Day 18
[Greenhouse]
Glorfindel has been spending a lot of time in the garden, what those on the train called the greenhouse. His flowers were already starting to push up through the dirt, which he was encouraging with his light. He was also singing some songs from his old home, back when Ecthelion kept making up songs for every occasion and then getting them stuck in everyone's heads.
If anyone else is growing something in the greenhouse, it is thriving by association.
He is singing softly to his flowers as he waters them, the room is suspiciously bright.
[Cabin](For roommates to walk in on him if you want to!)
Glorfindel frowned at his bed. It was...functional, but lacked interest. If he was going to spend time here, he wanted to personalize his space more. He knew there was fabric available somewhere on the train. He wondered where he could get his hands on some, and if they had any greens and yellows, if there were sewing kits available, and what his roommates would think of custom curtains.
[Hallway]
Glorfindel stepped out into the hall, glancing out the windows at the colorful display outside. He was on a mission to find a sewing kit. He wondered where to start looking.

"I dunno about that." He shrugs. "Depends what you consider art, I guess? There's usually loads of graffiti around but I dunno if most people consider that art."

"Most government types consider it vandalism. Most people, too. But some folk think of it as art. It's spray paint, on walls. Usually public spaces, but sometimes private property. SOMETIMES it can be like. Pictures! Or like sentences. But often it's just random scribbles - it's called 'tagging' - it's like. A signature. Just an 'I was here' type thing, you know?"

"We had beautiful murals of the sea in Gondolin. Along most of the thoroughfares."
no subject
"Right? But that's why a lot of people consider it vandalism. I've seen it done well. But most of them time... it's not."

He frowns thoughtfully. "Gangs are like... groups? Of people. But like. They tend to be kinda a bit... illegal? Sometimes they just... hang out together and get into fights but sometimes they do actual crime."
no subject
Glorfindel blinked. "A social group that engages in illegal activities? Again, do the lords of your cities not object to such things? Why would someone do such a thing?" Doing things that they were told not to, like climbing on dangerous rocks by the sea, or going into the forest to spy on bears, that was one thing, but if someone simply wanted to get into a fight or commit a crime, that was usually only done under the influence of someone Evil.
no subject
"It's not like they don't object. It's more that there's only so much someone can do about it."

Why are we not in a month we get bonus points from? Lol
alas, I do not know
"Yeah, it's what a lot of people call the... I suppose you'd say juvenile delinquents in schools? Yankee was an old word for Americans who tend to be... well, loud, and often rude and pushy. But now when we say 'yankee' it's a particular type of subculture? They tend to dye or bleach their hair, wear fake tan - or real tan, sometimes - speak rudely and brashly, and generally behave poorly. Some of them actually get into real trouble, but ... it's almost a fashion statement for some."
It's just fun to have these two chat, LOL
well I AM planning a "teach magic" log....
Every Finwean in existence just sneezed.
Kaito shrugs expressively. "I guess? In Japan people tend to dye hair coz we're a culture that values sameness, you know? So it's a way to rebel without going TOO far. Very few people will go all the way and dye it funky colors the way they do in places like America, but bleaching is pretty popular."

"Somehow, though, I suspect on this Train, you are...normal. For what that is worth." Being an averagely odd person on a Train full of odd people; perhaps that might be a welcome change?
no subject
"Yeah. It's odd, being one of the most normal people here! Nice for a change."
no subject
"Very nice," he said with a smile. Then he tilted his head to the side. "May I ask what you did when on your world? I feel we have talked mostly of me, and I apologize."

Although consider the antics Aoko and he get up to, he knows some of the teachers would LOVE to get rid of him.
