Who: Atem & Essek, Xichen (others to be added as necessary) Where: Various When: Whole dang month of Merriment What: A number of things. Atem falling asleep random places. Atem drankin' with people. Yanno. Warnings: Nothing yet.
He had never been so exhausted in his life. It felt like even keeping his eyes open was laborious, but such would of course not stop the God-King from attempting to hold his own. And so toward the evening of one day, which day he could not say, Atem grappled his way to the kitchen in search of food.
It took him... longer than it should have. And it was another struggle to get to the dining car (moments of just... standing against the wall and almost falling asleep there did occur) but be damned if he didn't make it eventually. Finding a chair and just missing its seat before passing out, food in hand. Only snapping back to consciousness at the soft sound of footsteps approaching.
Xichen takes his time walking slowly through the dining car; the mission has been over for not a day or two but it still feels so raw. He doesn't know how to recover from it, though he was not one of the many that acted as an anchor.
Instead, Xichen had played his flute and tried to calm those around him. Now, he offers his services all the same to those who are needing it.
He intends to make his way here solely to get food but he notices that there's a man, a teammate, falling asleep over his food. That worries Xichen, who knows how to care for others as a leader better than he does to focus on his own unease and troubled emotions. So, as the man snaps back to consciousness, Xichen stops near him. "Are you alright?"
Many a thing ran through his mind keeping the God-King awake. While most of the train was asleep, Atem found himself meandering and considering his options. The game car of course was first to come to mind but without much challenge he found it... slightly less appealing. One foot after another actually landed him in the greenhouse. Though he was no gardener, he remembered the gardens as a place of comfort.
In it's darkness, Atem never thought he'd find another visitor but upon turning another corner. "Ah," falls softly from his lips. "Essek, is it not?"
Essek traces his fingers over the dirt of a small plot that he asked to have. It was empty now, he needed seeds or cuttings to grow plants here, but what he wanted to grow didn't know. He hoped to ask if Caleb and Beau perhaps if they wanted to grow anything in it, but for the moment, he was his.
The voice makes him look up, the intricate silver jewelry dangling from his ears shifting and shining in what light there is. Ah, he remembers this person from early in the mission.
"It is," Essek gives a polite smile as stands from his kneeling position, still floating a good few inches off the ground. Flicking his hand, he cleans it of dirt magically. "And you're Atem, yes?"
