Catnapping - OTA
Who: Spark and whomever
Where: All around the train
When: After the mission, before the platform
What: Spark being introspective while trying to pretend he's still just... Spark
Warnings: Angst, possible violence mentions.
Spark often claimed that he slept through missions to explain why he was absent from them, so he was free to have Gar or Privateer Pirate show up. But this time he actually had slept. He'd been sleeping a lot since that world with the fake lives, that one that felt so much like a storm from Nautilus.
But he was....
Lonely. That was it. He was lonely.
He was more settled now than he had been after the fish world, but he was still barely eating and avoiding people. Or had been. He just...
He wished Adrien would show up here. Or The Doctor would know who he was. Rose. Nino. Connie. Nita. Kirika. Dominic. Greg. Donovan. Luna. He'd even take Jacob or Gabriel at this point, though each had their issues. Of course if he was bothering with wishing... Quilt.
He shook himself and walked through the train, looking for someone who needed a cat to snuggle with, or tell their problems to. Or a friendly face from Nautilus, since none from his real home or Paris were here...

"Spark, if you give some a gift, and they break it, that's not your fault. If you trust someone and they betray that trust, it's not your fault. If you share part of yourself with someone and they abuse that privilege, it's not your fault. The actions that others may take that hurt you or your friends are not your fault. You are not responsible for the actions of others. Do you understand?" Her turn was firm, but gentle. This was something Spark needed to learn and understand, as difficult a lesson as it may be.

"The truth is though, Spark, life is never going to be easy, or safe, for people like us or our friends in Paris. So if you try and wait for it to be so before you let yourself be happy or trust people, you're going to be waiting a very long time. Getting hurt is always going to be a possibility, for you, and for them. But isolating yourself to try and avoid it isn't a solution. And you know it."

"If you need advice or support, I'll be here. But the first steps are ones you have to take yourself."

"And yes, things were certainly easier for a great many of us before Nautilus got involved. But tell me, Spark, do you regret having grown? And do you think you could truly go back to being that simpler version of yourself now that you have?"
no subject
"Maybe not... but I do regret that any of us left Nautilus. At least we were together there..."
no subject
"And yes we were. But not all of us had a choice about leaving, and for those that did, it was their decision to move on. Whether or not it was the right one depends on the individual, but sometimes people need to do that. Sometimes people's lives simply go in different directions."

"But Adrien, Nino, and I... we didn't choose. Most of us didn't get to choose!"
no subject
"And sometimes, that happens too. Life takes unexpected turns, and the multiverse is notably unfair. That doesn't make behaving recklessly to get what you want out of it any better of an idea."
