Who: Tidus & You!
Where: Kitchen carriage, dining, wherever he gets teleported to, and sports gym!
When: Quicksand 1 - 6 (before mission time)
What: Cooking, teleporting, and a kid-teen friendly exercise/obstacle course!

1. cooking, morning and dinner ( p-p-p-pancakes and panfried meals)

You know what Tidus wants to do?

He wants to cook.

And what a good month to have that urge, with Purple on meal duties. He doesn't usually bother to take charge in the kitchen for chores, sticking with helping out if he's interested. But this time? Why not. They've got new foods, with enough of a selection that he goes for it: writing down his name for a breakfast and dinner shift after going through the ingredients, and making a call later over the ICPs:

"Hey, Tidus here! I'm cooking for breakfast tomorrow. If any newbies don't know how the kitchen works, or you just wanna cook some food, come 'n' help out - I'm thinking pancakes, smoothies, and pan frittata for breakfast."

For dinner, it's the same set-up, Tidus inviting others to join him for whatever reason, just with a different menu: fish and veggie skewer bites, pan-fried rice with vegetables and meat, and even squash and pineapple fried up with a few veggies.

a: cooking

Whichever time you'll meet him, he'll be found in the kitchen, readying the ingredients and the pans he'll need. He's got a bud in one ear playing music that he hums along to, so you might need to speak up to get his attention. But he's got a good view of the doorway, and will usually give someone he sees a 'Sup!' or 'Morning!' - depending on the time, of course.

Are you here to learn a few things? Do you just want to help out? Or maybe you're just here because you are = Tidus will accept any and all reasons, so long as it doesn't include intentional disasters.

b: it's eatin' time

There's a giddiness that comes with the apprehension of having enough, but surprisingly, it works out. Tidus is skilled at making more than he needs to, and it shows by the spread set out on the end of the dining table close to the kitchen. Oats have been set out, fresh sliced fruits (strawberries, banana, apple, and more), an oatmeal bake of pineapple and cinnamon, yoghurt, and bowls to pick and mix the selection from.

There's also the promised pancakes, and some slices of frittata - a meaty version with turkey bacon mixed in, but a veggie variety too. Tidus will come out to top up the heated food when it's getting low, or you can come into the kitchen to let him know - or even come in, and try out the smoothie maker they have set ready too.

(Don't worry, there's plenty of fruits and vegetables left for the month.)

Truthfully, he's nervous on the inside, both for breakfast and when dinner rolls around, and he hangs around the kitchen just in case. But you know he'll play it cool when and if anyone comes inside during eating times, smiling, and definitely not in a 'oh man I hope everything's okay' way.

2. your very own dreamboy (teleporting shenanigans)

There's more than just food to worry about, though. Since Praeus, some of Tidus's Diagad powers have started to show themselves, with somewhat positive results. The ability to show up around whoever wants him near, or who he asks - pretty handy, and it hasn't been messing up too much since he's started practising.

Life won't let him keep that up.

Because all it takes is a stray thought, either from Tidus or anyone else; not even anything deliberate, but just thinking about him gives him a feeling. Like someone is talking to him, and he thinks to answer them, turning his head to respond--

And he's gone from wherever he was - the sports gym, sitting in bed, sitting in a chair - and appears wherever that person was. And the feeling they receive from Tidus is much the same. Did they just hear Tidus? Feel him? -- now he's right there, usually toppling over something or walking straight into places that shouldn't be walked (and if there's something in the way - you bet you're hearing an 'ouch!' as he knocks unfortunate body parts.)

And it only gets worse, when Allen's bad luck power just makes him show up around random people without any stray thought.

3. a teen and younger obstacle course

"He is very strong." He agreed as he climbed next to her, keeping pace as they got to the balancing beams.

"And he is always good at doing things for people." Tidus was nice like that.

He stood at the edge of the beam. "Are you ready?"

"Well.. Ready is a big word.."

Please, Madoka, it's not that hard! Either you're ready, or you're not!

Although in this case it's more like she doesn't think that she's ready, but knows she ought to be, hence why she struggles to give a more straightforward answer here.

Glancing over at the edge, downwards, she slowly says: ".. What if I'd fall off?"

Not that it's that far to the ground. But it's still kind of scary, especially for tinier people like the two of them!

"It is a big word!" He nods, but he thinks she is ready. She's very brave, even if it takes her a moment to find her courage.

"I will catch you! I'll make a borderline so you won't fall to the ground!"

Thank god that Romeo adds that he'd catch her with a borderline, or Madoka would really have to start to question the logistics of such an act..

But it makes sense that he'd be able to catch her that way, so Madoka just nods, trusting her friend. She sucks in a deep breath, spreads her arms for balance, and then carefully, caaarefully, starts moving onto the balance beam, putting one foot in front of the other.

She's definitely a little wobbly though as she's going across it slowly.

"S-Sheesh, it really is kind of scary.."

"It is a bit! But you are being really brave!" He grinned as he followed behind her, watching her like a hawk.

"It will be even better when you get to the end, because you tried really hard!"

