A NEW PLATFORM [INTRO POST FEBRUARY]
On the Train
The train continues its journey through the Void, silent on the blessings and wishes now carried within it.
"Good morning Voidtreckers, it is day sixteen of the month of Poi. Points have been updated on the system."
With points updated, everyone can spend the morning shopping. Most people will be expecting the second announcement that comes a few hours later.
"Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one. The weather is misty, with light rain, and we will be arriving in darkness." A lurch and a jolt, and the windows fill with the fog that means they are at a platform.
The doors open. As usual, those who leave first notice nothing, walking silently, rucksacks on their backs, towards the barriers. Jun Kohinata, Freeza, Caleb Widogast, Essek Thelyss, Tannusen Harrowgate, Xehanort, Lan Xichen, Yurine, Orisa; all pass across the platform, not looking back. And then they're gone, disappeared through the barriers and into the fog beyond.
But on the platform itself there are ten new faces. Wearing hoodies in all four colours and in various states of confusion.
For New Passengers
At first all they can see is steam billowing around them as they come to their senses. As their eyes adjust, they find themselves on a platform. The platform is a section of building, the roof sloping glass and steel and the walls brickwork painted a cheery blue. It is as dark as nighttime, with only fog visible through the glass ceiling, but cool silvery lights provide illumination along the platform. The light patter of rain can be heard overhead.
They are standing, in clothes that are not their own and a style they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on their back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone on the platform; then the fog begins to fade and they realise they aren’t alone.
Ten figures, all facing the tracks, all dressed in cargo trousers and hoodies. Then there is a roaring sound and out of the fog arrives a train. Jet black with gold writing on the side. The Voidtrecker Express. There is a hiss as the doors slide open and out pours a strange assortment of people, over a hundred at least. Some are human, some are less so. Most are wearing the same hoodie in one of the four colours, red, orange, blue and purple, though some are sporting different clothes in a variety of styles.
Behind them, the doors close, and the train is cloaked in the same fog that hides the world beyond the platform.
The Train
After a short time, perhaps ten minutes or so, the fog clears and the doors hiss open again. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there's anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would lead to something terrible. If that is not enough, there are plenty of people on the platform now, to encourage them onto the train.
Each ICP shows the same message and next to the screens there are stacks of leaflets written by those on the train, with further information (see
'Publications'). The store rooms have been restocked with fresh ingredients, with cans of corned beef lining the shelves. The train is also longer again!
For passengers that have bought items, these are also scattered around the luggage carriage in various suitcases and bags.
New passengers will find their ticket allows them into their cabins. In most rooms, the occupied beds are obvious, leaving the spotless, empty spaces for the newcomers. Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches full of spare blankets and pillows.
At Long Last; the Art Carriage
This carriage is a single carriage, with the standard corridor with doors on each end. To one side there are a set of tables and chairs, with two large sets of cupboards. In one is a variety of paper types, plain and coloured, along with painting pots (oil, acrylic, watercolour, and gouache), brushes, charcoals, pencils, and tools for erasing and sharpening. There are also ink pens and brushes, as well as manga screentones.
In the next cupboard is a space for putting away easels inside, as well as palettes, and also a selection of different sized canvases. Some clay can be found on the higher shelf. There's a sink set in the corner for washing up at, and some aprons with a train symbol on the breast.
On the right side is a larger table, another cupboard, and two clips that hold in place removable mannequins. Here people can work on sewing, with the cupboard holding a simple selection of sewing needles, tape measures, sharp-tipped scissors, a basic selection of threads, seam rippers, and whatever else you may find in a beginner's sewing kit. Basic white fabric is also supplied, as well as one with a simple train-pattern.
Around the centre is a free space, usually occupied by pottery wheels. A whiteboard sits in plain view on the wall with marker pens, as well as a small bookcase next to it. Very basic drawing books can be found here, with room for passengers to add their own. The walls are in pastel colouring, even the doors, of soft oranges, pinks and blues.
Departure
A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers taking advantage of the fresh air, and the doors slide shut. Veteran passengers know what will happen next, but they may wish to brief their new companions.
The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view again as it picks up speed.
"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express." A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."
The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog-filled sky.
"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated. Entry into Voidspace in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."
A shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding. As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady itself. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever-changing colours.

Nyh- [hey] ...OH-
OIIII!! BAKURA!! [WELL TALK ABOUT A FAMILIAR FACE.] I didn' expect y' t' show up here..!! HAH!
no subject
...Wherever here is, of course. Ryou's still trying to figure that out.]
You're alright! I guess this is where we were sent, huh? [...He still thinks that this is where they were sent by Aigami. It's a reasonable guess, but unfortunately the wrong guess.]
no subject
[..............................what] Uhhhh...Yer gonnnna have t' clear up what y' mean by tha'...
no subject
You know, by Aigami! He sent you somewhere, then blamed me for what the spirit of the Ring did! [He doesn't quite want to get into it again, not so soon, but it's clear that what happened deeply shook Ryou.]
no subject
[No no, wait. He's getting something.
