I am not a nice person
Who: Misa and anyone that can hear her scream. (Sorry 3C)
What: Misa has a dream.
When: Early morning of Egret 6
Where: Cabin 3C
Warnings: Misa being Misa, and her dream
It's a perfectly lovely sleep. She dreams of being back in Freema's kitchen. There are smells of tarts being baked, and the soft sound of Freema humming in the background, while Misa sits in her chair, reading a book, content, glad to be home.
And then, it changed. The horror reverberates in her skull as the pulse hits the back of her throat.
Misa screams as she sits up in the bunk. Her dreams... the dreams followed her here and she wants to make them stop.

There could be danger. He throws his hoodie over his pajamas and moves to the door in question---and unfortunately he can't get in without a ticket, so he has to knock, other fist clenched and ready just in case.

She never knows how to make it stop. She wants to make it stop!
She doesn't look up from having her face buried in her knees, though she knows there's someone else in the room now.

"Whatever you saw in your nightmare isn't here now," he says, his voice uncharacteristically soft. "You're safe on the train. There's a whole team here who will look after you."

That much she knows. She knows that, eventually, it'll be like when the Empire destroyed Alderaan. Not that she knows much about that, save for what she reads in the history books, but she can only imagine.... If she's around to see this happen, she doubts she'll survive with her sanity intact.

Kaiba thinks back on Ishizu and her visions, remembering his destruction of them fondly. But he can still be calm in the face of a distressed child.
"Let's start with what you saw."
no subject
"I saw... a planet. I didn't recognize it." She begins. "There was this... this... pressure? And the planet rippled. Not like an earthquake, but something unnatural." She takes a shuddering breath. Tears trace down her face. "Then a light. Red, bright. It kept getting brighter and brighter. Then... terror. Mind numbing terror."

Kaiba frowns at that. "So you think that's a planet we're going to go to? Or somewhere from your home?"
no subject
"No, not from home." She says. "At home, I only know Cantonica. And not even that much of it, just Canto Bight." She says, softly. "It's probably our next mission."

He looks at her crumpled form and sighs softly. "Point is...we'll plan the best operation we can. And I've never been one to let visions of the future decide my destiny, so I'm still going to fight it."
no subject
She means it, too.

She shivers, and then does as her older self will do a lot: she pulls the mental mantle of courtesan and Mistress around her, and forces herself to look at Kaiba. "I'm sorry to have disturbed everyone."
no subject
"It's fine, really. I've a baby sister about your age, so... I'm used to this." She offers an honest smile, eyes flickering in concern at the shiver- and she needs to offer. "I know you likely don't need it, but if you'd like, you can hold or pat Princess. Or he can sleep on the end of your bed."
She doesn't mind really, and if the young lady doesn't want it, then that's fine too.
