Spark was still trying to convince people he was his usual self. Talking to Leia helped. So now he was trying to get back into having everyone realizing what a punster he was. Getting himself seen again. So he was wandering around, looking for puns to make and people to hear them.

DOOM APPROACHED ON FOUR LEGS.

Well. Maybe not so much doom as a puppy. A friendly, enthusiastic puppy, charging full-tilt towards Spark.

"Well someone's really legging it today," he quipped, jumping up to the top of one of the seats.

The puppy didn't follow, but he certainly seemed eager nonetheless, turning a circle as he yipped.

A moment later, much heavier footsteps clomped up the train isle. "Now where did you go..."

"That's some dogged chasing if I ever saw any..." He called over.

"Oh! I hope he has not given you any trouble!"

Orisa hurried over, lowering herself to scoop up her puppy.

"You should not run away and you know this."

"Nah. Fur real I have no problem with dogs."

[stillnewatthis]

"He has not been exposed to cats very much, because of our situation." Turning, Orisa set the dog down on her back, where it seemed perfectly content to look around. "I think he is friendly, but even a friendly dog may cause difficulties."

"What situation?"

"We are on a train in the Void." Orisa answered the question simply and without snark or sarcasm. "Few animals are here in general."

"There have been lots of us cats around, though. Always are."

"I have not seen what I would consider to be 'a lot' of cats on the train." Was there a secret cat colony she didn't know about?!

"Then you're clearly not looking hard enough." Though a number of them were gone now. Well, more pets for him.

"Spark!" said Curufin, happily, as they met in the Garden Carriage, where Curufin had been making music. He put down his harp and asked, "How have you been?"

"Just purrfect as usual," he punned. It wasn't a lie if it was a pun. Puns were like theater. Everyone accepted that the art mattered more than the honesty. "I'd ask how yew were doing, but that always branches out to ones that are very out on a limb."

"I'd expect you to be doing well," laughed Curufin, pleased that Spark was up to his old punning ways again. "Beclaws you are such an upbeat character. And maybe your judgement is wise, not asking me how eye am doing. If you meet my gaze, you will certainly perceive that my experiences are mixed. Some happy, some sad. Oh, I should make that a tree-some. Some happy, some sad, some a bit of both."

Spark took that as an invitation to jump up into his lap. "Well, I suppose you could tell me. I could use a nap. Just skip the sap, and I won't have claws to bark at you."

Curufin chuckled and accommodated the snuggly cat. "If I tell you, you'll surely fall asleep from boredom. I won't even need to be sappy, and due to your beleafs about the lack of necessity for sappiness, we could branch out and try something else. Besides, you're a cat and are more likely to meow than bark."

"So that means you'll tell me later, not meow?"

"I'll tell you either now or later, whichever you'd prefur."

He stretched then curled up. "Might as well go sooner rather than later... if you purr - fur."

Yes, he will one up your pun by riffing on the other half of the same word.

Curufin laid a hand on Spark's head and scratched his ears gently. "I wouldn't want to fill your ears with information that bores you," he said. "But if you don't mind, I'll talk meow and make it quick."

"I'm doing all right, except that I stayed on the train during the last mission. I never do that, and I'm not even sure why I decided to do it. Now people are posting in the comms about that mission, and I can't reply because I don't know what happened. And as for the rest, I'm sad because I lost my friend Glorfindel many months ago, and I was hoping that he would return. But I don't think he will. And I still miss my parents and my two brothers."

He smiled, then. "But I still have my friend Spark! For which I'm grateful. By the way, I ordered a couple more coolers of fresh fish for you. It should be here on platform day."

He snuggled into the skritching. "I always stay back from missions, so you could talk to me about what didn't happen," he pointed out. "And people show up and vanish all the time. ourr haps he still will come back."

"Oh right, you do skip the missions." Curufin laughed a little. "But if I skipped this one, I wouldn't have any way of knowing what happened or didn't happen. If I talked to you about it, I'd be making it up. My story would be purely imaginary."

He shook his head. "It's true, people come and go, and there seems to be no rule about it. Purrhaps Glorfindel will come back, but I would not take any bets on it. Beclaws I miss him doesn't seem to be one of the train's reasons for fishing the entire Void for a missing person and fetching him back again."

Ienzo could be found in the library, sitting in one of the orange bean bag chairs. Well. "Sitting" was perhaps a bit generous, as he was basically sprawled across it with his head and legs dangling off the sides. Thank god he was short or else that wouldn't have worked at all. It was a rare look at his whole face, too, with his hair swept further to the side thanks to gravity.

The title of the book he was holding up to read said "A Brief History of Time." Physics had never been Ienzo's particular concentration of study, but why not.

Why did he always wind up with the nerds? Ah well. He jumped up onto the other's stomach and curled up like he was settling in for a nap.
