Who: Yondu Udonta | Vexen & Ansem | Vegeta | Jack & V | OTA
Where: Gym Carriage & Dining Carriage
When: Llama 25 - 26
What: Yondu practicing with his arrow in the gym. Later he's drinking in the dining car.
Warnings: Warnings will be in subject lines and there will probably be warnings.
Practice in the gym
Yondu got a lot of arrow practice at their stop, which is what he feels did him the most good. It also helped him load up on some stones that he could use to continue it. He tries very hard to find times when there's next to no one in the gym- which is hard as hell, mind you, it's a full-ass train and everybody has their moments where they need to fight. He's no different and using his arrow is his zen, so he does his best to find a moment when no one is busy with it to do his thing.
So he's in the gym car, a bucket of small, round river rocks beside him, picking up a fistful at a time and chucking them across the open space. His arrow's ready each time and he tries to pick them all off before they hit the ground. This means every time that he pulls the stunt there's violent circles of glowing red tracing through the air, his arrow caught at the end of each round and prepared to go again.
He misses one, swears under his breath, and notices someone's entered the activity areas.
"Alright, alright. Lemme clean it up and I'll be outa your way." He goes to find the broom. There's not a lot left of the stones, the arrow tends to burn right through, but there's still enough.
drinking in the dining car
He's got two new bottles of brandy and he's having the bold and strange desire to be social. It's in the generic-looking bottles that most train-booze comes in, but it's actually good stuff this time. It's made from Kruna fruit (grown only on Centauri IV and considered a delicacy). Back home, he'd have to sell an M-Ship to afford a small stock of it.
He's already cracked open one of the bottles to try it while he waits for company, sniffing the edge of the glass he's poured it into. There's a whole lotta stuff that he's missed out on about his homeworld that he might as well get caught up on.
He picked the upstairs of the dining carriage, hoping that'd be far enough out of the way that someone passing through wouldn't be bothered by him waiting for his drinking partners, but should anyone come up he nods a polite greeting as he tries a sip.

"I had to carry her to the medical car from the platform."
I didn't get the notif for this.
Not his business to say anything, though. Her mother is good people and that's their discussion to have.
"I wonder why it got it strange. I was all patched up, so was my arrow. But she wasn't, huh? How often do people come in all in bad shape?"
no subject
"Might've been others I didn't notice. Probably not, though."
no subject
"How long have you been here?" He hooks his thumbs in his belt and looks generally perplexed. After what Senku said, the idea of people coming in injured or in bad shape has him concerned.
Who the hell knows what's happening to their bodies, if they really are stashed someplace.

Dying is not a fun time. "I keep worryin' my own boy might show up. I wouldn't want him yanked out of his life to be here. You know your ma talks you up a lot."
He might as well let her know that much.

"Good to know I've got the approval of my C.O."
She chuckles quietly, as if to make clear that she's half-kidding.

"Don't envy her. The boy I raised was on my crew for over twenty years. Always worried the hell out of me 'cause he was one of them types to find trouble ever'where."

She sighs.
"Well, take it from me as the kid who finds trouble - you gotta let 'em do their thing and work through it."
no subject
He doesn't know it for sure. But he guesses his crew saved him, that Yondu left him in a place where he'd be able to keep going like he had been doing before.

He hopes he doesn't, anyway. He's got too much to do at home, tied into people that are too important.

His lip curls up in contempt.
"I had to raise him for a bad kind of life but he took what he learned and turned out a stand-up person."

Truth be told, they'd never really talked on account of the whole not-being-on-purple thing.

"Honestly it might have just been somethin' they put on my bill of sale, I don't know if that's my real last name or not. It works, though. I used to use it to ever'body I met in case I was recognized but, hell, no one here's seen my neck of the woods and I doubt anyone would. So I hadn't mentioned it in a while."

Which would almost be a good thing, considering the track record for the Kree.
"This Terran bombshell showed up an' just ruined some Accusor ships. I never saw it but I heard it thirdhand and it was the best news I heard. Just slapped 'em out of the sky like paper planes."
And hell, he wishes he could have seen that.

"Vegeta was tellin' me he an' his people was supposed to snatch it up an' there was a lot of vyin' for it in his neck of the cosmos. An' there's at least one sick fuck usin' it to farm little girls for energy."

He's still mad about that shit. "Nothin' that can be done except buy 'em as much time here as possible. I don't care for the train but I'd rather 'em have that than home."

She falls silent at this point. There's clearly a lot of things on her mind right now.
