Training Log--Symphony Day 18 [Closed]
Who: Trunks Brief (
light_of_willpower) and Sonya Blade (
soldier_blade)
Where: Training Gym
When: Evening a few hours after dinner on Day 18 of Symphony
What: Trunks is continuing to train Sonya in using her qi, or ki as he knows it.
Warnings: Flashing and flashy lights in character? Bursts of energy?
Trunks was not the teacher Piccolo was. But he was doing his best, and he had some tech to help. Certainly it helped his Mother to be able to measure her progress, miniscule though it might be, in ways she understood. She wasn't very patient...
General Sonya Blade might not be the most patient either, but she at least could fake it more easily than Bulma. Or apply patience to this in a way Bulma couldn't. Either way, the tech seemed to be able to help her
to measure her progress too.
Trunks had his scanner with him, safely stored for now in his Arms Band. He had some targeted goals he wanted to meet today with Sonya for her training. After that he'd see where to go next.

The other side, the more stubborn side of her, constantly reminded her that she signed up for this, knowing it would be slow, knowing it would be a trek. She didn't (or atleast she wasn't sure anyway) have the same genes Cassie or Johnny had, but if Liu Kang or Kung Lao could learn such techniques, so could she.
She just needed to shut up and bear it.
"Alright," She stretched her shoulders and neck, even though most of what needed to be done just involved meditation. "Same old, same old, or moving forward?"

She should've expected him to challenge her of course. The whole point of learning anything was to keep pushing past one's comfort level, but that still didn't make the whole 'playing catch' make any more sense.

So far her projectiles didn't really have much form, not as far as she could tell-just fuzzy blasts.
Focusing, she set her hands together, focusing, feeling the now familiar 'electric heat' flow through her core, through her limbs. The energy emitted through her arms, and she tried to focus it into her hands, but as always it felt like trying to stop a leak in a damn.
Yet the progress was there, she could feel it, could see the pink energy come out in almost like waves; waves that couldn't seem to form into anything for all she curled her fingers to try.
Screw it, she told herself, and threw the blast of energy at him.

Not entirely the same as Cassie's power. For all they didn't know much about the Cages' green glow, it was usually triggered in someone's defense.
THis power, it seemed, focused both on the need to defend and go on attack.
She breathed, focused on past battles, the adrenaline, the fear, the anger; she focused it all, felt it channel from her core through to her arms. She tried to hold it back, tried to focus it through her fingers, and yet the stronger the energy, the harder it was for her to control.
At the last minute, she once more threw the projectile at him, though it was still less of a 'ball' and more like just a beam of pure energy, as though she'd turned a firehose on her future 'son in law'.

"Just how long does it usually take for one to master this sort of thing, on average of course." SHe couldn't really get a good idea from Cassie, given her father's own background, but a general idea couldn't hurt.

Still, she was curious.
