[CLOSED] Lab incident
Who: Willow & Ienzo
Where: Lab Car
When: Merriment 28
What: Addressing a lab accident
Warnings: Will update as necessary
(Feel free to swap to prose if needed)
[On a routine check of all the cars for anyone that may have not decided to come to medical, Willow's found herself on her way to the lab car, a hunch telling her that the worst offenders would be there and stubbornly working instead of pausing to rest or even get checked out.
Not seeing that anything is amiss, she does still listen to her gut to go check things out and spots one person active in the chemistry area although not sure if something's gone wrong or not. If anything, she could and would sit around to offer any healing for future mishaps.]
Is everything alright in here? This area does tend to see some accidents every so often, I am one of the medics if you need a healing spell.

Well, he'd had gloves on. Just before she came in, in a moment of tired clumsiness he accidentally spilled some of the liquid he'd been inspecting onto his hand. No big deal, right? That's what gloves were for, right? It was fine for the first few seconds, but then the glove began to warp and shrink and heat up. Ohhhhhhhhh no. Ienzo got up and went for the sink, which was a little further than he would've liked to be honest. It was really starting to hurt as it bubbled and heated up, and... was it starting to smoke? Ienzo rarely cursed, but he did this time.
And then, suddenly, he was on fire.
Not dramatically or anything, at least not at first, but as he put his hand under the sink and turned the water on, a not insignificant portion of his palm was literally on fire. He groaned in pain, but at least the fire was out. He didn't want to think about the glove that was probably melted to his skin, or the burn underneath.
It was then that Willow walked in. He sighed with relief after she introduced herself.
"A healing spell would be wonderful. I've managed to spill... I assume it must be something like nitric acid, and I've burned myself."
The table would have to be dealt with too, it needed an acid neutralizer so he could clean it up, but priorities.
[Did you know that nitric acid will set standard lab gloves literally on fire in about 20 seconds? :D]
:O I did NOT know that, damn. TIL! Science is Scary lmao
"Let me see your hands, that is a simple injury for my magic. I have treated far worse, such as shrapnel buried in one of our team leaders."
Holding her hands out expectantly, almost as if her hands are on her hips with the way she does it with demand. She could deal with the glove once she saw the burns for herself.
I watched a video and was like O_O the whole time!
Ienzo held out the injured hand. He'd clearly been wearing a glove, though in this case it had been a bad thing. A decent portion of it was black and ashy, as the fire had spread quickly once it had started. Some of it was definitely stuck to his skin at that point, and underneath the burn was more severe than one might have thought for the brief time his skin had been exposed to the fire, since it had burned extremely hot. At least the injury was confined to one relatively small area. That was something.
"Thank you," he said quietly. "Your timing is impeccable."
I can imagine! I'd have the same reaction too (I don't have a proper heal icon so fire it is)
"You are most welcome. What kind of healer would one be were they to be late?" She gives it another look over, raising an eyebrow as gold eyes look down towards him. "Are there burns or injuries elsewhere you'd need taken care of? Even if it did not happen just now, I can offer my aid."
[I forgot to mention before, but she stands at 5'9 - 5'10 so she's a bit taller than him. Just a bit. Tall bird.]

"No, it was a contained spill, so it was just that hand." Thank god. If it was indeed nitric acid like he suspected, it would still cause immense damage if it made contact with skin directly, just not as dramatically as all that with the glove. He was already contemplating the Very Strong Word he was going to have to have with Vexen about not labelling Very Dangerous Acids.
"And I don't really have any standing physical aliments of note. But thank you for the offer." Physical, anyway. He was shaking a bit now that the adrenaline was draining from him. He'd be fine, he just had to clean up the mess and possibly lie down for a little while.

She nods at him, looking around the car for what the culprit could be, and then sees him shaking. Immediately calming her own presence, having grown used to needing to be calm in varying situations back home, and seeing that she could use that to help others here. Perhaps it could be of use in this moment since fire, to those not used to it or able to command it, could be a frightening thing.
"Will you be alright, ah... I do not believe I caught your name before? Forgive me, I don't often look at the roster. My own name is Willow."

The calming feeling crept into surprised him. There was always a bare minimum buzz of anxiety in his brain at all times, so to have it just washed away was... odd, to say the least. He wasn't sure what to even do with the lack of it. Under any other circumstances, he'd spiral about this, but the calming effect prevented him from getting anxious about not being anxious. As stupid as that sounded.
"Ienzo. It's nice to meet you," he smiled genuinely at her. "I'm sure you know my associate, Vexen. He's been here for quite some time."
no subject
"A pleasure, Ienzo. I do know Vexen, quite the individual who does not seem to understand the definition of resting. Or feeding himself beyond coffee. We have met."
There's a bit of a teasing snort as she makes a jab towards Vexen, knowing the man did do plenty of good things, but by the Tharci she wished he'd rest more. Though she is glad that nothing seemed to escalate in the stress of fire, which meant her calmed presence was helping, even if a little bit.
no subject
"Yes, that would indeed be him."
He paused, considering how to pose his next question without sounding like a crazy person. He just wanted to know. "Does your healing happen to cause psychological effects as well as physical?"
Sorry for delay, have had no brainpower
There's an eyebrow raise and a shrug as she shakes her head before letting out a sigh.
"It is something I am used to doing back home when dealing with... stressful work involving tense situations."
Nah, you're FINE
Ienzo smiles a little bit. "I'm not sure if I want to know, if it's more stressful than going around the train looking for injured people at random. That sounds highly stressful to me."
no subject
"It was, for a time. But when you had to deal with kings threatening war and all sorts of things over sometimes the smallest of reasons? And remind yourself you can't stab them because you're there to keep the peace? That was far more stressful than looking for any injured people here."

He reached up for the acid neutralizer over the sink- next time he was trying to get things labelled, he'd make sure to have that at the table with him, that was for sure- and stepped over to the table to pour it over the liquid still there. At least he hadn't made a big mess and the worst of it had been himself. ....typical, honestly.

Carefully, she watches as Ienzo takes care of the acid, ready to act if necessary. Though with someone fiddling with chemicals, it would only be wise to stick around no matter what. Just in case another accident should happen, and to offer her help.
"Is there anything I can help you with? Other than making sure there's a healer on hand in case something else happens. None of these chemicals would do me much harm if they got on me."
