Trying to make sense of things

Library

Usagi wanted to know more about what they were dealing with. She went to the library to where all the info they had compiled since long before she joined. As she did, she couldn’t help but be amused with herself. Years ago, she’d be hard-pressed to study. She was certain that had her life wasn’t what it was now, she would have let some other genius do this.

Now, here she was, trying to make sense of what happened before they all boarded.

“World miners…” she uttered, looking at the info on Captain Halo. “Could they…?”

Training Gym

With the research on pause for the moment, Usagi decided to focus back on her powers. After that trip where her powers were on the fritz, she needed to make sure things were okay. Arriving in the training gym, the transformed once more and began her routine again, this time using her Moon Tiara Action as a target, using her other magicks to try and tag it.

Thus, there’s a yellow blur zipping through as Usagi unleashes ice, fire and lightning at the chakram, doing her best to dodge her own weapon

Danny absolutely should not have been out of bed yet. He'd run himself completely dry of energy in this mission, and he still wasn't anywhere near recovered.

...Like he'd let that stop him.

He goes into the gym, thinking about at least getting in some flying practice. Only to blink in appreciation.

"Nice. Ice, fire and lightning?"

“Oh! Hey! Yes, that’s right.” Usagi said, deciding to see if she can multitask training and talking. “I have other magic, but I focus more on these. Plus, I want to make sure everything is okay.”

With that, it dawned on her. “How are you feeling?”

"Oh, I'm perfectly fine. I just need some more sleep and I'll be back to normal." That may have been more convincing if he hadn't broken into a huge yawn halfway through.

"Cool! I don't know much about magic, but its always cool to meet another ice user."

[another_moon]

"You should probably go back to sleep, then!" Usagi said, noting that yawn.

"Oh, wait, you use ice, too?"

"Eh, I'll get back to it in a bit. I usually spend a few days sleeping after missions, anyway."

He taps the center of his chest. "I've got an ice core. Comes in super useful sometimes."

Gym

"Interesting..." That transformation before fighting, too. She's seen different people from different worlds have to 'transform' like that, and it seems to mainly be a thing for girls - young women - who then exhibit magical powers.

How strangely consistent.

"Hmm? What is?" Usagi asked, multitasking as she continued her training.

"Your magical... transformation, would you call it? Where you only use your powers after summoning some kind of frilly outfit." They seem to range from practical but cute, to having your hair grow an extra three feet (looking at you, Pretty Cures). "There seem to be a number of worlds with similar concepts, in the same way that giant, bipedal war machines like those from my world appear elsewhere."

"It is interesting." Usagi said. "Though, I must admit, I've been trying to adjust my costume so it isn't as... frilly... as you say."

Usagi barely dodges her weapon, nicking part of the longcoat she wears.

"Though, war machines in your world?"

"I don't think that's the worst thing, but..." It's not what Ple Two would go for if she had the choice. She's a practical kid.

"Mobile suits, we call them. Combat models range from around sixteen meters up to nearly forty for special purpose units."

“I would say such things are impractical but I’m more than certain what I use is just as impractical.” Usagi said.

"Many worlds seem to simply operate on very slightly different rules. It's a bit taxing to adjust, isn't it?"

"It does." Usagi admitted. There's another casual dodge. "Trying to understand how one world works compared to the next..."

[pleple]

Impressive how easily she moved while holding a conversation, too. "At least yours works like a few others, or close to them. I wonder how they compare and contrast, but I doubt there are any instruments to measure it."

"Honestly, I would love to figure that out myself." she said. "I know the magic between us is vastly different."

[pleple]

"Girls like Mami and Kyouko... had some very harsh conditions to theirs. But I wonder if that could even just be outright fixed using knowledge from your world."

[another_moon]

"They might. The Kyoko I befriended wanted me to build a special brace for Mami before she left. I'll keep it just in case. I want to help them as much as I can."

[pleple]

"Mami... is far too sweet to be put through something that horrible." She's Madoka's friend, but she's Ple Two's as well now.

[another_moon]

"I know. If she ever comes back, I hope I can help her in some way..."

Another dodge, though a little close, cutting the bow on her chest.

"If not, I'm not sure I won't try and track her down in her own world." Ple Two has big plans for how little knowledge she has of how to accomplish them. "Ah. Don't let me distract you too much."

Usagi laughed at that. "No, no, it's okay!" she admitted. "It helps me understand what I'm doing wrong. I don't have any partners in my world, but I do here on the train."

At the best, Ple Two can see that Usagi's dodges not only protects her body, but the brooch on her chest.

"Well, your agility and awareness are pretty amazing." It didn't feel like she had anything like Ple Two's newtype senses - just her own experience, perhaps.

"Thank you!" Usagi would keep going, continuing to show Ple her skills. "I hope I am not making you jealous - I don't want to upset anyone..."

[pleple]

"Mm? I'm not quite as specialized at fighting on foot, even after all this time, but I'm just glad to have strong allies." Dodging things and shooting a gun was about all she had going for her.

"I see--" Usagi began as she did a flip, the tiara buzzing her again and this time clipping the bow, sending it and the brooch on it flying towards Ple.
