Backdated: Egret 26
Who: Renee and OPEN
What: An injured redheaded dumbass has visitors?
Where: Medbay/infirmary/what have you
When: Early on Egret 26, after the train chaos is somewhat abated.
Things were more than a bit hazy after Renee had gotten back to the train. She was...not entirely sure what had happened, but she had been told that she'd taken a really good hit to the head. And yeah, this looked like where you ended up when you were off the working roster. She's been through here before--though usually, she isn't the one in the hospital bed.
So this is both disconcerting and disappointing, to her. She blinks--a lot, as her vision hasn't exactly cleared, yet, and Renee is still nursing a hell of a headache. Yeah, she's not hallucinating, this is still the med bay, such as that is.
"Anyone get the number of what hit me?" she asks, plaintively. Save from what little she does recall? She did this to herself. Worse, she remembers just who was with her when she fucked herself up.
"Is Prisoner okay? Anyone see him lately?"

"Hey," he says as BD hops up on the bed next to the other redhead with an excited but quiet series of overjoyed beeps.
"Can I get you anything?"
no subject
"Hey BD, how you doin'?" She does manage to lift a fist at the droid, and even aim it at him, stopping short of an actual fist bump so she doesn't whack him.
"Beyond that, no, I can't read so I can't keep up with my homework, and I'm not really hungry right now, but thanks." She gives Cal a grateful smile. "I'm glad to see you, too." And that, hey, he didn't get in his own heap of trouble on the mission.
no subject
"Are you sure?" Cal asks and BD looks at him, beeping some in mild annoyance. Cal holds up his hands. "I just wanted to make sure. I'll stop asking."
See, BD is looking out for you, Renee.
Cal settles on a chair nearby and grins when she says she's glad to see him, too. "That's...good to hear. I wanted to get in here sooner, but I wasn't sure if I should."

"No, I ain't seen Prisoner, and I have no idea what hit you. Up for some soup?" He asks, carrying a tray.
He hopes she's going to be okay, but mutants tend to have hard heads. Just look at him.
... Wait, don't look at him, he's got a healing factor. "You forget you don't get better like me?"
no subject
It might be kind of questionable, but Renee knows she's not going to really get better if she doesn't eat, so...it behooves her to eat.
"I didn't forget! I just was...in a bad place when the train teleported us. Like 'flying at the weird shit to kick its collective ass' bad place." Not that Creed should be surprised about that.
no subject
He sets the soup down and shakes his head. "Next time, listen." He admonishes, leaning against the wall.

Kaiba passes her a small something from the kitchen, taking a seat without asking.
"I didn't see you as we left the car."
no subject
"See you made it through though, so that's all good. I can't complain about that! Everything is okay beyond that? I kinda remember us getting the hell outta Dodge at top speed..."
Not that that had anything to do with her concussion, but she's impressed she remembers it.
no subject
Kaiba can't help the worry, despite himself. "How do you feel now?"

"Well Hullo there!" He greets, getting out of his seat and moving over to get a closer look. "That was quite a blow to the head. Glad to see you're awake."
He fishes the screwdriver free of his pocket and scans her briefly to check vitals. "Afraid I haven't, sorry. I wasn't here when you were brought in."
no subject
"I'd ask what the prognosis is, but I know I hit my head pretty damn hard. I know I'm hard-headed, too, but not hard enough to not hurt myself." She sounded sour because she was. But in her defense, she hadn't expected the train to teleport her back when it did...
So she's coming off as mostly healthy, but boy she gave herself quite the concussion...

