Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

"You're... right." She had never thought the reaction could be because it knows just what it was. Which just made Rapunzel even more confused and conflicted and now as optimistic as she probably would have been.

"And I'm not sure they will explain it to us."

Waver made a vague sound of acknowledgement, words failing him briefly as he fidgeted nervously with his hands.

"It...should, I mean--I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of--of whatever that was, so someone running this place should explain it."

She nodded slightly. She agreed it might not be the last they saw of that, considering how quick everything happened the moment it appeared...

"I think... we should get some answers, but... with no one ever really hearing them, I get the feeling they will just keep quiet."

"...I can't stand this. How are we supposed to do what we were supposedly even brought here for, when we're working on so little information?"

Waver shook his head, running a hand back through his hair in frustration.

"I don't...I don't know what we're supposed to do."

Rapunzel had started to play with her hair a tiny bit, strands that might not fit into the braid that she currently had. What are they suppose to be doing? She thought they were meant to be helping but after what happened without warning... What does that mean? They never finished nor really helped, so what does that mean?

"I don't know either... I thought we were helping other worlds. But we didn't help at all... But what does that mean for that world?"

"I-"

What did it mean? Waver cut himself off, suddenly looking very distant--as though he was stuck in another place and time entirely. The memory of something terrible echoed in his head as he contemplated what the end of a world might look like, and he detested how clear of a picture he had of it.

For the hundredth time, Waver caught himself thinking Lancer would know what to do right now, knowing it wouldn't do a damn bit of good. He pulled his knees to his chest and pressed both hands to his head, struggling to take a deep breath without screaming.

"I d-...I d-don't think...that world's there anymore."

"There's...not a...world... anymore?" She found herself repeating those words over and over in her head. It just wasn't sinking it at the moment just what he meant.

Though when they finally sunk in she couldn't help but find herself shivering slightly. Not a world anymore meant... they didn't exist anymore? They didn't survive. She really did not know how to handle this situation except to gripped the dress at the sides where her hands were currently placed.

She hated this feeling. She hated feeling like they didn't do enough. They could have maybe tried brining them on here if they had known maybe?

But in the end, Rapunzel couldn't help but cry. tears following down her cheeks. "...We could have done something..."

"It's...I don't...know if we could." Waver shook his head, still visibly rattled by whatever line of thought he was currently tangled in.

"If I'm right--I don't want to be, but if I am, that's...those shadows probably weren't something any of us could deal with. I-I have no idea what they were, but..."

"We don't know anything... And we don't even know if the train will, even answer... Though... I honestly think they should." She spoke as she went to rub her eyes slightly. She was upset about the whole thing.

"But... what do we do now?"
