[ DAY 16 ; armoury car ]
"Heyyyy. Uh, so it looks like the train added the lockers I was hoping for. Since Light left, and Tobes's been gone for a while...," Tidus adds with a mutter, already not sounding that pleased, "--I'm puttin' everything from the supplies into them, 'kay? The healing, shields and weapons. There's a tablet with a list of what everything does and how to use 'em. It's voice-automated too.
So...yeah. That's it. See ya."
It's far from confident, the usual casual-sounding that's Tidus been heard over the ICP, but it's on par to whenever he talks about supplies. Lightning's leave already has his mood down, which is an evident sight to anyone who comes to the armoury, where he made the call (and then switched off, not interested in holding a conversation over the thing). There's nothing exciting going on: just suitcases on the ground with their lids open, the array of healing and weaponry waiting revealed inside that's to be stuffed away.
Maybe you come because of the announcement; maybe you're just passing by. You might hear a "shit!" hissed when one of the finger-sized bottles go rolling towards the other side of the carriage from where Tidus is. His movements are sluggish, and he wears an unguarded, doleful look, uncharacteristically quiet. Unless he notices anyone lingering, or just catches someone's eye -- then he'll pull on a smile, and give a simple "Hey."
Or, he's just taking a second to look at locker and its supplies once it's filled, his back to another locker, sitting on the floor. And you might hear him say-
"Hope you kick that god's ass, Light."
[ DAY 17 ; training gym - standard coach ]
- ( a: treadmills
But he's being better by the next day, or seems to be. In the early morning he's in the training gym, pulling odd square containers out by a wall, with what appear to be bars curled around the sides. To anyone whose attention he gets, he offers cheerily: "Hey, how about a go on one of these?"
It takes some pressing in the right places, and then, the 'box' stars to unfold, turning rectangular while the bars raise - and it turns into what's essentially a treadmill.
"Ever seen one of these?"
Or, he could already be running on one, while the second sits there, a spare waiting to be used. Hop on! Tidus won't stop you.
( b: standard coach - blitzball )
There's a few close CR he might push to join him, but if you're friendly with Tidus and you happen to passing through, he might usher a hand, stop you from where you were going.
"Hey, hey! Wanna see me in a blitzball match?"
He's at a table, a device rolled out and a picture taking up the entire 'screen' and an energy drink open. There's footage similar to this to behold (note: without city destruction), with Tidus perhaps present an outfit like this, and his hair blond. Or, you might even get a chance to see him a year younger, in an outfit the same the rest of his team -- and with his hair a brown.
"Oh man!" He says through a laugh. "I can't believe it got video of me like this! This was when I was starting off!"
[ DAY 18 ; sports gym/games car ]
- ( attempt a: whomp whomp )
Tidus has got a plan. He's had a plan for a while, thanks to Roland, but now is the time to achieve it. It starts somewhere around morning to noon, after breakfast. There's notices slapped on the outside of the sports gym doors, written in fat felt.'USING THE SPACE 2 MAKE A POOL'
'SWIMMING POOL INSIDE'
One on one side, one on the other. You might get to read them, before the troubles, or after. What are the troubles? That would happen to be when a sound like the equivalent of a bomb going off sounds from inside the gym, and before the doors can be opened from outside, they slam open from within - and water floods out into the hallway, possibly knocking anyone out there off their feet.
The good of the situation: the water is only knee-high deep on an adult. The bad of the situation: ...the car is flooded, welcoming any unsuspecting person who welcomes through the sports car (and thank goodness someone moved the transgate back out). Tidus can be found inside the car - that's impressive flooded from one end to another, in swimming shorts and coughing up water, while a blue pal is floating on the water the opposite end, wiggling and squeaking 'hiiigle!! piggle!!' desperately. ( But, they're only visible to those with a good heart/of good intentions. )
A plan may have not gone off right here.
- ( attempt a: dingdingdingding! )
"I've got a pool going in the gym for an hour or two! Come join me if you want!"
But by some miracle, they finally get it right. This pool doesn't take up the full length of the gym but one half of one side, away from the walls and about half the size going up from the ceiling. Tidus might be seen inside the water, or just enjoying floating above it; his blue pal nowhere but to seen, but for those who sense energy, may be able to discern there being entities with the water, that is otherwise nothing more than fresh, natural water.
