Details Avoided At The End Also Because Massive Spoilers Attached c.c

"By our chosen paths, we are mortal enemies," Elidibus answers plainly. After glancing at Inigo, his attention wanders to regard the platform, just to be sure all is continuing to be well.

"Though we come from alternate timelines and the Elidibus she knew is not myself, I am still the image of the Enemy for her." Seeing all is largely in order, the Ascian returns his attention to Inigo.

"In that respect it is somewhat easier for me. Though her aether echoes his, she is in another sense not the man I had sworn to see dead." His expression darkens. A little anger, a trace of grief; the latter more than the former. "...Still, when she speaks of my brethren that fell by his... and her hands, it reminds me of what she is. It is not so easily cast aside."

Elidibus composes himself. The calm is the type that is carefully constructed to retain emotions. "Our truce is in part because our battle is not here. She is not... the Warrior of Light from my version of history. And it would be impractical to seek each others' demise in this environment."

Tiny confines are the least of the issues there.

"But I owe the man I know some gratitude. And she, at least, mirrored those actions as well. That much I can acknowledge." There is no indication the Ascian is going to go into detail about what occurred. In fact there might even be an invisible, but tangible impression that one should not ask. Certainly not in public.
