Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

Ignis had been trying to get to as many people as he could to try and heal. It gave him something else to focus on and he fought colliding with a wall and falling to the ground himself before shaking his head.

He couldn't give into the pain and used it to spur himself on. Even if he had other team leaders it didn't matter, he would help anyone and everyone he came across until he collapsed. That was usually what he ended up doing on the Blue missions anyway, especially that last one with all of the villagers.

When the train righted itself finally, the advisor pushed himself up enough to walk, ignoring the pain in his left arm. A quick panicked check revealed that the pink scallop shell he received on the beach hadn't been broken and he stuffed the peacock feather back into his long jacket pocket.

"Bucky!" Ignis called, going over and kneeling before the man on the floor. "Don't move, give me a moment." He pulled out a potion and set to work.

He'd been about to push himself upright when Ignis arrived, but decided maybe staying down was, after all, for the best. "It's fine," he sighs. "Just needs to be popped back in," preferably by someone competent this time, because apparently just slamming it into a wall repeatedly hadn't been the best course of action.

"What the hell happened out there, huh? Is everyone okay?" Everything about this mission seemed wrong, from the timing, to suddenly getting pulled, and now the train felt like it was moving a lot less smoothly.

The advisor shook his head at the protests Bucky was making. He could feel the shoulder injury and looked at the man lying down with a slight disapproving face. But he wouldn't focus on that right now. His hand slid down, feeling for anything anything else broken but stopped with another shake of his head.

"The world seems to have been consumed." It was his only explanation at the moment. All he'd known was that he was worried about getting Madoka to safety once their units went off. "It appears everyone made it back aboard safely so you rest right now."

Another potion appeared and he used it on Bucky for good measure.

There were no other injures -- and in fact, the only reason his shoulder was hurt was because he'd done such a bad job fixing himself up the last time he'd been injured this way. "C-consumed?" he asks, furrowing his brow. "Are there any injured?" he asks, trying to sit up, to check for casualties.

Never mind that he's a casualty.

"Quite." Ignis sighed. There was another as Bucky completely missed the irony of his question. "Let's work on getting you better before you go rushing off to try and save anyone else, shall we?"

Green eyes raked over the soldier and shook his head as the other tried getting up. "We'll need to get that shoulder repaired before you go anywhere." So says someone who isn't taking your shit.

He has the decency to blush at the not-quite-scolding. "Yeah, okay. It just needs popped back in and it should be fine. I think it only came out so easily because it's done it before," and wasn't treated properly, but he doesn't say that. His healing factor usually means that kind of thing isn't a problem. "And thanks," because he honestly thinks it's a waste of effort on Ignis' part, but he knows better than to try arguing.

"Well if you need help, say the word and I'll assist you." Inwardly Ignis smiled at the other realizing his current position, but he hadn't pointed it out unkindly. It was a simple fact that Bucky couldn't go rushing off until he himself was healed.

"You've a good heart Mister Barnes." the advisor said with a slight smile. "So let's get that shoulder squared away so you can go play hero to others."
luckybucky: (That was super cute)

Bucky forces a smile, ducking his head a little as a blush darkens his cheeks. "When you say it like that it almost sounds like you're scolding me," he huffs out a chuckle and shifts his position enough that Ignis can reach what he needs to. "Just count to three and get it over with."

There was another laugh at Bucky's assessment. Ignis wasn't scolding him so much as knowing that as soon as this other situation was done, the soldier would be off helping others. It wasn't unlike himself if their positions were reversed. However, they weren't and the advisor was 'running' with it so to speak.

But he didn't reply and moved so that he could help with this whole arm thing. It wasn't instant and of course it would be painful, so as soon as they got it corrected, the strategist gave him another healing potion and spoke quietly.

"Now off you go."

Bucky was a surprisingly good patient, able to keep the muscles relaxed even though the pain was surely incredible. All he did was growl under his breath, and sigh in relief once the shoulder was back in place.

"Thanks," he replied with an honest smile. "And I promise to behave. Mostly."

Knowing pain was part of it was the reason Bucky got potions put on him, to ease as much of it as was possible. But if the sigh was any indication, they'd gotten it back in place.

"If you don't, you're going to end up where you began today." Ignis smirked It was good to see the other smile, it seemed it wasn't a common thing.

That got a laugh -- and a little bit of a blush -- out of him in reply. "Why do I get the feeling you're not above putting me there?" he asked warmly, even as he pushed himself to his feet. He was careful to be gentle with his injured arm, because if there's one person he doesn't want to cross, it'd Ignis.
faithfulsupport: (As you wish)

"I wouldn't be the one putting you there. That would be you." Ignis smiled. But Bucky probably figured if he ended back up in the advisor's care there would be a lecture of sorts along with fussing. And if he had that much worked out, he was incredibly correct.
luckybucky: (Laughing)

"Alright, alright," he laughs. "I won't make you take care of me again any time soon, I promise." There were certainly worse fates, but he'd rather stay on Ignis's good side.
