A New Platform [Intro Post September]

On the Train

"Good morning Voidtreckers, it is day one of the month of Nebula. Points have been updated on the system."

With points updated, everyone can spend the morning shopping. Most people will be expecting the second announcement that comes a few hours later.

"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one." A lurch and a jolt and the windows fill with the fog that means they are at a platform.

The doors open. As usual, those who leave first notice nothing, walking silently, rucksacks on their backs, towards the barriers. A-Qing, Atem, Beauregard Lionett, Casper LeBlanc Jr, Donatello Versus, Frankie Bacon, Ichiban Kasuga, Kumoko, Lena Sabrewing, Mami Tomoe, Mono, Peter Parker, Reno, Shi Qingxuan, Tobari, Wen Ning; all pass across the platform, not looking back. And then they're gone, disappeared through the barriers and into the fog beyond.

But on the platform itself there are new faces. Wearing hoodies in all four colours, in various states of confusion.

For New Passengers

At first all they can see is steam billowing around them as they come to their senses. As their eyes adjust, they find themselves on a platform. The platform is open to a bright blue sky, speckled with a couple of clouds. It's very warm, enough that they will not want to stay in those hoodies for long. Behind them through the fogs is a set of barriers, set in a brick wall and in front of them is a single set of tracks extending both ways into that same thick fog.

They are standing, in clothes that are not their own and a style they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on their back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone on the foggy, blistering hot platform; then the fog begins to fade and they realise they aren’t alone.

The platform isn't large, but it is enough to hold the figures scattered around, all facing the tracks, all dressed in cargo trousers and hoodies. Then there is a roaring sound and out of the fog arrives a train. Jet black with gold writing on the side. The Voidtrecker Express. There is a hiss as the doors slide open and out pours a strange assortment of people, over a hundred at least. Some are human, some are less so. Most are wearing the same hoodie in one of the four colours, red, orange, blue and purple, though some are sporting different clothes in a variety of styles.

Behind them, the doors close, and the train is cloaked in the same fog that hides the world beyond the platform.

The Train

After a short time, perhaps ten minutes or so, the fog clears and the doors hiss open again. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there's anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would lead to something terrible. If that is not enough, there are plenty of people on the platform now, to encourage them onto the train.

Each ICP shows the same message and next to the screens there are stacks of leaflets written by those on the train, with further information (see
'Publications'). They will also find a bunch of posters around the train and might notice the new clock in the standard coach.

The store rooms have been restocked with fresh ingredients, the ingredient this month is a strange meat, yaddon tail.

For passengers that have bought items, these are also scattered around the luggage carriage in various suitcases and bags. There is a box labelled for purple team containing a stick of rock for each member of purple team, including those who are new. Join in your teams success!

New passengers will find their ticket allows them into their cabins. In most rooms, the occupied beds are obvious, leaving the spotless, empty spaces for the newcomers. Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches full of spare blankets and pillows.

Departure

A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers taking advantage of the fresh air, and the doors slide shut. Veteran passengers know what will happen next, but they may wish to brief their new companions.

The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view again as it picks up speed.

"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."

The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog-filled sky.

"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated. Entry into Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."

A shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding. As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady itself. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever-changing colours.

Welcome to the Void!

Arrival

A figure appears on the platform out of the fog and instantly falls to his knees. He's too tired to keep standing, and so this is the next best thing to collapsing. He takes a breath and then another, not noticing his strange clothes or the other strange people around him. The roar of something metal has him reach for his sword but -

But it's not there. And he's too tired to panic.

Better to stay down for the moment so he can regain enough energy to stand.


Exploration

What's this? What's that? Ryu has never seen so many things like this before. He's moving slowly but at least he's able to move, and he keeps poking his nose into stuff. The luggage car? There's so many boxes to open up - you might want to stop him before he opens yours. The armory? There's a lot of things here... maybe if he takes some of the stuff he recognizes he can sell it later. The cinema gets a yelp as soon as something starts playing, and the kitchen...

He's been watching people, and they put food things into the box and it looks like it heats them up. So food-related things go in there, right?

Someone please stop him before he microwaves a fork.


Wildcard

Ryu's basically poking his nose everywhere, so it's not hard to find him as he ambles around in a purple hoodie.

Arrival

Razzy is quick to rush over to Ryu, kneeling beside him, looking him over. Checking for sign of injury. "Hey, can you talk? Are you hurt?"

Platform

This, at least, is strangely familiar territory at this point. A routine of sorts. Hera mostly changes back to the uniform for arrival day because there's a useful reason to wear one. She's not just looking for new purples, but it sends the message of being one of them.

She keeps her cap though. Since the train hadn't deigned to provide one.

Chores

After a month, the passengers are free of any risk of having to eat Hera's cooking. Though she did approach it very sensibly. She knew her limits and stuck to chopping for the most part.

Cleaning bedrooms and passenger areas though? That didn't take any specialized skills. Any member of a crew should reasonably expect to have to engage in that sort of sweeping and scrubbing.

Which means any somewhat reluctant purples may find themselves on the receiving end of a Captain Mom look.

Games Room

But the real focus right now is the flight simulator. Trying out the modules Yondu loaded on had been exciting. His world certainly did have some fun craft. But the platform brought along her own additions.

Of course she'd been willing to teach when Yondu asked about it. Flying is a passion and he's right maybe at some point this will even be useful on a mission. They'll need to be ready.

"Do you want to give it a try? The B-Wing is probably a bit much if you've never flown before, but I've added controls for an X-Wing and a VCX freighter that are a good place to learn."

She doesn't expect anyone to know what those mean, but they need to know which programs to call back up later if they want to keep practicing.

There's a man in orange who looks distinctly weirded out by what he's seeing, unsure if it's a dream. He didn't somehow get dragged back to prison, did he? He's in a featureless yard, wearing what superficially resembles a prison uniform...but not everyone's wearing orange. There's red, blue, and purple too. And there's a group of people and...aliens? No, they must be cosplayers. They're coming off the train, marching right through toward the light like zombies.

Another group follows at a much slower pace, looking far more alert. Most of them wear the uniform in its different colors, but not all. They approach, but before they do..Jake has to take in some clues. Like this weird new fitbit. And this ticket with his name on it. And that their hoodies have a train symbol, and hey, the train has a name. 'Voidtrecker Express'.

