that reason is usually physics.” written on the front, and a pair of orange and black plaid lounge pants. Senku has never once turned up and sat in his pajamas before for an entire day.
He has set himself up in the standard car, and with a couple of books stacked, he has propped up two clocks on a table.
Senku crossed his arms on the table and dropped his chin on them as he stared at the clocks, unmoving. He was going to be there for the next twenty-one hours.
Day 3
This day was going to be a combination of experimentation and training, which was really also an experiment.
Senku set himself up again in the standard car at a table with a tool box and a selection of three manadrives, as well as his broken SCA he’d yet to disassemble. It took him so long to get to this, he wasn’t going to need to bother with breaking the ones on hand. He wasn’t seated today, he was standing at the end of the table with a screwdriver, ready to tear them apart.
Later, Senku found himself in the training gym. He had his two tailed pink kitten Orion with him, as Eva said they needed to get him trained properly, but outside of that, he was looking for help.
“Hey, can you help me with something?” Senku was holding a volleyball he’d swiped from the other gym in his hands, just in case they had no other means of assisting him. He was kind of hoping this experiment went well.
Day 4
With the mission looming, some preparation was desperately needed so that people could be prepared. Tidus had acquired a food dehydrator, which was probably going to be much faster than the oven method he was using before and Senku was looking to test it out.
The selection this month was heavily weighted to fish, so fish jerky it was going to be, although he was starting with a small piece first. He sliced it into smaller pieces and started seasoning each one with some of the different spices that were so thoughtfully provided this time.
“Hey, do you want to taste test something with me?” Senku asked.
Once he sorted out how the flavours, he’d make enough so that people could grab it for a snack while out, as well as start making onigiri. He wasn’t sure about the other teams, but he wanted to have enough for orange, and some extras to take with him in case he ran into anyone who happened not to have any food on them.
No one was going to starve on Senku’s watch.
Evenings Day 3-4
Senku spends a good chunk of these two evenings in medical, minding the carriage. It’s never hard to find him and he can read his book or work on some other project in there just as easily as anywhere else, although catching him on the fourth night, he has his personal laptop out instead of a book and he’s typing away at some of the findings he’s managed this week.
There was no rest for the wicked, after all.

Day 4
When Senku brought it up, "Sure? What is it?"
no subject
The strips weren't very big so he really wasn't using very much of the stores for his project and he took one and put it on the cutting board and cut it into four small pieces.
"This one I did with the tamarind from the recipes, just a touch." He offers the bite to Xingchen.
"I've also got one in karashi, one in shichimi togarashi, one with ginger and garlic, one with wasabi and one with the moshio salt." None of them would be terribly sweet, but some might be spicy.
He began cutting up the other strips.
no subject
He reaches over to take a piece and a bite, chewing for the flavor. "It's really good, Senku. You're working hard on different dishes. What's the occasion?"

Day 3
"Oh? Need my help, do you?" The tone was just short of outright laughter.
"I hope you aren't going to ask for anything so prosaic as a game of ball."
no subject
"Not a game as such, no." Senku chuckled lightly.
"I need however, someone to throw this ball at me repeatedly. I'm testing out a new spell."
no subject
"And you'd ask me to do that? A proper master would tell you that you have long years of imitation yet to trudge through ere you can dream of creating anything functional. Yet alone something of worth when weighed against the orthodox arts. A less proper master..."
She grinned with exaggerated malice, leaving what mischief she might get up to given such an opportunity to the imagination.
But she was, evidently, game. She crooked a finger and the ball flew from Senku's hand and immediately doubled back towards him.

Day 2, mid-late morning
So on his way back, it's with three things. First, a bowl of oatmeal - cinnamon, brown sugar, some scraps of fruit and a spoon - and a glass of water, which get set down next to the clocks.
Second, his phone, which is also set within Senku's view, set to display the clock ticking away at October 12, 2035, 22:45:32 and counting. It's propped up landscape-ways by its case and clip, and under the clock is the text, At least eat something, for fuck's sake.
And third is a book, which goes into his lap as Ghost flops into the set of seats immediately across the aisle from Senku, apparently having no higher priorities for the moment.
no subject
He saw the oatmeal and water, which is a nice gesture. The clock on the other hand counting makes him grimace. "Ah, don't show me that." Senku said, putting his hand in the way of it, but peering slightly beneath. "I'll eat, but I'm tapped out on how many things I can count at once."
Senku pulled the oatmeal closer to him and started stirring it without looking at it.

Day 3 - gym
"Right. You sure you ready for this? You can back out any time you want." And she means that. Training is good, yes, but she wants him to be sure about this.

day 2
But when the meeting can be called over, he comes to check up on Senku, making a face that reminds him of how so not worth Senku's time the clocks are; but he bites back his grumbling, coming to take a seat without speaking up first.
...
...
...but this is Tidus, so of course-
"Why can't we set a camera to record them again?"
no subject
"But then I'd have to watch a video of clocks for twenty-one hours, it's the same thing."

( evening, day 4 )
Roland doesn't expect to find anyone occupying the medical car, one of lesser used spaces of the train during off-weeks from missions. Seeing Senku typing about is a familiar sight, reminding him of his own work ethic hunched over an artificially-lit screen in an empty room from a lifetime and a half ago. It's comforting and curious to witness as he approaches, the sliding door behind him softly closing. Cradled against his own arm are typical accessories - books, notes, journals. They were probably thinking of retreating in their own little worlds for the same reason.
Roland's smile barely meets the corners of his eyes, but lacks none of the warmth in greeting a good friend. The writing utensils he carries land against the free bed, one space beside Senku's spot. For now, he's in the mood to crack a small joke while he gets comfortable.
"Don't tell me that's a laptop you invented from back home. Now you're just showing off. Heh."
no subject
"Didn't invent this, this is from before when I was a teenager, but I did build it and modify it. This isn't something you can just buy at the store." He'd been very good at technology.
"You aren't hurt, or sick or something are you?" Roland looked healthy enough but minding the car, he had to ask. He wasn't going to complain about company otherwise.

Day 3
She's got Sandra there, too, but Sandra is just being a little scuttley Sandra bot, picking up bits that fall off Claudette.
She overhears Senku, and really wanting a break calls over a, "I can help!" And then she withdraws four different tools into the confines of her hair for quick access later.

"How do you feel about chucking a ball at my head?" He said with a bit of a smirk. Hey, he knew he could be annoying, it was a prime opportunity!

Day 4
"I might as well," he answers with a polite bow of his head. "What is it?"
no subject
"It's some flavoured, preserved fish. I'm trying to see which flavours are the best."
He hasn't used much for his testing so he takes the first strip and cuts a small bite, offering it to Huaisang. "This one is ginger and garlic."
