[An announcement over the intercoms goes throughout the train on the evening of Quicksand 13, after everyone's settled post-mission.]

Good day, this is Elidibus. Some of you may recall the brief transformation of the rock garden into a winter day several platforms ago. This coming platform I'm looking to arrange for a spring season change to the same carriage. Last time was a little spontaneous and short notice. This time I would like to ask for help.

One of the major changes is this will last for three days, including the Platform Day. During that time, those willing to help maintain the spring garden will be welcome. Whether by manual labor, organization, a special talent or other contributions. [After all the carriage is only so large and traffic may be regular.] Like last time, the climate, weather and soil will be present, but I'd like to ask some of those talented with the fast growth of plants and trees to lend assistance. Anyone familiar with planning the layout of a seasonal garden in a relatively small space would also be appreciated.

Those who might be interested in preparing food fit for picnic meals, I would like to ask for your help. Though I have a general concept for this seasonal garden event, I would ask you to bring any ideas you have to me. What I've observed on my star may differ from others and anyone should feel welcome to add their ideas. I may also approach some of you but there is no obligation to agree to my requests.

[This is announced over the intercoms. But there will also be signs posted near the public ICPs in each carriage or in a proper obvious place with this message printed on it.

The seasons are straightforward. Winter to spring. Spring to summer and summer to fall.

[ It's an easy answer! But as for what 'do you do for Spring' goes... ]

I can tell you about what I've seen others do for spring. But if you're looking for what people do, it's best asking others. Roland, for instance.

[ He'd been told about Earth's 'Easter' which had some traits Elidibus seemed familiar with. But was definitely different.]

Do you want to hear about the event the mortals of my star celebrate during this season?

[ He knows what Spring is!! (in theory) But that last part is what he's looking for! ]

Right! But, don't you have anything you do? Or did? There's got to be ideas of what Spring means to you too.

Those memories are still missing, for the most part.

[It's an awkward topic to be sure, but Elidibus doesn't seem to mind having been asked about the past. Or explaining that he can't remember it all. At least not to Tidus.]

Yet spring does remind me of something I managed to hold on to through the millennia. Though I admit I can't remember if it happened in this season or not.

[He sounds a touch wistful.]

[ Ohh. Tidus at least knows it's something not to put too much emphasis on - the guy's old anyway, how much should he remember?

Really, it's what Elidibus goes on to say that Tidus thinks more about. Head tilting slightly as he thinks. ]

Is it something you can symbolise? You're really good at making patterns, so even if it isn't something with a form... why don't you add it and put it in a nice spot?

Then every time you'll see it, you can think about it more. [ His smile broadens as he nods to himself. ] There's plenty of room for stuff like that!

[ This earns Tidus one of Elidibus's faint smiles. The ones that are real even if still a little reserved as is his nature. ]

I already have. Smell the air.

[ Because let's just say this moment happens to be in the process of setting up the rock garden and the preliminary transformation- that is the stuff that would be done by either himself or Emet-Selch (this time the latter doing the lion share of course)- is in place. And while the grass or trees might not be completely grown, the climate is there. A sunny spring day. Bit of a breeze but nothing that'll put a reminder of the 'past winter' in the air. The cool, refreshing scent as if heavy rains had just passed. ]

It's what I remember. My friends coaxing me out of my study to enjoy a beautiful day after a long rain.

[ Simple pattern. Right. And Elidibus does understand it isn't on the terms Tidus might be more used to. So he adds a remark. ]

It is something simple for our kind, especially in such a small area. Pray don't think I'm belittling efforts of others by saying this. Everyone is doing what we can or desire to do. Still this is what I'm content with. And with the added benefit that the others can add their own efforts, unaware this seemingly complex stage is by itself a tiny bit selfish.

[ After all, few people on the train wouldn't be pleased with a nice spring day after the rain. But apparently, Elidibus especially so, for the sake of this one memory he held onto for so long. ]

[ Well then! The air was noticeable, but not in a way Tidus thought to pay attention to it. It gave the illusion of being outdoors - or maybe a damp conservatory that's had the door left open for a while, but not as offensive as that might be to some people.

It's small, personal - but that's the kind of idea Tidus had been thinking of when he gave his suggestion, and he tips his head to a side. ]

Nothing wrong with that - you can be selfish and still put together something fun for other people. Even if it's just to look at. [ An activity people can join in, see and enjoy. He smiles. ] Or smell!

[ He pauses, then looks about him. ] I'll ask Roland about stuff we can add. Inigo...

[ Hmm, would he know? Maybe not. And not Taiki.

Eh. ] --I'll ask around.

Yes, I think Roland mentioned something called 'Easter'. It was faintly similar to an event called Hatching-tide I've seen Eorzeans celebrate on my star in recent years. At least when it came to painted eggs.

[Honestly the rest was pretty damned different unless you counted that both had some ties to religion.]

I believe the children will enjoy what he has planned. And feel free to ask around. Some have approached me with suggestions but not everyone would be comfortable doing so.

[Well he knows his standing probably isn't favorable with some. He certainly doesn't blame them.]

Sure! Some people don't know they have an idea 'til you ask them personally.

[ Always good to ask people in person, even if it was a hassle. But it wasn't like Tidus had much else to do, so, before he goes anywhere: ]

There anything else I can help out with? There nothing you need buying?

[Obviously Elidibus is going to give that some thought.]

I need nothing, if only because it would be received the day the event begins. Though Roland mentioned making chocolate. Perhaps some other sweets that match whatever holiday he is celebrating? And I may speak to you when I plan for summer.

[There are a LOT of things not on the train that can totally be worth pre-purchasing for summer. Like shaved ice. And water balloons.]

[ Other sweets? Got it, but it's the mention of summer that intrigues Tidus. He folds his arms, grin widening. ]

Summer needs a pool party. [ Hello. ] If you're out in the sun, the best place to be's in a pool! With iced drinks, hot food, good music.

[ He leans forward, slightly. ]

You ever swim for fun?

Yes, I'd thought about something like a beach at the ocean. Yet the scale... Hmm. A pool may be better. I'll give it some thought and speak with the Voidtrecker Express.

[ Spatial scaling is.... tricky at the best of times. A train in voidspace moreso. And it's probably even more complicated than that.

Anyway! Tidus does earn a look bordering on bemusement when he asks if Elidibus has ever done recreational swimming. ]

I don't think I have. At least, not in the way you mean it.

[ Keeping up appearances during one of the many times he took a body to keep the balance? Probably. But for personal fun? No. ]

If you are going to suggest I do, I will consider it.

[While it's probably honest that he will consider it, it's also probably going to end up something he'll need to be dragged into.]

[ Of course a guy like Elidibus hasn't! But that's okay. This old man can learn to have fun yet! ]

You better! [ He takes a few steps back, readying to leave, but also- ] 200 more votes and we'll get that pool. And I don't want it going to waste - I'm throwing points into it!

[ And he will, more. Soon! Once he asks Roland about these sweets for Spring. ]

[ Good luck to you Tidus! It'll be a long process. But it's certainly possible. ]