"...nope, gotta be a mass hallucination. Hey, uh, I don't know what you guys are selling but I didn't buy this ticket!"

Hopefully someone's given him a quick explanation by now, and he has a minute or two left before the horns start. Jake can be found digging through his rucksack, wrinkling his nose at the items. Clothes, toiletries...notebook and pencils?

"Ugh, worse than a space cult, it's a nerd camp? Where's Amy? Love you, babe, but this is more your thing than mine..."

He might be joking, might not. But either way, he sure does wish his lovably nerdy girlfriend was here. In fact, he's just found his phone. No cell service, of course not. But there's a smiling picture of her on the lock screen, which he'll look at fondly for a moment before shuffling it away.

standard

Jake finds himself shoved in a seat in standard with a pamphlet in hand, explaining the alleged truth of the situation. All right, so it's more of a space...humanitarian mission, allegedly? Or wait, if they're not all human, is it beingitarian? Quite possibly!

He's thankfully seated before they rocket off, but he thumps back anyway, head rolling to the side to check out the void. He stares for a little while...at least until his head rolls back down to stare at the notebook in his lap, pages blank.

"Major migraine alert. 'Kay, I'm just rapidly speeding away into the depths of space, further and further from anything I know, no big deal, happens all the time."

library car

"Oh no, an empty library? Man...maybe it's better Amy's not here, it'd break her heart."

Jake takes in the paltry offering of books, rifles through what few papers he can find, and eventually hauls himself upstairs. He rips a few pages out of his nerdy notebook, pops a pencil...and starts jotting down various observations, slowly taking over a whole table with a spread of notes. There's a sketch of various trains zooming from world to world, a mushroom cloud of an explosion, and various stick-people wearing hoodies and...superhero capes? Yeah, that definitely improves it. His makeshift conspiracy corkboard is actually looking a lot like some childhood fantasy drawings. Weird.

"But why not just assemble the Avengaboys? I mean yeah, you've got some heavy lifters, and I'm amazing, sure, but civilians? Child civilians?"

((OOC: As a note, Razzy is fourteen. Canon only has her as twelve. So younger icons kept for expression diversity, but she IS older. Also hair is only to just below shoulders. The struggle of playing a canon preteen for any length of time.))

Platform
Here is a 'fourteen' year old girl in purple, with a kind of strange corgi. Who sure looks like Danny. Razzy blinks as she looks around, glancing down at her clothes, looking herself over, and then at the train as the fog clears briefly. "Voidtrecker Express, huh..."

She looks down at the dog. "Hey Gabriel. Let's do a test," she said, picking up the dog and closing her eyes. She's like that a few moments, before opening her eyes slowly. She looks around and huffs. "Seriously?" She moves her wrist to look at the SCA. "You know, I did worse willingly, you don't have to keep me here by force," she said.

Then closed her eyes again.

"...."

She opens her eyes and huffs. "Ugh, of course. I know your mission is good, but you're on my short list now," she said to the SCA and she lowers the dog to the floor. "Come on, Gabriel. Let's go find Danny. I'm pretty sure he's here."

Cabin L4:D
Razzy will be staring at her name on the cabin for several long moments when she first finds it. "....this conductor is looking for a fight."

She sighed and will go to open the door and see whose inside. Might as well get to know her roommates.

Train: Reading Material
The first thing that gets Razzy's attention is the poster, looking at it with surprise. "Rapunzel and Taiki....?" She murmured. Gabriel barks at her side and she looks down.

"Well, it might be coincidence. Still...art would be fun. Not often I get to draw with other people," she said.

Though after the poster, she'll find a place in standard coach to go over the leaflets. Sitting upside down, feet hanging over the top, head close to the floor, idly petting Gabriel as she goes over the information.

Train: Kitchen
....girl's gotta eat.

And boy, can the girl eat. She isn't making anything overly complicated, but she is all for this Yaddon tail, whatever it is. Sharing it with the dog because she's in a new, weird place. She's keeping her dog with her.

Train: Triage
She is...

Raiding the first aid supplies. Looking through them seriously, and putting some in her bag and others away.

Train: Kitchen

"The bones are better for canids," Eva offers from where she's working on chucking up a bit of tail meat. "Assuming that is a candid? and gnawing a bone won't cause injuries?"

She can't be too sure, what with everyone coming from different worlds.

Farewells and Gets - Platform and Luggage

It doesn't get easier, watching people go. He's pretty sure his chest actually hurts a little when Kumoko does. He'd had these half ass thoughts of having a team again, these lucky moments when he could work with and fight alongside people he trusted. He'd seen how hard she'd gotten people's backs.

He frowns, but doesn't say anything because maybe it's true, what he was told. Maybe it's just an act that the train does to set people at 'ease' or something. Parades out their image like empty automatons. There's a few members of Blue Team in there, ones that helped a lot. There's Kyoko's friend. There's another almost friend he'd made, another well-meaning god.

He does his usual and gets back on the train as soon as his ass can. Goes to find his boxes. There's the one for Vegeta. Materialization tech to pass on to Bulma and make it so his armor can form around him at the push of a button (if she implements it right, which he's sure she will).

And after a little more frustrated digging, anxious and scathed with recent losses, he pulls out his other package. Removes something that looks like a glowstick, and holds it up to shine yellow against his face. It's then that he remembers how to smile, but it's a little more metaphorically sharp than usual.

Feeling Fruity - Greenhouse

The train always supplies them with substantial amounts of food, but everyone's worried about having more. He's got the powers to do this, right? All he has to do is practice with them. Problem is that 'grow' and 'change' are colliding in his head. He can't work on a whole tree worth, he has to do a fruit at a time to test. And what's he done? What the shit has he done? Nothing that makes any ass bit of sense, is what he's done.

He's now sitting cross-legged and looking at a pile of fruit set on a borrowed chair. There's a green striped banana shape peeled to show a watermelon inside. An orange pulled open to show little orange pomegranate seed shapes. A pumpkin broken open, but instead of being lined with stringy squash it's lined as one of the coconuts would be (and tastes very much like pumpkin pie). They're not terrible or anywhere near inedible, they're just offensively not right.

He cups his hands around another one, a strawberry, and when he removes them he's got a red bumpy pear.

"...The hell did I do here?!"