It's only when Madoka can't seem to find Renee anywhere else that she goes to take a look in the medbay, a gasp escaping her when she finally spots Renee in there. Her being in there can't be good news, after all. So Madoka quickly makes her way inside.
"M-- Miss Renee!"
It's only then that she realises surprised louder talking might not be quite appropriate for someone in here and probably injured, so Madoka awkwardly clasps her hands in front of her mouth for a moment before slowly removing them and speaking more softly.
"A.. Are you okay? What happened..?"
no subject
That might've taken her a moment, because the ol' brain wasn't really firing on all cylinders at the moment, but Renee blinked at the younger girl for a moment. "I happened to me, but to be fair, I didn't expect the train to yank us back. I was flying for that big cloud of black crap, and Prisoner was with me, but then...poof, and I cut out just in time to avoid being a big splat on the train ceiling."
Technically, they still had been a splat on the train ceiling, but less bad than it could have been...
no subject
"I'm glad you managed to stop in time.." She doesn't want to think about the alternative.
Even if Renee already said 'a big splat on the ceiling'. Nope! Don't want to think about it!
"I know our watches started beeping, but the train really should've given us more of a warning.. It's really sad that people got hurt because of how everything happened. You're way too nice to get hurt."

"Unfortunately not," he responds.
"But as for Prisoner, he looked to be doing well when I last saw him. Better than either of you were upon re-entry, I should say," he clarifies.
no subject
He might not, but it was the truth. "Train's too packed these days for me to really be sure, but you're Webmind?" Really, there weren't that many robotic types on the train, so even with her brain rattled, it's an easy guess.
no subject
"And yes, that's me. I try to keep my voice distinct, outside of everything else that's new and strange here!"
He laughs, just a little, mostly at himself.
"My voice is the one thing I've picked for myself, out of all my physical traits."

"Haven't seen him, I'm afraid," she said - which was a shame on two counts, given how memorable he was.
"As for whatever hit us, we're still working on it. If the train won't give it to us, we'll dig up the info ourselves."
She hands over a glass of water she'd thought to bring in from the kitchen. "You think you'll be alright to get out of here after today?"
She's seen some pretty variable regeneration rates, so it wouldn't be a complete surprise, but Nita wants to be sure.

Mostly because she's stubborn, and Renee is the first one to admit that if she left, she'd definitely overdo, and wind up right back in here. Which wouldn't help anyone. So yeah, she's going to try to do the smart thing and behave.
no subject
"Better than having to deal with the train's morning reset on top of all that."
Knowing one's own tendencies - and limits - was a good step regardless.

"I don't know what happened to you, Renee. Were you up on the wall of that city with your team? And no, I haven't seen Prisoner. Hey, do you need anything from the kitchen or the stores? I'd be happy to go and fetch whatever you'd like."
no subject
"No, I was going with Red this time. I probably should've stayed with Purple and just tried to erect a barrier over the city." That definitely would've been the safer idea, in truth.
"I happened to me," Renee admitted. "I was blasting up to meet those dark shapes in the sky, so I was flying when the train evacuated us, and Prisoner was with me. So when I felt the teleport start, I stopped, and I had enough momentum to splat against the ceiling and make him splat with me." She frowned at that, because it wasn't an easy admission to make, that she'd been so stupid.
no subject
He nodded. "Damn those dark shapes, they ruined it for us. I'd like to say Damn the train for pulling us out of there, but I'm suspecting we didn't have the capacity to combat whatever power it was that attacked at that moment. I think it may have wiped the whole planet out of existence." He shakes his head, remembering his dream.
"I see, you got slammed against the Luggage Car's ceiling and so did Prisoner. Hey, accidents happen!" He never thought people were stupid for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is not the first time Fëanor has visited infirmary but for all the previous ones the patient inside was asleep.
"How is your head?"
Not that he really has to ask. From the way she blinks, it's obvious she's still far from fine. But the question surprises him.
"Prisoner? No, I haven't."
It was quite the chaos back there. To say mildly. He intentionally tries not to concentrate on several he found especially disconcerting.
no subject
The grimacing continues when he says that he hasn't seen Prisoner, either. "My head hurts, but I ought to expect that after how hard I hit the ceiling," she admits. "I can't blame anyone but myself, though. Serves me right for going after...whatever that dark crap was."
Renee looks up at him, solemn. "We got any clue as to what the hell that even was? I know I'm not council or anything like that so I know I probably shouldn't be privy to it, but I'm still curious."
She's kind of surprised that the train was afraid of anything, honestly.
