Fiddlesticks day 3: Kitty feeding

Who: Trowa, Maru
Where: Dining car

Sitting in the dining car, Trowa had a plate with bacon and some sausage that had been made from the boars that had been brought back from the last mission. It was probably way too much for Amira, but he wanted her to have options in what she ate. Stroking the tiny kitten, he smiled as she sniffed at the food.

Reaching over, Trowa ran his hand down Maru’s side. The cat was just as soft as he looked, and it made the teen smile. He reached up to scratch behind Maru’s ears for good measure, he’d never met a cat of any size who disliked that.

The petting was fine. He honestly didn't mind it. Maru really did feel he was probably more cat than person and would have happily lived his life like that.

Except how did they always find his weak spot??

Maru began to purr and press into the fingers rubbing at his ear. It wasn't fair that they automatically reached for his ears. It was so cruel. But it felt so good.

Trowa couldn't help grinning as Maru began to purr. It seemed cats were cats, no matter the species. He occasionally even scritched the small creature's head between the ears just for some variety.

He really was more cat than anything else, he was sure of it. But could he be blamed? Before coming to the train be had barely had any pets like this, except for maybe the girls at Mahiru's school... And his creator... once upon a time.

So it was nice. And he was enjoying it. All the people who couldn't help just reaching over and petting him should have been so bothersome. But the cat in him was happy to have those gentle fingers rubbing between his ears and scritching behind them.

Trowa was enjoying himself as he scratched Maru's ears. He did so blindly, making sure Amira wasn't feeling left out. She looked down at Maru, though, like she wanted to be on the cushion with him. So Trowa picked her up and set her on the seat as well, scooting his chair out and turning it a little so he could easily reach both cats.

Okay, it was a bit odd when the other cat joined him. Maru cracked an eye open but the cat didn't seem like it would try and bite or scratch him so he settled down some.

"... She's not gonna bite me is she?" he had to ask, just to be on the safe side.

Amira had sniffed at Maru a little before settling down in a classic loaf position. "No, she won't bite you. But this way I can pet both of you easily." Trowa smiled happily and went back petting them each.

"Oh..." Did cats get jealous? He never got jealous. Though that was mainly because jealousy took time and effort to have to deal with and Maru had neither of those things. And he wasn't really a cat... Even if sometimes he wished he was. Because wasn't life easier when you were a cat?

At Maru's side, Amira purred like a motor as her ears were petted as well. Trowa was just happy to have cats around him, it made him miss the circus lions less.