Fruity Fruits

Persephone has a very similar question, she's just not going to phrase it that way. After all, he's told her about big docile bees before. This could totally just be an alien food thing. She ran into some weird fruit at the resort.

Except he's ruining that idea with his obvious confusion. Sidling up beside him, she casually pokes through his assorted fruit adjacent objects.

"... I'm assuming you're trying to grow things? That's definitely succeeding." This orange thing is so interesting. Where is Zagreus? He'd love it.

Kitchens
Sure, Eva doesn't have to be doing this; she's Orange Team, not Blue Team, but shhh. This, for her, is far better than any of the meats from home she'd found at Aquafir. This is part of life, of her childhood and memories of home and the woman is visibly excited as she works on a yadon tail stew (or two), dicing the tails into chunks and sticking them, bones and all, into the pot. She's not even paying (much) attention to the recipe and is humming some sort of victory tune.

"I grew up eating this -pass me that please-" A point with a knife to either a vegetable of some kind, or a bowl of oran/cheri/pinap berries. "You're going to love it, and the recipe's not half bad for it either." A pause, then: "Though, it's hard to tell which type of tail it is, and I'd assume they sourced them ethically.."

There's something in her tone, light as it is, that suggests the tails better have been sourced ethically, or else.

Or maybe you come in as she's working on making yadon jerky, hard at work slicing the tail thing strips, with the bones vanishing into her arms band for later.

"Oh hey. You mind lending a hand here?" She nods towards another of the tails. "Or I can talk you through something else to make with yadon."


Rock Garden, late night
She had a reason to nick the bones from her jerky making: it's to feed them to both Princess and 'Nona, the fox flopped in front of the out of the way bench as he works a bone over with powerful jaws. Princess is beside her, also chewing on a bone contentedly.

"Think I could get a bag o'bones next month?" Both pokemon's ears flick at the sound of her voice, but otherwise, they're too busy with bones to chew to pay much attention. Well, unless someone approaches. Then both pause to eye the newcomer, wary and rather protective of their food.

"Don't mind them; first treat from home in a long while," said she stands and steps over 'Nona to put herself between the person and her pokemon. "What's up?"

Alright, here you go. [Masumi passes the requested ingredient, the curiosity clear in her gaze as she watches Eva cut the meat. However, that curiosity turns to concern at the mention of ethical sourcing.]

Er, what do you mean by 'ethically sourced'? [Is poaching common with this stuff or something?]

A. Platform

Once the train stopped at the platform, Kitty quickly made her way out, muttering a quick apology to anyone she bumped into along the way. She knew that those leaving the train would be leaving first, and she wouldn't be able to catch up to or stop them, but she at least wanted to see them - or at least, one person in particular - as they left.

By the time she was able to get outside, the departing passengers were already close to the barriers. She recognized a few others who were leaving, but she couldn't help focusing on one in particular, feeling tears in her eyes as he disappeared.

She knew that there were other people around. New passengers that would need some help and information as they boarded the train. But she couldn't bring herself to move yet, looking on even after all the departing passengers were long gone.

Just a moment longer...

B. Around the Train

When she was finally able to tear herself away from the platform, she ended up just wandering aimlessly around the train. She moved between different cars, walking from the Standard Car all the way to the Luggage Car before making the trip back again. For some reason she didn't to linger too long in any one place.

A part of her still did keep an eye out for anyone still having some trouble getting used to their new surroundings, though. No matter what car she was in, if she noticed someone needing a bit of help, or looking a little overwhelmed, she put on a smile and greeted them softly, "Hey there...you doing okay?"

Nozomi could see the pain in Kitty's eyes with everyone leaving. She had to admit, she was equally in pain, watching as a certain someone left herself. She let out a shaky sigh as she shook her head, removing her glasses to wipe her eyes.

It wasn't easy at all...

Prompto Argentum | Purple Team | OTA

I. Platform

Prompto was not expecting to see Casper walking away.

It hurt.

He wasn’t in some deep love affair with him, not yet, but Casper had liked him. They’d agreed to start dating and getting closer together, getting to know each other better…

Casper walked away. Not willingly, of course, but it was the kind of thing that had Prompto staring after his form, completely lost in his own thoughts and feelings. He was trying to sort out how he felt, and couldn’t help the fleeting thought that this was the kind of thing that always happened, didn’t it? He wasn’t really suitable for romance.

Standing there, lost in thought either made him an obstacle, or someone who was just standing on the platform when the train was getting ready to leave.

Startling him out of his thoughts, he would force a smile. “Sorry, didn’t catch that, what?”


II. Alone?

He would do his best to smile, help and joke around until he could get away, slipping away to the gym.

Prompto wasn’t sure if anyone was watching, but a run would do him good.

His pace was a bit punishing, like he blamed himself, and at some point, he could be seen wiping his eyes.

Everything was fine, until it wasn’t, and when he finished his run, he collapsed in a heap in the corner, hands over his face.

III. Cinema

He didn’t care what people would think of him at the moment, he put on some animal-themed movie about a star animal doing incredible things and sat down to sulk.

It was sulking, really, but the worst habit was the fact he was sucking on the stick of rock he’d gotten as a prize for the purple team.

IV. Wildcard

".. I said we should get back on the train," Madoka repeats.

But it's not an annoyed kind of repetition. She doesn't mind having to repeat herself here. No, instead the only emotion that fills her voice is one of concern, considering Prompto did really seem like he was spacing out as he was standing around on the platform..

Though she's not too sure if she isn't reading into this too much. But even if she is, maybe it's alright to at least ask: "Are you.. okay?"

Demyx | Purple Team | OTA

I. Platform

Demyx should not care.

He’d been on the platform with his young dog Metronome to give it the chance to stretch out and look around a new place.

“Hey!” He called when he saw Reno, but the other didn’t answer. He just kept walking and disappeared into the fog.

He felt something deep in the pit of his stomach at that. He was his only friend, wasn’t he? In any world?

“Come on.” He murmured, tugging lightly on the leash, going to wait for the quickest opportunity to get back on board and flee from his problem. He looked a little antsy, waiting by the door. Why did he feel so bad?

He shouldn’t care about anyone, he can’t help but think, but Demyx quashes that thought instantly. He was trying to sort out his future. That was him of the past.

He did, however, want whatever he was feeling to stop.


II. Helping Out

His first inclination was to hide in the music room. The problem was, Reno wasn’t going to stop in and see him there.

