Come get you shining thingy...
Who:Fëanor and Madoka
Where: Dining car
When: Egret 6
What:Chief Communication Officer Madoka gets a palantír
Fëanor one black orb to deliver it to left. And he had perfect candidate to have it. He just needed to find her first. The train has gotten big out of late so it wasn't the easiest of tasks but then some places he thought more probable than others.
It was too late for breakfast and still too early for dinner so the dinner card was almost empty. Save for one table occupied by a girl drawing on a piece of paper. The one he was looking for. Fëanor comes closer and sits on the opposite side.
"Hello, Madoka. What are drawing?"

"Hello, Madoka. What are drawing?"

At first Madoka seems so caught up in her drawing that she hasn't even noticed someone else entered the car, but when he's right in front of her and speaks up, the elf suddenly gets all of her attention. Cheerful attention too - apparently she's in a good mood, since Madoka easily smiles at him.
(Well, that, and the fact she also just generally likes Fëanor a lot sure helps.)
"It's nothing special. Naminé drew a cute kitten for me the other day, so now I'm trying to do the same thing!"
She moves the paper so he can look at it. It's filled with all sorts of cats. The drawing style is kind of childish and cartoony, but at least it's adorable.

"I think you have succeeded. They are very expressive cats."
He takes out a black, shining orb.
"There is something you could really help me with."

But she doesn't have long to linger on that before he pulls out the orb - and more importantly, follows it up with those words.
"Me..?" Of all the people on the train? Madoka's eyes grow wide as she looks at him. What could she possibly help him with? Surprise aside, there's no real hesitation before she agrees. "Of course I don't mind helping you. What do I have to do?"
It probably has something to do with that orb, but obviously she has no idea what it is.

"This," he says pushing the orb in her direction " is a palantír. It can relay a message from a person holding it to another palantír. Be it a spoken word or a thought." He takes out his own. "Like this one." He puts the second orb on the table.
"I made four; one for each team. I'd like you to have the one for Blue."
It's a responsibility and a duty but he's sure she can handle it. And he needs people he knows and trusts on that task. If only for the sole reason that affinity helps with stabilizing the connection.

Madoka instinctively almost questions why her, but then realises that's probably rude. Sure, she may have rose-coloured glasses, but he doesn't seem like the type to her that'd make a decision like that without thinking about it. So.. "I.. I don't mean to question you, but.. are you sure I'm the best person for that?"
She thinks about everyone on the blue team. There's so many amazing people! She can't live up to any of them, so why her?
"I wouldn't want to let you down if someone else could be better, mister Fëanor.."
no subject
"But it can't be anyone else. Ignis will already be incredibly busy. I don't know the rest of the Blue team too well. Nor do they know me."
He can't give it just to anyone. With time he could teach anyone to use a palantír but time is exactly what they don't have. So it must be someone who already has a connection to the device maker. To him. Eh, how do you explain affinity to a 14-year old?
"If you close your eyes how well can you imagine how I look like?"
no subject
In true childish fashion, rather than giving a direct answer to it, Madoka decides she must try it out in order to be able to give a truthful answer. No matter how odd the question seems to her, coming out of the blue like that.
So the girl closes her eyes for a moment, frowning slightly as she seems to think.
".. Um, I think I can do it pretty well..? You look really unique." She means it in a nice way, okay. Fëanor is just really pretty! It makes his appearance easy to remember.

The mist swirling inside his orb changed color to blue. All the palantírí are connected to each other but each of them must also have a connection to its user. It seems there would be no problem with it for the Blue team.
"If you will say something to it now, I will hear it no matter how far I will be. As long as I have my own palantír with me."
no subject
"That's amazing..!" Not just the colour changing, but also his explanation that follows it. She can't even imagine how he must have made something like this. As far as she's concerned, Fëanor is a total genius. "Then that means the teams can talk no matter how far apart we are, right..? In case there's danger or something like that..!"
no subject
"That's exactly what it means."
He holds his hand over his palantír. The mist inside clears showing a core of blue light pulsing in sync with the vibrations as the device repeats Madoka's words from just a moment ago. When he touches the orb's surface palantír goes dark again.
"That's how you use it. Would you like to try yourself?"
no subject
In case she - for some reason - turns out unable to use it somehow. Because she's not good or special enough or something like that.
The girl puts her hand over the palantír he gave to her, just like he did a moment ago.
"So.. I do this? And then what?"