...He is now more confused, he's going to just refocus.] Yeesh, if it ain't one thing...
[Booo.] ...Sorry Bakura, but uh...I'm thinkin' we ain't from th' same time...er. Hell prob'bly not th' same reality even, c'n I check yer hand f'r a sec'..?
[Alright pal, did your hand scar, or NOT scar...]
no subject
[Ryou is incredibly confused now. He has no idea what Jonouchi is talking about here, with the suggestion of different realities and times.]
...Alright, here's my hand. [He holds his hand out, revealing that yes, the scar from that Monster World game is there. Ryou doesn't know what Jonouchi is looking for, but if it'll help...]
no subject
Somewhere else out here, we got Kaiba, we got Yugi.
Now...I'm bettin' tha' y' know about what happened at Black Clown, righ'? [He better know!]
So Yugi oughta have a pile 'f scars on 's hands. Well...
[He crosses his arms.] ...He doesn'.
He still had t' put th' puzzle t'gether in fire, burns an' all, but he doesn't have scars.
Get it?
no subject
More important right now is the implication of what Jonouchi's saying. It takes Ryou a moment to realize what he's trying to tell him, and he's not liking it much.]
...So we're all from different worlds? What's going on here, then? [If that's true, then this isn't the Jonouchi he knows from home, which is really weird to think about.]
no subject
Welcome t' th' VoidtTrecker Express Bakura- y' jus' got recruited f'r a rescue team! [he laughs.
...And then coughs, because oop.] Errrr...Was th's other me seriously in tha' kinda trouble though, do we need t' go compare notes w'th the others..? I haven't really been home f'r a while, I kinda got here from another world hop deal...
[As if on cue, the pokemon are rolling- and walking- in. Kaseri in particular immediately starts nosing Bakura's hand- which, to her credit, means her passive calming aura is a lot closer to him now.
Amar just bleats.] Er. Anyway I was abou' t' start third year b'fore I left, bein' real.
[O h]
no subject
And yes, he is feeling a bit calmer, but he hasn't connected that to the unicorn pony yet.]
What do you mean, another world hop deal? And a rescue team? I thought I was sent here by Aigami and Manni, not recruited! [About that, Ryou...]
no subject
[Excuse him as he scoops Amar up and holds them out.] Heheheeee check it out Bakura, 's a pokemon!! [He's been keeping quiet on the uh. Video game pokemon thing for the sake of literally everyone else on board, but when does he get this chance!]
But yeah, uh. Nah, you jus' got like...astral projected or...whatever I guess. Believe it or not we're all technically still playin' 'sleepin' beauty' at home, train just makes bodies an' keeps thing's goin'.
Er...that was another reason th' ministry f'r this crap was worried...I guess normally they have a whole set up. ...Also people sign up, instead of....y'know.
[...................]
...This Aigami guy have weird powers 'r somethin'..?
no subject
...Then he's told what's going on with his body back home, and he's speechless for an entirely different reason.]
...So our bodies were left comatose while we're here? [Isn't that ominously familiar for Ryou, in a sort of twisted way. Now he gets to be the one left in a coma.
The Ministry goes uncommented on for now, mainly because it's book ended by the reveal of what happened to his body and the question of what was up with Aigami. Ryou has to take a breath before talking about him.]
He had this cube with him, he used it to send, uh, the other you away somewhere. I'm not sure where. [He was a little distracted from being forced to remember when he got the Ring to notice much besides the obvious.]
no subject
[Way to brag, Katsuya!! But the mood drops fairly quick.] Er...
...Y...yeah though, I mean....we c'n get a message t' our home worlds, ev'n if it's tricky, but...
[A moment- and a flash of a cube- of an illusion, a museum, of-]
....
Sunnuva bitch those pieces of shit pulled Zombie Night...?
[It's difficult to catch that muttering. Don't worry about it. As it is, he snaps himself quickly into focus again.] R-Righ'! Well uh...I mean like I said we got a bit 'f a time...issue, since I was jus' in second year...
But Yugi, he said he graduated, so he might know what went down! Prob'bly oughta compare notes an' crap anyway, there's some weird differences...
[Like the unfortunate and numerous ways he's been saved from drowning. Seriously, what the heck!]
no subject
Or rather, it's shoved aside when Ryou tries to catch what Jonouchi's muttering, but fails at it. It's...probably about the timeline stuff, right?]
Wait, Yugi graduated? [He'd been getting close in his timeline, but wasn't quite there yet.] I was almost there, so I'm not that far behind him.
[Getting together to talk about the different timelines is sounding like a really good idea now.]
no subject
[IT WAS GREAT. BECAUSE IT WAS HAWAII. Anyway.] Yeah, apparen'ly all 'f us did far as he knows. So if anyone's gonna likely know what th' hell happens after yer las' memory, he's our best shot! Especially from what y' jus' said.