He felt...well kind of like he didn’t want to be there at the moment.

So instead, Demyx could be found in the dining car, his dog sitting next to him on the floor, his sitar on his lap as he played.

“Hey. Need a hand with anything?”

III. Wildcard

Since it was Blue's turn to clean the kitchens, Lea was going around gathering up abandoned plates to be washed when Demyx addressed him. "You're actually volunteering to help with chores?", he said with mock-surprise. "OK, who are you, and what have you done with Demyx?"

After a moment to hopefully appreciate the joke, though, he smiled. "Jokes aside, I was just collecting up stray plates and getting ready to do dishes. If you wanted to lend a hand with that, it'd be great; one of use could wash and the other dry, and your friend can get any safe-for-dogs food scraps."

EMPORIO - CLOSED PROMPTS

Emporio holds the box with his purchased disk with something of a fearful anticipation filling his being. He's already spent his morning in a tense mood- watching as Donatello left, once again, the boy chewing his lip at the sight.

He probably shouldn't expect him back.

But now, somehow it's worse. What did he expect, he thinks, sending in this request. That it would be impossible? The world, gone, where would the disks come from? The train could blast through time and space and any number of realities, they knew that much, Donatello being able to arrive at all was a sort of proof.

Why couldn't getting a disk work? Carefully, Emporio opens the box and tilts it in the light, trying to make out the Stand upon it.

"A....weapon..?" It looks somewhat like one, but he can't quite be sure. Since he didn't see a face though that's probably good? It's probably not a humanoid Stand, at least, so...

"AH-!!" Right, he has to now actually find-

"Buttercup?" The box folded up, he sets off to find his friend. "...Buttercup? That um...The thing you wanted me to get came in!"

Tidus ; OTA

It's never a good platform. Some meet familiar faces, and maybe that's a positive, but Tidus isn't sure how he'd feel, seeing anyone he knew (or more like, he doesn't want to think about it, to get excited and then know they'll disappear). His heart sinks the most at this moment though, witnessing Webs leave. She was as part of the train as the walls themselves, always tucked away in the dressing carriage, weaving and playing games.

He lets out a breath, saying to no one in particular, "Well, there goes the squad..."

luggage/training gym:

So life goes on. There's orders in luggage for Tidus to grab, a puzzled face made at the ... hard stick he finds (rock candy), holding up his in confusion. But otherwise, there's also what can be found in the luggage car at this time is the sight of a weight bench, and weights. Feel free to bump into him there while he figures the best way to...deal with them.

Or, find him in the training gym, to home them in their destination. Figuring out some corner of the gym to put them in; making each set - the bench, the racks, the metal bars - materialise in a colour of gold.

Though, making the weights themselves appear from nowhere causes a fluster, when the rack hits the fall less than graceful, and a very (not manly) yelp-

the entire rack topples over with a heavy thunk. Fortunately the weights stay on, but now it's...the wrong way.

And one teen adult is standing there, sweating over how to pick it back up...!!

around the train:

In less disastrous activities (debatable), Tidus is armed. ...with clocks. Two alarm clock-sized, and he's sizing up a few of the carriages, trying to make decisions. He stops in the library, looking for a spot where the clock might be good to home. Sits it on top of one of the smaller bookcases, then a table. Tries out the games car, seeing how one might look on the cupboard where boardgames are packed inside. The greenhouse, how about somewhere in here? Or the kitchens?

In the sports gym, however, out comes an actual wall clock - and also up goes Tidus, deciding to climb the cupboards in here, rather sold on sticking the clock up on the wall there.

He'll be distracted if anyone comes up behind; but if you do, you may hear him muttering, "Nails? Arrgh, okay, let's see what we can do...!"

'Sup! Hey, if anyone's into weight lifting, there's some in the training gym now. Uhh, and mind the clock in the sports gym. No smacking it with a ball, 'kay?

Anyhow, I wanted to talk 'bout the B-and-White Squad with Webs gone. The transgates... we're using them on missions, right? We should probably decide which team takes what gate when the time comes, and if we're taking a spare. We can use 'em for getting around to people, without Spider around to help now...

[ Which he says with a dip in his tone; a slip that's gone as he carries on. ]

Inigo is mostly just here to pick up his own package.. If you can even call it a package, really. More like, Inigo is here to pick up his huge machine.

But that's when he spots Tidus already there, bent over a package of his own. In the ideal position to get harassed. Heh.

It's a chance which, of course, Inigo is not going to leave unused. Have a big pat on the back out of nowhere there, Tidus, hopefully it isn't too startling.

It is, after all, followed up by a cheery:

PLATFORM.

For the first time in a while Jiang Cheng is affected by the departures on the platform; it's not his nephew or his brother, which is a relief, but the fact that people he knows and had come to care about, in his own way, have left... That makes him look rather irritable as he stands on the edge, arms crossing over his chest, teeth gritted hard behind his scowl.

He's not there for a very long time - there's no reason to be, not when he doesn't necessarily recognise anyone new in front of him - but he does look as though the scowl on his face isn't going anywhere. Eventually, he turns around to head away, Sandu at his side and Zidian sparking on his finger.

Only for a moment, though; he squashes the lightning quite quickly.

AROUND.

For the rest of the day Jiang Cheng can be found in a number of different places depending on the time of day - and, for a lot of it, his mood as well, which can swing around as oddly as a teenager.

In the mornings, with his early waking hour, he can be found in the gym; for the most part he doesn't draw Sandu for fear of damaging something, and his lightning whip is kept at bay, but he spends almost two hours working on the training dummies, keeping his muscles in shape and ensuring that he stays as fit as he can be between stops with the train. By the end of his session it's clear he's tired, sweaty and bright red, but he seems quite pleased with himself.

In quieter midday hours he can be found in the garden, sitting quietly by himself and enjoying the peace and quiet. It seems, for a little while, that he indulges in some meditation while gazing out at the lotus flowers. It seems as though he's a little bit overwhelmed, even sitting there alone, but he doesn't seem to mind being disturbed too much - depending on who it is, of course.

Finally, he can be found wandering between his room, in the library, reading all the non-fiction books on the Void, or in the kitchen, cleaning.

He was distracted by the company however, and he smiled slightly. "Hey." He greeted. "Need a hand with that?"

Doing something would distract from his hunger for a bit.