Grab some shorts from the spa car, come and gawk, complain about the room being used up or whatever you like. Tidus dives into the water and reaches out of the 'wall' of the water, to a large trunk homing pieces of coral, breaking it off and bringing it into the bizarre pool - where it shatters into pieces, and the water wobbles...in delight??
[ DAY 19 ; sports gym - standard coach ]
- ( a: dance dance dance!! or shoot shoot shoot!! )
Oh no, he's in the sports gym again.
But don't worry, there's no water. This time, there's a holographic figure being projected from a round disk on the floor. About as defined as a wii fit trainer, they stand idle as Tidus - dressed appropriately - flicks through a screen of settings.
"Wanna give it a go with me?" Tidus offers, always happy for company. The dance difficulties he goes for are simple to follow, and there's the option of finding him with Inigo for company, if you want to up the potential for dumery. Two guys just doing repetitive dance moves, and if Tidus happens to catch you staring (though, he really needs to keep his eyes on the coach!), he'll grin and challenge, "Think you can keep up!?", in all his usual daring nature.
( Warning: if Inigo notices a girl/woman looking athimthem, the possibility of him shrieking is 90%. )
But when isn't Tidus like that? Always up to something, and willing to include another. There's a new addition in the games carriage that Tidus has been having goes on, aiming to raise his highscore. Look at this wonderful gameplay.
- ( attempt b: 3am thoughts )
But there's more than only his usual buzzing energy going on with Tidus. He can be found in the standard coach on some of the later nights; another energy drink opened, indulging in a fizziness a guy like him shouldn't be so late. The tablet device sits on a simple stand, while his head rests in his folded arms, watching the blitzball footage.
To some, he just looks focused on whatever he's watching - intensely so. But if he happens to notice anyone come in (a 50/50 chance), he pauses the video, or just brings the device down -- like a guy trying to hide his shame, head turned towards the window, his face a warm pink. He might look back with a not-trying-to-appear-awkward "Hey" if he recognises the person - but otherwise, just, you know. Acting like he didn't do that!
Nothing weird about him, bro.
[ DAY 20 ; sports gym (late) ]
- ( note: prompt has some allusions to death, may involve talk related to it; nothing negative/suicidal! )
It's late again, and Tidus has something he wants to find out.
Why? There's a few reasons in his head. A few thoughts have been in his head, leading him into the sports gym, out of the way. He could go somewhere more private like the quiet car, but Tidus likes the sports car, spends most of his time in it. He likes the space and silence, as empty as it is right now.
He has a device on him, and he's counting down the time; his SCA on the floor next to him, in easy reach.
Counting how long it takes for his skin and the rest of him to start to discolour, shimmering into greens and blues; until it becomes see-through, until it gets to a point that it scares him, and he can't countdown any more and needs to grab his SCA again, all he can grab at that point.
But as late a time as Tidus picks to do his experiment, maybe he ends up not the only one there, caught with his eyes on the tablet device, ears not picking up on the doors farther away from him when they open.
Unless the person is particularly loud - then he'll reach for his SCA, and scramble to get it on quickly, the colours across his body fading as a more solid form returns.
[ OTHER DETAILS ]
[ Want to do any of the above but on different days? Treadmills, dance exercise, and gaming are available on any of them! Inigo can also be a 3rd person for dancing. Feel free to message me for any questions/plotting!! ]
for rui, ryo, and seto ( knight quest )
And if we're gonna have fake names, now's the time to think of one!
[ Welcome indeed, to the dramatics Tidus is icing on top of this roleplay adventure he's dragged Rui, Ryo, and Seto Kaiba into. Why? 'Cause two of them-- nah, all three of them need friends and fun, and what better way than via VR, where you're forced to engage with each other and obstacles? They stand with their headsets and the game booted into them, ready to accept them as soon as they put them on.
That's why Tidus is calling for any last second decisions to be made now. ...granted, they can decide if they're going to actually roleplay once they get into the zone, but!! Do you think Tidus is a planner? Think on your feet! ]

