Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

The nuzzling is cute - and more important, it would have been comforting even if Romeo didn't have a calming effect to begin with in this form. Some people might find it slightly strange to see their friend in kind-of-animal form and get nuzzled by them, but honestly, Madoka has bigger things to worry about.

So she just enjoys the contact for a moment before gently picking him up and holding him in her hands, looking him over to make sure he didn't get hurt when they left that world and suddenly ended up here. It's so crowded, after all, someone could've trampled on him!

Romeo is still as she picks him up in her hands but then looks up towards her. He's not quite seeing through the weasels eyes, instead seeing from above, but it is polite to look at people when they are speaking to you.

The weasel nodded, this was really strange. Worrying and strange, everyone seems pretty scared, angry and confused.

It must be tough for him too. It seems tough for everyone right now. Even those who didn't get thrown around - like Madoka, luckily - seems to be having a bad time. It's taking a lot for the girl to not let her own thoughts wander back to those shadows they saw. How is that world they left behind doing now..?

At that thought she moves the weasel a little closer, gently pressing it to her chest in a hug. "U-Um, please tell me if it's uncomfortable.."

She knows Romeo does like hugs, but she isn't sure if it won't feel weird in this form.

"I promised I'd try to go to you if I felt bad, right? Well.. right now I think I just really can use some company."

It was really scary and the hug was good, it was nice to be so close to Madoka and he rubbed his cheek against her hand.

He nodded, if she needed him he would stay with her. He had promised after all and though he can't talk like this he can hope that the hope feeling he gives out will make her feel better. It is good that even like this he can help keep his friends spirits up.

So he will stay with her as long as she needs!

It's definitely helping Madoka. Sure, maybe it would have helped more if he could actually speak in this form so she could talk to him about all of it too.. but this is Madoka we're talking about. She's going to take whatever she can get and try to be grateful for it.

So that is exactly what the girl is doing here. She's going to just keep sitting there for a bit even as some people start to leave, quietly trying to calm down and process everything that's happened while holding onto Romeo.

Romeo curled up on her and got comfy, letting her sit as long as she needed to whilst they got her spirits to go back up. He was scared, he didn't know what had just happened but here at least he was able to do something to help Madoka. He tried to convey his feelings with the occasional nose nuzzling of her hand.