Well, here she is again, standing on the platform and watching The Train roll in.

"I really should stop waking up like this, huh, Neuf?" she mumbles, but there's no answer from her astromech droid, only the bustle of the passengers and the confusion of the newcomers around her. She sighs softly, though there's a small smile even as she does so, accepting that this is once again one of the Force's mysteries and all she can really do is go along with it. She also spares a glance at the SCA on her wrist, and takes a moment to check the color of her hoodie and the details on her ticket. Yeah, same assignment. Purple, Lower 4E.

She should hop on and check in with her teammates, then. And her mother (but not really) too, so as she starts to make her way on board she reaches out with the Force to seek out familiar presences.

[ 1. Arrival ]

Terris is used to sleeping on the cold, hard ground. He's hardly ever minded it. There were worse things, after all. It isn't until the heat in his hoodie becomes uncomfortable that he wakes up. With a yawn and some bedhead, he sits up, taking a short look around.

"Is it summer?" He asks, still half-asleep. He blearily looks around and doesn't see his robot companion. "Hey, Nike?" He asks out, giving his stomach a scratch as he pulls off his hoodie.

...Wait, this isn't his hoodie. And there's no answer from Nike. And that's when it finally clicks. He grips the hoodie in his hands, looking at it with wide eyes. Then he looks rapidly around the platform. Faces he's never seen before, he jolts up and actually raises his voice.

"Nike!?"

Shit, the bureau is going to kill him for losing her. And just where is he, anyway? He has an expression of he's not sure to be more surprised or worried.

"Why am I in someone else's clothes!?" is the first question he manages to ask when he frantically gets up to you. Help him, he has questions!


[ 2. Trains 'n Treats ]

So... he just got here and he gets a candy? But only the purple ones do? Not that he's complaining, sweets are awesome. And he supposes this will do for consolation, for now.

Of course, he walks around with this giant candy rod in his mouth, sucking on it like a child with their first lollipop, switching sides occassionally. It's not that he didn't have sweets back home, he just never did much to seek them out. Living paycheck to paycheck in a rundown building with a robot might do that to you.

Well, he's off in Lalaland as he wanders the train, rod still in his mouth, and it can't be said that he's paying attention to exactly what he's doing. Exploring the train maybe? But he's not really looking at anything. And then he walks into a door as it opens, which is unfortunate for him, because it hits that candy rod. A large chunk of the candy falls to the floor, but not before he feels a forceful shove into his throat. He doubles over, coughing (good, he's not choking), the rest of the treat ending up in his hand, making a slimy candy mess. But when he's able to regain his composure, the first thing he does is mourn the loss of his candy rod.

"Awe, man... My candy."

He actually pouts a little. He was eating that. What a bitter way for a sweet to go.


[ 3. Departure (Closed to roommates) ]

Terris is finally getting his footing about just what's going on around here. Weird that he showed up in a place like this, but it can't be helped. And after all the excitement thus far, he figures he might as well get himself situated. He finds the room he's staying in and sees the beds available.

And he just... flops, facedown, onto one of them. No he didn't check if it was taken by someone else and their effects. Was that a groan he made? They didn't look it, but he'd kind of hoped these were softer. Oh well. It probably beats sleeping on the ground. Probably.

He can't help but think of Nike. With Terris gone, will she be assigned to someone else? Will she be decommisioned until his return? He has no idea when he's coming back. Apparently no one here does.

...He hopes they don't just turn her off. Even if it means she has to be assigned to another agent.

But his mood instantly makes a shift the second he hears someone enter. Or maybe you've been there all along. Eitehr way, he just now noticed you. And a big smile goes on his face.

"Hey there, roomie. It's roomie, right? How's it going?"

1. Arrival

A young (?) man in a red polo shirt overhears Terris calling for another in a panic. Seems this is a place to step in.

"If you had a companion, they may not have been called." Elidibus takes a thoughtful pause. "Nike, was it? There is no one of that name on the roster, either newly arrived nor a current passenger."

The man focuses again on Terris. Something about him, really. He may look twenty-something, but he has the eyes of someone far older. Well, it should be fine. He seems polite enough.

"As for your clothes, they are provided by your new patron, along with the satchel. There may be some item from your Star within. Pray examine it when you have a chance."

Okay so he does have a oddly archaic way of speaking, but that's fiiiine.

Platform Time

The melancholic relief of Cherry's departure the previous month is heighted as she watches Casper's form disappear off into the distance, and Q'uila allows herself a few moments to wallow in the feeling before pulling herself back together as the Train doors open for a brief break "outside". The blue sky of the platform certainly helps buoy her mood and makes her smile a little more genuine as she greets any new arrivals near her.

"Hello! I know 'tis a little daunting but I can have a crack at answering any questions you might have!"

Magical Metallurgy

Being stuck back on the train means trying to keep herself busy and so Q'uila's little section of the lab car is open for business, when Q'uila isn't off seeking those who had previously commissioned her for smiting or enchanting that is.

She has also made sure to update the little notice she had stuck in the various common places on the train:

When on missions, please keep an eye out for scrap metal. The extra metal will be used to make various weapons and devices that the whole train can use.

Anyone who does come to the lab car she greets with a wide, enthusiastic smile, "Hello, what can I do for you today?"

Luggage

Usagi had an idea or two and, thankfully, she was able to get what she needed when she ordered from the shop. It took her awhile to find it, but she smiled as she took the bag with her name on it and opened it, revealing five gemstones. Three crystals, two rubies.

Taking a crystal out, she looked it over a bit, eying it.

"Augh, I'll need to work on these. I don't even know if the plan'll work..."

Standard Coach

Once the train was back in the air, Usagi decided to make her way over to the standard coach car. It had something she was looking to make, but she needed to see how it worked.

...and the poor girl was in over her head. It seemed simple, but she was confused about how it worked. She was certain she was missing something here.

"So... I can use anything to make something? I guess?" she uttered, confused. She sighed and shook her head. "I wish I paid a little more attention to things!"

Training Gym

After that embarrassing incidents with both the time magic she used and the confusing telekinesis, Usagi decided to head for the training gym to test them out again. The best thing, she figured, to do was to transform into Sailor Moon and try to use her Moon Tiara Action as a means to test both powers.

