Who: Madoka, her new kitty (Maru/Sleepy Ash) and you!
When: Day 2 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Everywhere on the train
What: Madoka is very excited about her new cat. And also likely making very bad life decisions for herself here by making a contract with a vampire.
Warnings: Likely mentions of vampirism.

(note: threads will mostly be between madoka and your character, maru might randomly jump in to pipe up on some threads, you'll know if/when it happens!)

If you've seen Madoka going anywhere on the train since yesterday, you may have noticed something new about her. Namely the fact that she's dragging a tiny black cat with her everywhere she goes.

Right now she can be found with it in the dining carriage, where she's seated at the table not to eat, but to instead draw in her notebook. She keeps sneaking glances over at the cat as it's sleeping on the table next to her notebook though, and after a while Madoka can't take it and giggles as she gently boops his face with the not-sharp end of her pencil.

"So cute.. Who's the most adorable kitty around? It really is you..!" She's staring at the cat with so much endearment in her eyes, but that's the exact moment where she looks up and only then seems to notice you being there too. Madoka's face immediately grows pink with a blush.

"A--Ah, I'm sorry!" Because apparently she feels the need to apologize for gushing over her cat publically..

Or you may spot Madoka near the on board train shop. Apparently she's been using it, since the girl's arms are loaded with way too many chips for one tiny teenage girl to eat. There's six different bags in her arms, and the tiny black cat is precariously balanced on top of her head. It seems to be going well.. until one of the bags of chips slips out of her hands, falling onto the ground.

"Ah..!"

The girl is trying to pick it up, but it's a difficult process with her arms this full and her not wanting to disturb the sleeping cat on top of her head.. Someone please help the poor girl instead of watching her attempt to bend down and pick it up only to fail.

After a while she figures though that she should probably at least tell some people about the true nature of her kitty. It's going to be really awkward if someone sees him transform and freaks out about it in the middle of battle.. So while carrying the cat in her arms, Madoka makes her way through the train to try and look for people she's close to.

When she finds one of them, she'll offer a small smile and say: "Um.. Sorry, but do you maybe have a moment for me..?"

He looked up and considered Ignis' words. "Is that 'mum's the word' as in you like to be called 'mum' or 'mum's the word' like shut up it's our secret?" He could see it going either way. You know, Wei Ying goes by 'mom' too."

His expression turned curious. "How does Noct make you believe Mady isn't being manipulated?"

He smiled with the hand lightly on his face. It was sweet and helped him feel their bond. They were a team in this. For all of their issues with miscommunication and sharing too small of a space, he could always count on the man to gently tug and remind him of their connection. "We'll see. You may need to be the favorite for a while."

He smiled at Tony with the questions. "I've been called a mother before by Noct..or rather asked." It put their relationship at odd angles but the advisor had shrugged them off.

With the curious expression on his hero's face, Ignis shook his head. "It's the whole saving the world thing. And I highly doubt this cat of hers has a hand in her fate back home since she said her pact has to come from someone else there. He may protect her here and that's a bonus for her and us if that's what he does." If there were any deviations, it would be taken care of and so the advisor didn't worry about it. He simply wasn't one to threaten or rattle cages unlike Tony.

Ignis lightly laughed. "I'm not worried about being a favourite. Time will tell us which way this is going and if we need to take care of things, we will." He then leaned in for a brief kiss but then pulled back. "But I have to ask, are you alright?"

Don't think he didn't notice the non answer there Tony.

He didn't answer for a few moments. His mind going over what Ignis was saying, before he finally spit out what was bothering him.

"Not really. You just believed Maru so quickly and so did she," Tony answered. It was the core of his issue with all of this. "You didn't even ask him questions did you? You assume so much without asking or verifying any of it as fact. I understand you wanting to believe our daughter, but she's young. You have to know how easy it is to manipulate a child. It's scary how easy it is. So if we just accept things on face value, how are we doing our job to use our experience and broader intellect to protect her?"

There was a smile that didn't quite reach the green eyes. "No I didn't ask questions because you were doing that and I wasn't going to get in your way." Ignis replied. "But what you're not seeing is how we're going to keep an eye on the cat. Fighting with Madoka in front of it and turning it into a power play isn't going to help any of us."

He heard the worry, he knew where Tony was going with it. "So let it slip into a sort of comfort zone if you wish to call it that. The moment it makes a mistake we use our knowledge and experience to call it out and get rid of the problem. It's tactical, and subtle." Now there was a slight smile that did reach the eyes..a bit.

"Why you remind me of Noct in battle, just simply going in for the attack. But not every battle can be won with brute strength or sheer aggression."

"That's such a risk.." What if they couldn't stop it in time? What if the cat did it sometime they couldn't be there to see? What if he failed.. again?

He listened and ran a hand over his face, visibly worrying and not trying to hide it. However, he couldn't say Ignis was wrong here either. If he did move before there was a problem, his daughter might lose faith in him. What would happen if she ever changed her mind about being part of their family?

His thoughts were brought back out when Ignis mentioned Noct. "I guess the ones that can't you'd better be the one leading." He reached out and tugged Ignis closer. "At least I know she'll have the very best person watching over her."

"It is a calculated risk admittedly." Ignis however was more than sure they would catch whatever it was because he had faith in Tony and himself. And if it hadn't been proved already, today proved that they made a pretty damn formidable team.

When he was tugged close, the advisor placed a kiss to the top of Tony's dark head and held on, closing his eyes and speaking quietly. "Anthony I love you and we'll protect our little girl together."

He knew his mate was worried, but Ignis had so much faith in his hero and in them as parents. But he smiled as his hold tightened slightly thinking how fitting it was that they were who they were and what colours they wore. Tony was passion and fire and the colour red. Ignis was calculations and coolness and the colour blue.

Tony hoped Ignis was right. He wasn't as convinced but he was trying. His history of losing people he loved though was hard to ignore. If something ever did happen to Mady, he was certain he'd never recover from it.

However, Feanor's words of advice came back to him. They didn't know how long they could have happiness but they should embrace it whenever/ wherever they find it. It was something like that.

He looked up at Ignis finally and smiled. "I love you too." He stood up and drew his fiance into a tight embrace for an even deeper kiss. As he drew back, he smirked. "So you realize, you're now on chip duty for a cat. I knew you were just hoping to have more to do around here."

He waited, but that smile was worth waiting for as Tony pulled back. Ignis had of course opened his eyes and put their foreheads together, unable to stop from returning that precious smile. Those words and that kiss were wonderful and he had to remember that their daughter was waiting for them both so they couldn't let it get out of hand.

The advisor had no idea what chip duty was (was that some sort of reference to snacks for the cat?) but he smiled. "I suppose it won't be too bad, After all I don't have a husband to chase after, so I might as well chase after a cat."

Noct was cat like too, but he wasn't going to be chasing the king.

"Oh really?" He asked, with a laugh. "Aren't I already a handful enough for you?" He teased. He could sense just where that train of thought was going, but he delicately side stepped. He was still thinking about where and when that was going to happen. It would at some point, he knew. It was just a matter of when this place would calm down enough for them to have something fun like that.

Perhaps a small part was still worried after their recent breakup and wanted a little more time to pass. It was hard to say for sure.

He pinched Ignis' ass and then nodded for the man to follow him. "So what kind of chips are you going to make for Garfield?"