[ Seto is not...entirely sure about the camaraderie aspect of this game, but he has a responsibility as a tester here. He slides the visor on, taking a sharp breath as the world materializes around him.

day 17b
Or rather, he probably pushed himself to get in on this, considering he was the person who said he wanted to see this footage in the first place! He hadn't even meant it as a joke - all this time he really did want to see footage of blitzball, rather than just the still images in Tidus's magazine. And he especially wanted to see footage of Tidus playing. Tidus doing something he enjoyed so much back home.
So as he's settling in to watch this scene, he really is settling in.
You know, by which I mean he might be sitting just a little bit too close to Tidus. But who cares. These are just two bros getting comfy to watch something together. Inigo is practically all squeezed up against Tidus's side, his head leaning on the other's shoulder as he watches the other fiddle with the device.
"Are you sure you can get it to work?"
This isn't a dig at Tidus's ability to operate that device, okay. Inigo has no idea how to do anything with technology, he is not digging his own grave there. No, it's more an 'are you sure the train didn't fool you, bro' kind of question, especially since he isn't sure if Tidus got to see the clips himself yet.
no subject
"Yeah, yeah!" Tidus dismisses Inigo's concern, though it's a good one; following it with a- "Opppeen? Start up? How do you work these things again...!"
Huff. It's been forever and a half since he used any decent tech, but he wasn't big on using tablets in the first place - leave it all to his boat's network than a dingy screen. Just give him minute or twenty to remember what he's doing (and don't tell Roland he got lost).
"Bigger mystery's gonna be what it got me. Could be the other Zanarkand! Or just a random pile of files..."
Words that Inigo surely understands.

Casper sighs and grabs some swim trunks from the spa car, walking along over to the gym and standing in front of the pool. He looks up at Tidus floating above and smiles a bit weakly.
"... Still up for some swimming lessons? Otherwise you're gonna have to deal with an orca tail."
no subject
This also wouldn't be the first time he's poked his head out of the side of a pool either - originally to greet Casper, and then at that either or: "An orca tail? ...You can give yourself a tail?"

"I guess? Not really. Just another day on the train."
He doesn't seem sure what to go for, aiming for reassuring somewhere in the last of that, but it falls flat by a voice that can't even pick itself up in the first place. The collection of bottles look a mess now, but he can hold out a hand to take the one Caleb picked up.
"Thanks. Uh, I think I got your tea. Don't know if it's the one, but."

But now Inigo is there, even already wearing a pair of shorts he got from the spa car, and now he's staring at the water...
.. he may be getting some slight cold feet over here. And no, it's not just because he isn't wearing shoes, okay!
"H-Hey, Tidus.. It is.. uh.. possible to accidentally forget how to swim if you don't do it for a while..?" It's not even his fault the train seems to hate stopping anywhere near water, okay!
no subject
"I guess...?" ....ehhhh. "But that's probably just rust. Don't worry, Gibber's got this! He can help you get back into the swing of things, right, Gibbs? Tilt the pool, make a shallow end!"
The pool that the pair are standing beside jiggles like a jelly, and then, lo and behold - one end of the pool starts to expand and tilt out, directly towards the cupboards--
"Nonono, other end!"
Oh?? No?? It stops, and now starts to tilt in the other direction... there!!
"See?" Tidus gestures to the pool. "No problem!"

