"That's interestin'. I got... well, I know they ain't real memories, they're half faded already, but that fake me. Sometimes the plants around 'im would get thorny, or all the flowers would change colors if he got upset. He didn't even have to be touchin' 'em or too close to make it happen. Right now I gotta be right up on somethin'."

He remembers what she said about her powers before, way back when he first arrived.

"Mind if I see ya do it? If it ain't too much trouble? You're the expert. Maybe I can take a pointer."

He could change the parts of a plant, but change, as it turns out for him, is easier than 'grow'. Not out of ability, but out of a temperamental wandering mood. He manages how he lashes out with his emotions less, but the temper is still there.
