Jingyi doesn't walk immediately, moved by the platform, but then he does with his lips pursed. Walking forward without gaining much ground, because if he truly takes ground eating steps, he's back up at the top of the platform.
Pacing to the slow stroll has him just stopping, letting the platform move him to the near end, then taking two steps to be back up at the top. He's getting a feel for it, the space it takes, how long his strides would need to be.
"Were there no shorter legged peoples?" Pacing he pairs to length of leg, hence the question, and the third time of doing his odd looking ride he takes a longer step and taps on the 'Fast' button, which doesn't register each tap but does start to. The speed goes up, up, not consistently, but overall, and he's jogging, until he's running, until he's seeing how fast this thing goes because Lan Jingyi does not know the meaning of restraint when there's no call for it. What's in danger? Only himself!
He's at least showing he's an easy speed runner, loping along like it's no problem but also like he's not sure this necessarily is better or worse than running around on his own. His breathing is even, he's found some kind of cadence, and the novelty is... more or less holding his attention for the time being.