Day 19 b
Taiki had woken up in the middle of the night, uncomfortable, feeling slightly ill and despite his attempts sleep had not returned. It was nights like this that he missed the feeling of slightly ghostly arms around her. But even thinking of that was enough to almost break his heart and so, as usual, he pushes every memory aside.
He wanders, his plan is to get some water from the kitchen. There's water nearer but he wants the walk, wants the quiet that the train at night brings. Even if there were always some people awake.
Like Tidus here. He is surprised to see his friend but his face twists in worry when he saw the energy drink, not something to be drinking in the middle of the night.
"What are you watching?"
Sorry to Tidus if this very light footed kirin startled him.
no subject
The voice makes him jump, startle; the screen that showed the blitzball game - with him in his second year, blond hair over brown - brought down onto the table. Swinging his head around, he sees who it is - "Taiki?" and then turns back around, rubbing his palm over his eyes before he tilts his head back.
"What are you doing up? Your sleep schedule all messed up?"
Not that it would last - both of them would be whizzed off to sleep - but until then...

He was very curious about what was happening though, having barely had time to read the sign before the water flooded out. He entered the gym and grinned to see Tidus and his little higgledy friend.
"Mister Tidus! Are you making a pool train?"
Was that even possible? Wouldn't it wreck the train? "What if people on the train can't swim?"
That would be a problem!
As much as he liked the idea of an underwater train.
no subject
"Uhh- it's okay!" Totally okay! "We can get rid of it! Right, Gibbs? ... Giiibbbbbbs!"
From over on the other side, a very happy squeaking can be heard, and one higgledy enjoying floating. Please call back later.

day 20
He pokes his head in, tail curling into a curious arc when he sees... Tidus?
Tidus looking... weird. Tidus looking like colours, and he comes in closer, walking on silent feet, brow furrowing more until he's noticing this is not something even Tidus seems okay with, not with how he goes transparent, or when he reaches for the SCA. Jingyi's heard about them being stabilisers, but it hadn't occurred, wouldn't usually occur to him, that it could mean like this too.
Whatever 'this' is.
"Tidus?" He says, voice pitched lower and quiet, shoulders a touch hunched up and his tail having wrapped around to his front, curling upward alongside one leg with its furry tip pointed backward, off his hip. "Why are you going incorporeal?"
Things which usually do are often bad news in his life, but Tidus... Tidus hasn't struck him as bad news. No flagrant resentment of the deeply harmful kind, not bleeding energies he associates with death, not any of the many, many things which he's run into in his life which have, frankly, tried to kill him, with or without provocation.
no subject
Not Tidus. But this is who he is, isn't it? And so - if because of the time or the mood that's been building in him -, here he is: watching this side effect of him. An anchor gone, and soon he will be.
(Well, if he allowed that. But that's none the aim, here.)
But then--he isn't the only one. Not the only one in the gym, startling him, and a hand scrambles for the SCA. The unnatural colours give way to a proper human hand when the two make contact, as do the fingertips that help to put the strap of the device on. The colours disappearing, fading in place of a body solidifying. And on his cheeks there's a coloured warmth, a bumbling out of his mouth as he turns to the tablet-like device.
"I-- it's a party trick!" He stops the timer, only briefly acknowledging anything of Jingyi's posture, but pulled into his own defences. That first excuse out of his mouth less than stellar, but he aims to sit back, arms around his knees, SCA blocked out of sight intentionally.
"I was seeing how long I could do it for." He keeps the high tune he started with, slowly decreasing it, painting this lie better. "Guess I gotta start all over again...!"
Oh Bother.

Catching sight of an odd blue creature in a glimpse, but then more pointedly, Tidus. In the odd shorts he's seen people wear at the spa sometimes, giving him context he otherwise lacked.
"You and your friend expecting to turn the whole space into a wading pool?" He wades inside, slosh slosh slosh. "I'm impressed! ... This isn't water from the train stores, is it?"
no subject
"Stores? Train stores? Who's putting water in there?" Who is Tidus to pay attention to anything to do with the water on the train, other than it exists. He stands on his feet, which might be a good idea. Mumbling, as he examines the car with a squint: "Everything's intact? ...hmmm..."