That was a stupid idea. The telekinesis was a dud again, leaving her trying to dodge her own weapon. However, there was a certain grace to her dodging - this wasn't a panicky girl uncertain about her place in the world, but a warrior who knew what she could do and some of her limits.

It was like a dance, watching her dodge everything. Even more so as the frisbee-like attack danced around her. If it cut her costume or even those long pigtails of hers, a flash of dark green magic and it would be whole again.

This was actually fun...

Training Gym

Sizhui had taken to going to the Training Gym at least once a day to practice. Today when he stepped in, someone else was already using the gym, dodging some kind of flying weapon. He immediately pulled his sword out of the maroon and black pouch at his side and holds it, observing in case she was being attacked by the flying thing.

His eyes widened as he witnessed the dance between the two and if the girl was hurt, some sort of strange magic seemed to immediately fix her. He sheathed his sword and held it by his side, waiting for her practice to be over to introduce himself.

I. Cabin (Morning)- Mostly roommates but someone could stop by for...reasons?

Morning comes and with it the usual odd awakening at '6am' on the dot. It passes without notice, though a glance around the room shows they've lost a roommate this platform stop. It's fairly unremarkable. People disembark, the bunk shows up mysteriously cleaned when everyone wakes up.

What is a little unusual is the pattern seems to have changed for the new arrival's assignments. Once Elidibus checks the day's notice and updated roster, he's somewhat surprised to notice there are many new passengers, but none of the first two carriages have had the arrivals assigned to occupancy. Instead, they're all in the fourth carriage?

"Strange." He didn't expect the train to change its method in this particular instance. Was there something unusual about this particular platform?


II. Platform

As usual, Elidibus exits the train for the platform wearing the train's polo shirt (in red) and khaki pants; the standard kit for Voidtreckers. Just your standard guy in his twenty-somethings, short brown hair and blue eyes. Fighting fit even! He hardly pays attention to the stream of people leaving in their usual trance-like shuffle for the barrier; it's easy enough to see who's new and who's no longer present by checking the roster and he's observed a few of these 'departures' already. A glance is all it takes to ascertain there was nothing particularly new about this batch.

So on to those that newly arrived and others who are streaming out to the platform for their various reasons. One of his priorities is to watch for conflicts that will go beyond verbal aggression and actually endanger others on the platform. As long as nothing immediately attracts his attention as a 'risk', the man will move on, looking for secondary problems.

You know the usual. Confusion, dismay, denial of the reality new arrivals are finding themselves in.

Should anyone find themselves particularly puzzled or lost, they might hear a calm voice politely asking them a question.

"Do you need aid?"


III. Library Car (After Train Departure)

The items he ordered from the shop were fetched. One tucked carefully away in storage. The other...

Elidibus claimed a reading desk in the library and sat down to investigate. 'Colouring Book for Mindfulness', with a packet of colored pencils and pages of wonderfully soothing geometric shapes to color in and give peace of mind. The concept of the book was cheerfully written on the back cover even.

The Ascian frowns as he slowly flips through the 'activity book'. While he doesn't look lost, he does appear puzzled.

"Is such a simple task really meant for mortal adults?" He looks at the back cover again. It does say adults and children alike.

Perhaps this is a jest?


IV. Late Night Cooking Practice (An Unintended Ambush) - Closed to Q'uila

His first day of the meal preparations assignment for Red Team went without a hitch. Practice had paid off and as long as he stuck to recipes he'd taught himself or prep work, he was fast, efficient and seemingly effortless in his support. What he had cooked tasted 'by the book' good. Overall, excellent progress for someone that had to relearn the concept of tastes, much less cooking itself.

He'd avoided the yadon tail, as he'd not known what it was or how to prepare it. But he'd watched others; fixing the tail, making other recipes. And there was much more to learn from the books he'd borrowed from the library with a number of recipes. Tonight it was bread.

The kitchen smells of freshly baked bread, sure to attract some of the late night folk eventually. Which is good! Because there are rolls waiting on a platter- still warm- and a loaf of bread with a few slices cut off. Butter and jam are already present and Elidibus had gone to the storage to find other condiments appropriate to try out. Peanut butter maybe? Garlic certainly. Cheese was still in the icebox as well as a few other things that would probably be best left waiting until he gets to that trial. But surely some sliced meats and the like are present!

It's an Unintended Ambush in any case, with delicious bread as bait- and no, it would not do an Archon proud, he did follow the recipes in the cooking book to the letter- and Elidibus exiting the storage area with a small collection of condiments.

Bread Betrayal

Q'uila was having fun burning the midnight oil, sketching design and idea after the other but not even the drive to enterprise could eternally stave off her hunger which is why the pink Miqo'te finds herself quietly drifting towards the kitchen for a snack. As she reaches the kitchen the scent gives her pause.

Bread. Fresh-baked bread.

She had to try some! Popping into the kitchen greets her with the sight of the rolls and bread slices, butter and jam tantalisingly included in the fair. And I dulge she will! Her ears perk up when she grabs a slice of bread and spreads a thick helping of butter on top, taking a moment to appreciate the way the butter starts to melt, before taking a large bite into the bread and butter.

"Mmmmm~" The power of fresh bread is fully demonstrated as Q'uila moans happily, tail and ears wiggling as she savour the warm, fluffy, butteriness-

Only to nearly choke of the bread as Elidibus enters the corner of her vision and shocks her into splutters and coughs, Q'uila thumping her chest to dislodge the bread that had decided to go down the wrong tube in she surprise.

I. Arrival... and Departure

Seeing people go is always hard, he knows, but it hasn't affected him nearly as badly as many of the others all the previous times he'd witnessed it. He recognizes the relative of Yugi's that had been friendly to Thanatos, and he recognizes Peter, but other than that he has not had a chance to properly meet most of the others leaving.

But then he sees two familiar figures and his heart immediately leaps into his throat. No, not them. Please not them.

He rushes out the door of the Train just in time to see Kumoko present her ticket, and disappear through the gates. "Kumoko!" He calls after her, but she doesn't acknowledge him, as he halfway knew she wouldn't. It stings, but not nearly as much as seeing Casper shoulder past him like he was a stranger, or even worse an inanimate object.

"No, snap out of it, cousin...!"

Zagreus clutches at Casper's shoulder, but it gets harder and harder to pull against him as he moves closer to the ticket gates. The prince still tries, clutching onto his shoulder, then tugging at his wrist and arm, then finally resorting to tugging at Casper's clothes. But still, it is not enough.

