Event: Abort! Part Two (day 25, Egret). Luggage carriage

They are on world world#27462947582 for about five hours, helping, ushering people out of the city, fighting monsters, keeping guard. All seems well in the city itself, peaceful even except for the slight panic of people being told to move south.

Wherever they are, north in the desert, travelling through the countryside to the south or still in the city itself they will notice from their peripheral vision a darkening of the sky. Looking up they will see clouds. Strange clouds, appearing in the blue sky out of nowhere.

Their SCA’s start beeping, rapidly, flashing red. The clouds are too weird to be clouds, dark shapes in the sky. It might be that the Voidtreckers heed the warning and tap their SCA to evacuate to the train. It might be that they do not.

If they don’t then there is a moment, a moment of absolute stillness as those around them notice the shapes. A confused pause. Children stop their chatter, people stop their complaining, even the monsters seem to sense something and pause in their attacks.

The remaining voidtreckers are yanked away, even without pressing their SCA, they glow gold and disappear.

They all appear in the luggage carriage and not even a second later, with no warning the train lurches, flinging everyone off their feet as it enters the void.

It’s not really easy to tell speed in the void, but they will get the sense that they are moving fast. Faster than before, leaving that world and whatever those shapes were behind.

Rats! He was going to have to try harder. If Noct wasn't in the way, he could try something he knew Gladio liked- but he would never want Noct to be moved either. He snuggled tighter to Noct's side.

"It's not my fault that mission was scary!" He whined. Although he turned his face to receive that lovely kiss to his cheek. It brought back his smile despite the topic. "I'm sorry you got hurt, Buddy. Do you need some ice?"

Noct sighed softly. "I didn't even get hurt on the mission, it was when the train was leaving." Truly the lamest way to get hurt. He did smile gently at the interactions between Gladio and Prompto. "Um...I don't think I need more ice right now...?"

"There's a puddle on the floor..." Gladio pointed out. That had been ice... but that was a while ago, so it probably wasn't ice any longer.

Then he just settled back into the pillows behind him and let the other two talk it out. He brought his arms up to pillow behind his head and closed his eyes, smiling and listening to their voices.

Prompto tried not to laugh, but it was funny! Poor Noct had the worst luck! He snickered. "We have to come up with a way better story than that!"

He glanced down off the bed. "Oh, is that what I stepped in?" He was actually relieved about that. He left that thought line alone. "Where did you get hurt?"

"In the luggage carriage, when the train sped off." He motioned to his knee. "Just the knee that always gives me some trouble." He took a look at Gladio, who looked content and comfy. It made him smile that the big guy was so relaxed. "I'll be okay in a few days."

He frowned sympathetically down at Noct's knee. That thing was always being a pain. "Did someone fall on you? I fell on Peter- well right in front of him. He sort of saved himself last minute- but whatever. We can say you were gallantly saving one of the kids from being squished by one of the really big guys like uh.. what's that guy with all the hair? Or the one that looks like half alien guy half goat- or deer- or something. I hear Buttercup doesn't talk much, so we can say it was her."

"Oi, that's one of my roommates you're talking about there." Gladio mumbled, very much half dozing and only vaguely paying attention to the voices. But he liked it. He'd always loved listening to people, he loved listening to Prompto babble away about everything and nothing. And with Noct in the mix, it was such a wonderful and nostalgic sound. He almost wished Ignis was there with them to join in on the chatter. Though he did worry if they added a fourth to the bunk it wouldn't survive and would definitely break... And that would be unfortunate.

"No, my knee just twisted." Noct said. "I don't want to blame anyone else for my inability to brace myself." It wasn't fair to anyone, especially someone who didn't talk much. "I'll be okay. More importantly, will I get penalized for having to be off my feet for a few days?" Not that he's been doing chores anyway, which was probably for the better.

"I'm not insulting him! Just.. you know, trying to describe him in case Noct hasn't seen him yet." He draws closer to Noct and whispers (which Gladio can no doubt still hear), "He's kind of scary looking."

Although then the king was ruining his fun about making up some crazy story of how he got hurt. "Well give yourself a break. It was a really sudden jolt. I had to help take Renee to the medical room. She hit her head pretty hard." He glanced to Gladio. "That was before I came back and found Madoka upset."

Gladio grunted softly, not buying it at all. And definitely able to hear Prompto.

But then he said something that had him taking notice and his eyes opened and he found himself sitting up a bit more, arms dropping from behind his head. "Renee? Is she alright?" There was clear concern in his voice. "... I should go check on her."

Noct nodded. His shield seemed really worried about this Renee. "Yeah, of course, Gladio. If you need to go..." He shifted so Gladio could move. "It's okay if I stay here, right?"

Gladio looked at Noct and frowned when he started to move out of the way... He didn't like it. He reached out and wrapped his arm around Noct and pulled him in close, holding him to his chest. "No... I'll check on her later." And maybe he'll bring her something to eat as well, much as she'd done to him. "I just got you both here. I'm not gonna leave you now."

Prompto's grip on Noct tightened just a little when he was moving to let Gladio out. Of course, then the other man didn't take the offer. Instead, Noct was dragged closer, which made Prompto follow. This created a more squished Noct sandwich. The blonde was happy with that, though they were completely crowding the king.

