Training Gym

With nobody else in the training car for the last little while, Xehanort's been keeping himself occupied.

Which means he's made himself an obstacle course, one that includes the swing-out climbing apparatus, a springboard, two training dummies and mats being used for things besides being on the floor for falling. It's an ongoing project apparently, because he's STILL digging out pieces and moving them around, currently stopped with a large block at his side, scrutinizing his creation with a frown.

It's going to have go somewhere, nothing looks complete yet, and there's even more supplies still stacked up everywhere that surely can be added to it!

Rock Garden

His potted geraniums are still sitting there, by the fountain, in defiance of it being a ROCK garden. And he's returned again, this time with multiple books and a notepad, and the bench he's chosen is positioned such where he can keep a weather eye on both entrances.

The last time he tried a quiet room for quiet it hadn't actually worked out, so he's trying again, neatly setting out notes and reopening books and re-organizing what had wound up a failed mess. It's not what the garden car is FOR, but relaxing and quiet was relaxing and quiet, even if he brought a pile of books with him, surely.

Spa

After dinner at some point, Xehanort discovers .... a pool. Well sort of a pool, it seems to be heated, and most of it really did look like a place to only and specifically, relax. It takes him a little while to figure out how to get the ICP to randomize its playlist, find a towel, find swim trunks that fit, and then!

And then he's going for a not-swim, wading around until he finds a tier that actually is comfortably deep enough to submerge most of himself in before settling down.

It's.. comfortable. Unlike the beds, unlike 95% of the train, it actually felt like relaxation is possible here.

Ken's not often in the spa, preferring to just keep moving - but he's tired and sore from training, so he heads into the car, grabbing some swim trunks and pulling them on. He leaves his bag and clothes near the wall where he can keep an eye on them and turns towards the pools.

The... already occupied ones. Hm.

"... Is it okay if I come in?"

Della is curious about where he's going with this, but it sure looks exciting. With a whistle and hands in her pockets, she walks over.

"Need any help?"

Ken is watched as he goes by with belongings, then returns with swim shorts on. Nothing's ever said, the pool's plenty large enough for several adults, nevermind one adult and one small child. He can't very well hog an entire train car all to himself!

Well he could but it wouldn't be polite. Which means when Ken speaks up, one hand rises briefly out of the water with a slight beckoning gesture.

"Might as well while you can, more people are likely to come eventually and then it'll be crowded." Two isn't bad. Five or six will be annoying. "But I won't be playing, if you've brought pool toys. It's been a long day."

There are, as yet, no pool toys, but that didn't mean there wouldn't be a six foot brightly colored foam noodle out of nowhere at any moment.

Hey, it's the duck! His idea that ducks might be the second most common species after humanoids is really going to have to be put to the test at some point, just to soothe his own curiosity.

"Hello." He studies his current block, and all the other ones he's been messing with, frowning. Did he need help? Not at all. "... If you'd like. I don't have a goal in mind especially, except for using up everything available."

ALL OF IT. He's making good headway.

"That's true. I hate when it gets noisy and crowded..." Even though he lives in a city... it's a different kind of crowded when the people are ones you know and can't get away from.

The remark about playing just gets Xehanort a brief stink-eye as he slips into the water. "It's not big enough to use pool toys here, even if I had any. I was training, I was coming here to soak." Which he is doing right now, though he has to fold his legs under himself on the underwater seat in order to keep his head above water.

Hm. ... Wait, is this the guy? He matches the picture Ken looked up... maybe better to not let on that he knows anything just yet. "You're new, aren't you?"

The pool is considered again, and Xehanort comes to the eventual conclusion that either this child is ordinarily spoiled for space, or he wasn't very creative with his games. Nothing is said about it though, just a slight shrug. Less chaos is less chaos, and he had relaxing of his own to do.

"Mm." That's not exactly a yes, but it might as well be. "A few days."

Sadly Ken hasn't ever really played much with pool toys. Beach toys are different, and there's no sand here.

"I've been here for about two months." Geez, has it been that long already? "But there's people who have been here a lot longer than me... I know my team's leader has been here a really long time."

"I have heard very little of anyone being upset about being here, short stay or long." It struck him as a little strange. "Not openly at least."

And here's a boy that is likely completely without adult supervision, dragged along for. What? "It must be quite the adventure, all of this."

"I... have a team at home who's probably worried about me. But 'adventure'... my life at home is enough 'excitement'. Fighting off Shadows most nights to train... along with other stuff." Like dealing with SEES.

"I'm not used to fighting alongside this many people. There's only four other people on my team."

Della whistles, impressed. "Everything? You must have one impressive exercise regiment! I can't wait to see it!"

Her imagination is already running away...

"I don't have a regimen... yet." That's going to change. He sets his hands on his hips, frowning at his entire creation. "But if this train gets us into battle a lot, I can't hide behind my lab coat and hope for the best."

Not even a little bit! After a moment he picks up his block and heads a little further into the car, looking for somewhere to put it. "Though hopefully nobody will want to come in and .. use just one bit of it, I'm not sure how that'll work."

Quiet, it seemed, was going to be elusive, but there was no reason he couldn't just slow boil where he was and be polite at least. As long as he kept from dozing off everything should be fine. "Do you prefer this over the excitement of home?"

Or was Ken one of those few people who actually seemed to actively want to go home? That would change his tallies a little..