"No, no, Cas, no-!"

He sinks to his knees, then, watching Kumoko and Casper and the others all fade into the fog.

II. Train Time

Well this is just rude, Train. You've given him something he actually has to cook in order to eat! At least with everything else so far he'd been able to eat it raw... sort of. (Let's pretend the avocado incident and the coconut incident never happened.)

You can occasionally spot Zagreus in the kitchen doing Red Chores, cooking up a mediocre meal of yaddon tail in the recommended sauce via the ICP's recipe, and making some vegetable medley for the non-meat-eaters. He knows at least one, and surely there's got to be more on board!

He can also be found doing Blue Chores. Gasp! He's not great at cleaning, but he's certainly doing his best at getting the important parts. Give him a few pointers if you're on Blue Team? (He certainly hasn't been helping you do chores before this point, to your knowledge.)

And finally, Zagreus can be found practically every day in the Garden car, tending to a small little plant in a container while usually frowning - though whether it's due to his inexperience with gardening or the plant itself is anyone's guess. He always tries to hide it before anyone can see it, but passengers may be able to catch a glimpse of a growing avocado seed in the pot, if they know their botany!

Ryu wanders into the garden car and frowns, cradling the right side of his face. He takes a step, then another, before stopping near Zagreus. He's been getting weird tugs this way and that, but -

"... You're another Endless?" But his avatar looks... not like the ones he's seen before.

Arrival

[Thankfully, the heat never tended to bother him much anymore. It was annoying, certainly, but bearable despite. Really, Kabuto's just happy to have his dark brown cloak that currently has the hood pulled down. It mostly masks the obnoxious orange he now finds himself in, a color he's not fond of in the slightest.

A slight huff escapes his lips before a hand pushes away a stray bit of silver bang from his face.]

Genjutsu or an actual kidnapping attempt... [He muses to himself for a brief moment, taking his time to look around the platform at the various other people. None seem familiar to him, meaning that either option is still plausible. Genjutsu can feel like reality, after all, which isn't quite helping.]

I suppose the best option forward is to see what all of this is. [Meaning go along with all of it. Hopefully he can push through this crowd easily enough without causing some sort of fight.]

Train

[Being a ninja, and a former spy at that, it's imperative to him to figure out and memorize the layout of the train. Or, at least, the places that are relevant to his interests. Meaning that he can be found in a few different places.

One of these would be the medical coach. Where one may find him inspecting everything with a practiced hand and eye. From the recovery rooms, to the normal examination room, to the surgical area. Everything is examined and one might be lucky enough to find him testing the sharpness of a scalpel on his own self. It's probably fine.

Another might be the garden where he's... honestly a little unimpressed at finding a rock garden than a practical one. Medicinal plants could have been grown, being... far more useful than all of this. He's mostly quiet as he observes, though the frown is obvious on his expression and posture a bit tight.

Luckily the greenhouse is far more impressive in that regard and far more putting his mind somewhat at ease for what this place does have if things go south. Medicinal herbs were a huge thing back home and he's not against keeping to what he knows and it would seem that at least one other someone, or someones as he doesn't know the details, had the same thought process. He does not touch any of the plants, but one might find him at least examining the plants with a gentle hand and ignoring literally anyone else who may come upon him.]

[ It's not really surprising to find people in the garden carriage.

.. It's a little more surprising to find them just.. standing around and looking grumpy, for some reason. Alice isn't too sure if this guy is new or just someone on the train she hasn't bothered to remember, but the fact that he's frowning as he's looking around sure stands out to her.

Not that she has much of a leg to stand on here, considering the resting grumpface she's got and all.. But still. ]

What's wrong? [ She asks, clearly more curious than necessarily concerned. Alice can't help but want to snoop a little in odd situations like this. ]

Thanatos | Red | OTA

Platform: Without so much as a goodbye

So many... so many are leaving. Thanatos watches them go. They're silent, focused on nothing but going past that barrier. Then, they're gone. Just like the ones who have left earlier, even if he hadn't been in the right mind to react then.

"Why don't people ever say goodbye?"

The feeling hits him with a sudden clarity, and maybe that's why he shudders as he feels something tickling his neck again. These people are gone, out of his life, without any last words of goodbye, and he is left not knowing where they are going, if they are suffering, at peace, or if there is a chance of seeing them ever again.

Thanatos is on the other side, like a mortal in mourning from someone's sudden passing.

He's left staring for a moment longer before he tugs his red hood over his eyes (and shades) more to protect him more from the sun. There are no new Reds on the platform, not many newcomers at all. As soon as the train doors open again, Thanatos thinks he should leave and let others handle the welcoming. He want to give the train his thoughts on all this.

Kitchen: Ratatouille but with a mouse plushie?

With the new month, a new chore is given to the Red Team, and it's the hardest one for Thanatos. He doesn't eat regularly. He only just learned to start cooking on the train the last time this chore came about. (His first chore, technically.)

"Blood and darkness..." he mutters, looking at the ingredient on the table. His Chthonic Companion, Mort, sits beside it. "What is this?" Maybe he'll just stick to something he feels confident enough to cook without wasting food. Omelets day or night?

Mort gives a sympathetic squeak and twitches his round nose at Thanatos. Thanatos stares.

"... Mort, did, did you just...?" Mort wiggles his nose again. It's not like he was in Jinnjar, but there's no mistaking it. "You're moving. H-How?"

Oh, Vexen's not going to like this platform. It's hot and sunny and it's enough to make him take off his orange hoodie to reveal his red shirt underneath. He ties the hoodie around his waist and starts to wander around, specifically looking for any other kids his age... but anyone who looks lost might find an eleven year old staring at them.

Even if you're not lost, he's still wandering around and enjoying the fresh air.

Ken slips into the luggage carriage when there doesn't seem to be anyone else around. He pokes through the boxes and bags, looking for one with his name on it.

He could use some help, since what he's getting is a lot smaller than he's expecting.


[Cinema]

'You'll never take the Jewel of the Seas, Sharktacula!' A man in a red suit yells at the monster that is clearly a man in a rubber shark suit.

'1Mwehehe! That's what you think, Red Hawk!' He squirts water at the man and his group, who begin to pull out swords and guns and start fighting.