"But then there will be even more waiting, right?"

At least it sounds like she's saying it slightly jokingly.. Even if there's definitely a hint of nerves in her voice that Madoka can't quite hide. She's way too much of an open book for that.

And she's right - Tidus sure wasn't lazy while putting together this obstacle course. There really isn't just one balance beam in it.

"W-We can't give up until we reach the very end though! It'd be rude to give up..!" Because that's clearly the only thing stopping her from giving up.

Politeness. Who needs determination, honestly.

"Yes! There will be more things to try but you will be really good at those too, Madoka." He smiled at hr and then nodded.

It would indeed be rude to give up!

"Mister Tidus worked so hard on putting it all together. So we got to give it our best!"

Thankfully it doesn't take forever for them to make it to the other side. It's not exactly an infinite balance beam, after all - and it's not like the carriages are the most huge things ever either, so there's only so much course that fits in one.

Not that there isn't another balance beam right ahead of them, but while they're - for a moment - standing on more solid high ground, she turns towards Romeo, just to make sure that he actually made it across just fine too.

It seems he does, so Madoka just lets out a sigh of relief.

"So.. how was that? I guess I didn't think it was as scary as it seemed, but it's still pretty difficult.." And they weren't even moving all that fast yet! This is still baby speed.

He does get across with not much problem though he keeps watching Madoka very very careful. He promised to catch her so he has to make sure he does if she falls!

"That's good! You did really well! It's okay if you go slow because that's what practice is for! You will be the best balancer on the train!"

He has no doubts.

When does Romeo ever have doubts, really? At least when it comes to other people, anyway. He always seems so bright-eyed and full of hope, no matter what exactly is going on.

So even though Madoka doesn't have quite as much faith in herself as he seems to have, she still manages to shoot him a small smile, with only something awkward around its edges.

"I don't know about that.. I'll have to practice a lot more. Since I wouldn't be able to go that slow if this was a serious mission, you know..?" There'd be too many dangers for her to jsut casually take her time like that! Madoka is well aware of that.

"Well that's why we practice now! So that we are good when we got to do it on missions!"

That was important, because they could go slow now and be fast later.

"Here let's try this one! We got to jump to each obstacle. I bet you will be good at that!"

"You think so?"

.. then again, this is Romeo she's asking.

He'd probably say that she'd be good at most things, and be 100% genuine about it. That's just how Romeo works.

"I guess we should at least try it, right?" Otherwise they would've wasted Tidus's effort! That's no good! "Maybe you can go first this time? You're a really good jumper, after all..! You can show me."

"Of course I think so!"

He wouldn't have said it unless he had every faith in her ability! He always thinks Madoka is going to do great at things!

He can go first though. He grinned at her and stepped forward, doing a big jump from where he stood to the next obstacle.

Wow, look at Romeo go. It makes Madoka laugh, even with the tiniest awkward hint at its edges.

"Romeo, I think Tidus might have to make a separate obstacle course just for you.." You know, because Romeo is such a jumper! Jumping from one thing to the next is nothing to him, especially when parts of it probably are set at the beginner level since Tidus wouldn't want anyone to have to feel bad about their abilities..

"You really can jump so far! Do you think I could make that gap too?"

Despite not having any special jumpy powers.

"I think you could! You just got to make it a big jump! Maybe run first!"

He knows it's much easier for him than other people who weren't shinki. But Tidus won't have made it too tricky, he's sure of that!

"A run.."

Madoka repeats the words to herself, looking behind her. There's not a whole lot of space to take a run here, but she's going to try all the same. Maybe it'll be a little easier if she just jogs a step or two first..!

"O-Okay, I'm going to try!" Look at her announcing it. Like that's somehow necessary. "Please make sure that you're not in the way, Romeo..!"

The last thing she'd want to do is accidentally bump into him. That wouldn't be fun for either of them.

"Okay!" He squishes to the side, he doesn't want to be bumped into. Once he is out of the way he grins at her.

"Go on Madoka! You can do it!"

Look, she's got to do it now. She can't have Romeo cheering her on and fail, right?

So she takes a step back, and then another one.. Just about as far as she can go without tumbling off the thing she's standing on right now. Then she takes those steps again, but forward and quickly this time, pushing herself off the obstacle she's standing on...

.. and onto the next one. She almost threatens to slip right back off again, but she moves to quickly cling to the obstacle, just to make sure she doesn't fall.

"I.. I did it!"

She thinks?! Hold on, she has to process that this actually happened for a moment or two.

He's ready to reach out and grab her if she needs it but he doesn't think she will. Because he has confidence in her. She will manage! She will make the jump!

She does it! His face splits into a wide grin and he claps his hands.

"Well done Madoka! Look how good you did!"

"Thank you.."

Please, as if she could say anything else in the face of Romeo praise. It'd feel wrong to say anything else when he seems so genuinely happy for her, after all!

"But I guess that means I should do all of the other jumps too..! I can't give up now."

"Exactly! You're going to be a jumping expert by the end of all of this!"

He just knew it.

"Let's keep going and show mister Tidus just how hard we are working!"