"Is it ordinary, where you are from, to send someone so young into fights?" He doesn't sound particularly judgy over the idea, if things simply worked differently, like aging or grasp on time or lifespans, Ken might not be the child he seems to be, and thus it's perfectly fine to send him off into bloody battle!

"I prefer some parts of it... there's a lot more people here who take me seriously. But the other group at home is trying to do something stupid and destructive, and my group's trying to stop them." Maybe ending the Dark Hour really would end up okay with his group, but there's no way anything the Kirijo Group is ordering them to do is a good thing.

He snorts and stretches a little bit at the question. "No. I mean, the things we're fighting most people don't know they exist. But my team does most of our stuff when the monsters are out... there's a hidden hour of the night that only some people are aware of. And they know I'm young, but I can hold my own as well as the rest of them."

"Have you considered asking the train to detour to your world and see if the problem can be settled once and for all?" He doesn't sound like he's super invested, merely idly curious. "There's no saying it will oblige.. but you never know."

Wasn't the train there for stopping problems? Whatever this group was, it probably couldn't handle a train load of people like Vegeta. Suddenly things wouldn't be quite so quiet, likely, but a threat removed is a threat removed. "....Usually the concerns with sending children to fight isn't whether or not they can keep up, but whether or not doing so is going to cause permanent harm. You're still growing, after all."

"I don't know if it'll agree... a lot of people probably would like the train to detour." Also he's not sure if there some kind of reason they go to some places and not others... hm.

"... I was on my own for a year and a half and fought things I couldn't really kill before I got the ability to hurt them more effectively. My team realizes they're not going to convince me to stop so they might as well let me work in a group."

One hand rises out of the water, slightly wrinkled for being in there long enough, to make a small gesture. "If nobody asks, nobody's ever going to get a detour." How many people have asked?

He's going to have to find out.

What conclusions Xehanort's come to about this repeated insistence that not only can Ken fight, he's been doing so for a long time with Secret Groups during hidden hours, and has apparently zero concern for his ongoing healthy growth, he's not mentioning. There's only a rise of one white eyebrow. "And I assume no-one here has bothered trying to convince you to stop?" His tone says he already knows the answer to that.

That's air.

"... I mean, a few people did. I'm not going to, though. I have too many people I need to protect... and I can heal and use a few different kinds of magic. ... Magic doesn't exist as far as most people at home know."

"Consider 'regen' if you haven't already."

It's the only recommendation made, and how serious it is, is debatable. A certainly very useful spell in the right hands! ..and not one Xehanort himself has bothered with, because he simply didn't need it, but he also didn't throw himself into combat constantly.

It seems that he's content to settle a bit further into the water and add nothing else for now.

"I don't think that's a spell that a Persona can cast... I know Lea has said he's going to try to teach me magic from his world, though. Worlds? I never know what to call it."

And there goes the name. He'll see how this guy reacts to that.

"'Reality'," is the prompt suggestion, though it's quiet and tired-sounding. "Encompasses many worlds while still dividing a line between it and what you know." World alone is just so limiting!

It's not easy to tell if Lea grabbed his attention over 'worlds' and what to call it, but the former isn't spoken on. It might be deliberate. "What sort of spells can a Persona cast, then? Are you limited to only what your Persona can do?" He'd been eavesdropping on EVERY explanation to be had in Della's conveniently open conversations.

He sort of assumes so, given that he didn't immediately ask what one was. "Right."

Hm. "We are, yeah. There's a bunch of different elements we can use, but usually a Persona can only do one or two elements. One of our group members can use a bunch of elements, but his Persona also can't really heal or anything like that. I can heal a little and use lightning and light-based attacks."

For a little while, he doesn't actually say anything, he just regards Ken from across the water. Then he just.. closes his eyes and leans back a bit. The music track shifts, to something vaguely acoustic guitar sounding but definitely not an actual guitar.

"Then it sounds like it's worth trying to learn how to use foreign magic. May it go well for you." At least it seems genuine, and not mocking the boy for even thinking about it.

"Yeah... it'll be something else interesting to focus on, too. There's a lot of downtime here, so you might as well be productive."

He dips under the water for a moment and then emerges with his hair plastered down to his face.

With some measure of further information gathered to augment what was already freely announced, there are apparently no other pressing questions to ask about, for only fairly comfortable silence follows.

It's been a long day for more than Xehanort, given mention of training earlier, a quiet time of slowly becoming raisins before everyone else arrives is a good way to spend some time.

And so they do, to the sounds of slowly rotating ICP playlists.

Elidibus does not use doors.

While this is not one hundred percent accurate, the fact remains that he is not going to use either of the entrances to the rock garden, but appear in the now-familiar cloud of darkness. A mildly different flavor perhaps if one wants to split hairs- a direct teleport rather than a stable portal which would permit others to follow or precede.

Yet it serves the same purpose.

Time has passed since their late night discussion. More importantly matters finally came to a head. There were other matters to see to and investigate and thus time was afforded between the aftermath and this moment.

But the timing is undoubtedly not a coincidence. Elidibus did not wait too long before making his appearance. And the rock garden seemed a fitting place as any once Xehanort had settled himself.

"I trust you have physically recovered from your ordeal?"

Elidibus does not move to join the young researcher on the bench. Whether this is to wait and see if he's even welcome or to impart the serious nature of his visit remains unspoken. His words do suggest some knowledge that matters were not as pleasant as a 'discussion'.