Ken's watching this with interest, but oddly he's crammed himself up in the corner of the car, away from where it's easy to spot him as someone first comes into the car.

Sorry, Ken. You should know the first rule of any carriage here on the train - they never stay empty for long.

So even though he sure entered this one while it was empty, it's suddenly no longer empty when Madoka enters the carriage, ready to pick up her own things. She doesn't seem to mind someone else's presence, instead just smiling as she spots Ken there.

"Ken-kun, hi! Were you picking something up too..?"

Package claim!

Expecting to get something interesting, Xehanort's one of the first back on the train once platform time is completed, making a beeline RIGHT for the luggage carriage. Radiant Garden had plenty of weapon options, and he hadn't dictated exactly which one he wanted, so it would be interesting to see which one the train picked out!

What awaits him is definitely a weapon of ... some sort. It has his name on a tag on it, and a very nice bow, so it's very obviously meant for him, and the sword or very elaborate axe is picked up easily in spite of its size and considerable weight and studied with interest. This isn't something he's seen before in Radiant Garden. (Or has he? It felt.. familiar.) He steps out of the way of other people looking for their new things and settles on an empty suitcase to study it with obvious interest.

The beast theme is not something he'd expect of Radiant Garden either, the subtle menace didn't suit that world's bright and cheerful nature. He runs a finger along the leading edges to test their sharpness and finds they are indeed honed to a razor edge - one index finger is promptly popped in his mouth, a tiny thread of crimson left against the silvery edge. "Well!"

He's going to have to get some practice in. "On to the next obvious question.." He's defintiely talking to himself, as he heads for the door of the luggage carriage again, "..Is this thing a sword or an axe?"

Games carriage!

At some point he's wound up in the games carriage, still with the keyblade, bow and tag and all. It's currently lying on one of the low tables, with a suitcase of Duel Monster cards sitting on top of it. He's busy frowning at the handwritten rules. He definitely has NOT gone to Yugi or Kaiba for help, a good part because he has no idea who the hell they even are, and isn't inclined to find out.

Baggage train/between carriages

Trying to navigate the train on arrival day is something Sonya felt she'd never get used to, or even attempted if she could help it; too chaotic, too disorganized even when (or perhaps because) everyone was trying to help.

She had a reason though. Her knitting needles had arrived, and though she wasn't too happy about only getting one color of yarn, but it was certainly a start.

Parcel held close, she made her way to her own cabin, muttering apologizes as she occasionally bumped into someone.

Quiet coach

There's comfort in the clicking and pull of the needles. She'd picked up the hobby when she was pregnant with Cassie, and her therapist years ago suggested taking it back up as grounding. Then there was her talk with Soldat, and she finally decided to take the plunge and buy a set of them.

She had no true idea what to make of course. The purple might be for Cassie, but maybe just something for herself-something not red either.

She's still thinking on things (or not thinking), when she hears someone nearby, but only affords them a slight glance.

Kitchen

Red team was in charge of meals for the month. Sonya wasn't too familiar with the kind of meat provided, but it looked like beef-so she'd treat it as such.

Making chili con carne would require several hours, and given the way events were, she figured most wouldn't have the patience for it. Pot roast seemed a good substitute, and she could make it in large batches.

As it cooked, she started to work on making some corn bread, making use of beef drippings instead of bacon. Not exactly traditional, but when was she to stop that.

Selene's in the luggage carriage too, and she's delighted to find a suitcase with her name that she doesn't even wait to get back to her cabin to examine its contents. Shuffling over to a corner, she opens it and starts pulling out the assortment of clothes inside.

Then she stands and holds one up against her, turning to the nearest person in the carriage — Sonya. "What do you think?" she asks excitedly. She's already not wearing the standard-issue Voidtrecker clothes, having gotten a couple of dresses at the resort, so is it really any surprise that she's done some more shopping?

I. Newcomers and Old Friends

While Soldat didn't stay out on the platform for more than a moment, they did see who left, and they did prepare a lot of cookies. So they return to the kitchen car to put together a plate, and go around the train, looking for people unhappy by loss or uncertain by arrival, and offer the plate.

They're clearly purple team, dressed in all purple but for their black combat boots, with the metal arm covered by two layers of shirt and a hoodie. "Doing okay?" they ask.


II. Music and Munchies

The day after the platform, it's back to work. Soldat has their tablet propped up on the counter in the kitchen car against their lantern, playing jaunty pop music today, putting together breakfast and lunch and dinner, and meals for the next mission. Not as many meals as usual, because the past two missions hadn't really needed much in the way of outside supplies. The Arms band is pretty well-stocked.

Also, experimenting with the new ingredient. It's a weird texture for meat, but they'll try what they can for sandwiches, roasts, and stews.

As they work, they munch. Trail mix snacks, granola bars, bits of sliced fruit... ingredients from whatever they're working on for on-board meals... and the pendants on one of their necklaces, just chewing absently while they work.


III. Training Time

Every evening after dinner, Soldat is in the training car, either walking some new student through the very basics of how to fall or break a hold or stamp on someone's foot to get away, or whirling through a dance with blades, against an invisible opponent. Their lantern is set off to one side, or sometimes slung over their shoulder, giving themselves more practice defending it.

When interrupted, they offer a small smile. "Need something?"

Q'uila perks up when she spots Soldat in the training car and greets him with a smile and a wave.

"Ah, just the person I was looking for! Are you free for a few, I have something I need to talk to you about?"

He knows who is likely to leave today, and he doesn't watch in any obvious way. He has his blanket, like he has now for several platforms, and this time he comes armed with food: his attempt at scallion pancakes, the unleavened flatbread hit and miss for how well cooked it is. Some pieces burned partly, and those he keeps more to himself, but he has them as a whole out on a plate for anyone so interested, while likewise offering... well, by the looks of it, empty glasses and a pitcher of...

"Water," he says, nodding toward it. "Help yourself!"

He'd remember to drink for Wen Ning later, knowing that he, at least, lived, and would be able to continue pursuing a life of his own back home. A-Qing...

He bites into a partly burned slice of scallion pancake, and swallows.

Food is always something that he and Xian-ge always shared back home. The slightly burnt smell is familiar and Sizhui makes his way over. His smile is soft, kind, but there's a tinge of sadness there today. Without a word, he steals a burnt pancake from the pile that Xian-ge seems to be keeping away from people.