Also, they were going to take the opportunity to continue to investigate, and be pains in the ass.
The train deserved it.
He went and found Tidus when he didn't look busy to him, he was just eating or something. He happened to come up behind him and poke him in the shoulder with his knuckle.
"Hey. Got a minute?"
no subject
He swings around his head while wiping at his mouth, confused before making an indignant sound.
"Sneak up on me quieter, why don't you!" Pah, pah!! But always give a Tidus a second to grumble before he becomes more agreeable. "What's up?"

day 20
But time keeps passing and passing, and he isn't there. Which begs the question where Tidus could be, so close to the time that everyone just conks out for the night. Surely the other wouldn't still be playing a game this late at night?
Inigo considers it about ten times over, but worry takes over his heart in the end. It's what drives him to drag himself out of bed, moving through the relatively empty corridors of the train as he looks through carriage after carriage. Not in the arcade for some games, not in the kitchen for a late night snack.
The sports gym is a place that's also high up on the list to look for Tidus, though Inigo isn't too sure why the other would be there at this time. Still, it's worth taking a look at, so Inigo does exactly that--
And the sight that greets him freezes his heart. It'd be startling enough just by itself, Tidus transparent enough to faintly look through him, but Inigo remembers seeing this before, thanks to an illusion. He remembers the fear that clouded his heart back then too, and he near stumbles across his feet as he starts running towards the other, definitely making a ruscus over here with the terrified panic in his eyes.
"Tidus!"
no subject
Even less than actually disappearing - at least, it's easy to think so with the face he sees. Looking at Inigo before he calls out, the sound of his feet smacking against the floor heard first. Eyes widen, and he grabs for the SCA, saying while he's bringing it around his wrist, his wrist near to his chest:
"It's not what it looks like! It's fine, it's cool!"
Fine, cool, please don't have a panic attack in the middle of the night. Which is a useless endeavour in attempting to stop, but there's a reason he did this in here than in their shared bedroom. He knows all the reassuring he'll have to do, and the face he sees already making its way to him has him guilty for being caught.
But at least he's more solid now, and less coloury and see-through.

day 19b
But she was on her way to going to bed when she realised that she left something in the standard coach - her notebook for drawing. Because it's hard to kick old habits, like drawing in the standard coach, even when they've moved most of the art stuff into the quiet room for now.
As Madoka heads back there though to take it with her to her room, she notices that the standard coach isn't empty yet. It's not too strange, since there's still more than a few people up, but it's more Tidus's behaviour that seems strange than the fact that he's sitting there. Why does he looks so.. weirdly flustered? Or maybe awkward? Madoka isn't too sure.
But that's exactly why she tries to offer him a smile in return, hoping it's warm enough to maybe make him feel less awkward.
"Hi, Tidus! You weren't going to bed yet?"

And does it have to be little Madoka he makes a goof of himself in front of? Good job overreacting, self! He flashes her an awkward smile back, a hand curling into a loose fist to bop against the table.
"Naahh... soon, though." Promise! (...pretend to promise!) He glimpses at the darkened window. "Wish we had a proper night sky to look at. Night sky, some wind..."
Taking back the bad decision of downing half an energy drink so late. At least the train won't let him stay awake, but that doesn't give him much comfort. Instead, his words come out flatter than he'd hope, and his fiddles with his hands some more. Good job, Tidus...!!

This was already looking like a not fun day already.
After a moment or two and rubbing the back of his head he finally slowly moved to get up and going to see what the cause of this was and seeing Tidus. The answer was now clearly obvious.
"I assume this was something going terribly wrong?" Yugi asked water dripping from his clothing and his hair which still by some miracle is still standing up even when wet.

Because Tidus doesn't. His hair is drenched with the rest of him, which is at least just skin and the swimming shorts he's wearing. His fringe hangs as he raises his head to see Yugi, an awkward chuckle leaving.
"Aheh... heeeyyy, it's not that bad...! Just..."
He looks around.
"...just a little wet?"