"Cal has been in there watching over her. I didn't know they were together but he sure seemed like it," Prompto explained, tossing in some gossip because- well, what else was there to do around here but be in everyone's business.

Noct relaxed again, enjoying being in between the two men. "I'm glad she's not alone." He didn't even know who she was, but no one should be alone when they're hurting.

Under the pressure, his body was telling him to rest. He nuzzled his nose against Gladio's chest. "Okay, if you're going to stay, I'm going to cuddle."

"I didn't think she would be..." Gladio would leave her be. He'd wait until later and go and visit her, he didn't want to disturb anyone elses time.

Besides, why would he want to leave when he had two beautiful men in his bed? Somehow he'd ended up by the wall, he'd turned himself on his side to take up as little room as he could so that the others could be comfortable as well. Gladio stretched his arm across, curling around Prompto as best he could, so his love wouldn't do something silly like roll off and hurt himself.

"That's fine." Gladio chuckled, and smiled down at Noct. All he could see was the top of his dark head and face pressed to his chest. He glanced at Prompto, just to make sure he was alright with this. This was what the blonde had wanted, right? He didn't ask the question, didn't want to ruin the calm mood between them. He just smiled.

"Yeah, she's pretty awesome. Have you met her yet, Noct? She's a really cute red-head about our age," he continued. "She's on my team- well, my original team. The purple one. It's a good thing she isn't on the orange team. Orange and red hair.." He scrunched his nose at the thought.

He grinned hearing Noct was going to 'cuddle'. It was so cute to hear him say that! Their big bad King wanted to snuggle (okay no one really thought that but still). He peeked at Gladio from around Noct's shoulder with a smile that could solar power a house. He was in bliss! He was pressed up against his best friends and they loved him and he loved them and everything ever was perfect! He didn't have anything to say when his eyes met Gladio's, but he let out a happy giggle.

"No, I haven't." Noct replied, his voice muffled by Gladio's chest. He could hear Prompto giggling at him, but he didn't mind. He moved his head so he could see. "Gladio, I hope you realize I won't be able to sleep normally anymore. You're so comfortable."

It did make him think about something, though. "Do they really force people in relationships to be away from each other, though? Like, we can't bunk together?"

Gladio just rolled his eyes at Prompto, but he couldn't help smiling. He looked happy. That was all he wanted. All he wanted for the both of them was to be happy.

Though Noct was tickling him and that wasn't fair at all. Gladio refused to show weakness though. If he let either of them know, he'd never hear the end of it. He looked down at Noct and gave him a smile too, though his was more apologetic. "I've no idea. I don't know if being in a relationship changes things. Would probably have to ask around?"

Gladio was being so smart. If he let on he was being tickled with Prompto in this overly happy, playful mood, there would be consequences. That blonde goofball would be bounding over Noct in a second to help tickle the big guy till he kicked them all out.

"The Thunder.. somethings are in the same room! There's another couple Feanor- something. But I don't want to leave Yugi. He's awesome! Do you think we could ask if we could bunk together and keep Yugi?" He had no idea who they were asking, but he didn't want to leave his new buddy. "I think he's been staying somewhere else lately though. He might have a boyfriend."

"The Thunder what now?" Noct was a little confused with all these names. "And wouldn't it be weird for the three of us to be rooming with one random guy?" Noct couldn't imagine being stuck in a room with three guys in a relationship.

"Didn't someone get married recently?"

Gladio gave Prompto a funny look, trying to work out who he was going on about. It took far longer than it should have to click. "... You're talking about Dread and Sarai, right? They're married, aren't they? And yeah.." He looked at Noct then. "Someone was recently married. But I've no idea if it was just lucky these guys ended up in the same rooms or people can be moved around." And if they could be moved around, who would do the moving? Maybe they could draw straws?

"Yeah! That's their last name but there's another word to it. Like Thundershadow or Thunder.. cats. I don't know. There's another married couple and then the one that just got married. Iggy is in the room with Tony. So yeah, maybe?"

He frowned at Noct. "He's not some random guy. He's Yugi! He's cool! You'd love him."

He thought for a moment before asking, "Wouldn't it be a pain for the train to have to constantly switch people if they get in relationships and then break up or something?"

Is it becoming more obvious someone in particular isn't really tired enough to take a nap?

Noct shrugged. "I just meant it as an example." He said. "I'm just saying, the poor guy would probably feel awkward."

Prompto had a point, though. Some relationships didn't last. "I guess so. Just sucks that I can't stay with you guys through the night." That was the crux of it.

Gladio let his eyes close. He gave himself a few seconds, time enough to push down on a few things. And then he was able to smile. He kept his eyes closed though. Prompto might not have been feeling tired, but he was.

"Maybe you should see about sharing together?" He suggested. Three of them would be too much.

Prompto wished he had something more to offer to this conversation than he did. However, he could agree it sucked they couldn't be together. He liked Yugi. Although that wouldn't really change if they switched rooms would it?

He looked at Gladio confused. "Sharing wha- no! We're not going to do that without you! The whole point is we want to sleep with our giant teddy bear!"
