Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

The Doctor feels no small amount of irritation at the fact they've ended up back on the train when a clear and present danger was headed their way. The rate at which they were hurtling through the void-or the rate the thought they were, anyways, has him wondering a few very important questions. First of which was if the Train was at all sentient and the second was why had they left?

He has idea, and theories of course but that doesn't make him any less irritated. He heads the the famed wall and scans it with his screwdriver to see if it'll give him anything interesting. All he's getting is gibberish though.

"Shh... It's okay." He says soothingly, gently caressing the wall. "You're okay now. You're safe." At least he hopes so. The sheer speed of their departure has him a little concerned that they haven't seen the last of whatever that was. "Now then, what was all that about?"

Should Nita be up and about after nearly getting knocked out by a headache?

No, but even the peridexis can't make her do something she's not set on doing, and right now what Nita IS set on is (A) getting up and about and if possible (B) getting answers.

Which is why she's finished her trek up the train and is at the Stores car, watching the Doctor with an exhausted curiosity.

"... Doctor? Are you alright?"

That had been one hell of a flinging-about they'd gotten.

He spends a moment just petting the wall in a calming manner. He looks up when he hears a voice and looks over to see Nita-from what he can tell she's no worse for wear.

"Always." He flashes her a half smile. He's gotten thrown about worse than that in the TARDIS. "You?"

Somehow, that doesn't surprise her, and she manages a smile for the Time Lord.

"I've been better, but this definitely isn't my worst."

She glances at the engine wall. "I think, anyway. It could definitely have been worse, though. Any response from our silent friend?"

She's still getting her breath back, but as far as she's concerned she'll be fine.

"No, not so much." He states, moving over to her and panning the screw driver over her to check on her vitals and run a quick diagnostic scan to be sure that she's okay.

"Of course, that's hardly unexpected-we don't know that the train is sentient though, I am starting to wander."
unfavorableinstigation: It is dark, but Nita is inside reading a book. (Reading Indoors)

"I'm pretty sure myself," Nita says. "There's certainly a mind to connect to, anyway."

The scan will only reveal that she's been exhausted; a few scratches are all she's received while in the Kingdom of Biq, and the blow from the train was mostly mental/emotional.

"The real question is, what does it think of us? Does it trust us, or are we just part of the package deal of Voidtrecking?"

He wonders if briefly there's a language that TARDIS can't translate or if she's just not nearby enough to translate. He strokes the wall again before leaning in close and closing his eyes to listen carefully and maybe try to establish some kind of link.

'Are you okay? Can you hear me?'
