Cooking With Gladio
Who: Gladio and OPEN
What: Gladio cooks. ^^ Come by and eat his food, it's not half bad!
Where: Kitchen, mainly.
When: Fiddlesticks day 8. Afternoonish.
While he may not have been a fancy cook or professional in any way, Gladio wasn't a slouch in the kitchen. He knew his way around and he could rustle something up in a pinch if he needed to. So that's how he ended up in the kitchen with Noct teaching him how to make a simple spaghetti and sauce meal. Though he did go a little adventurous and make meatballs for it as well.
It was strange to make something for so many people though. He normally had a hard time gauging amounts and would often make too much of a thing. Now they were deliberately doing that to make sure that everyone on the train had a chance to eat (and seconds, if they wanted!)
With the train rocking as it was, once the HUGE pan of spaghetti was made, Gladio kept it in the kitchen where it was safe. He had bowls ready. When the guys got hungry, he would be ready.
In the meantime... he decided to make cupcakes as well.

"Yeah, come on in. Hope spaghetti and meatballs are do your liking?" Or just normal spaghetti. There was a large pan of it without, just in case.

"I'm not sure I've ever-" she looks around, eyes settling on the pan. "Ah. That would be spaghetti?"
no subject
He smiled and spooned a little into the bowl, grabbed a fork and added it before handing it over. "... If you like it there's more. A hell of a lot more."
no subject
She eyed the bowl, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Forgive me... but how exactly do you eat this?"
no subject
He grabbed two spoons and a fork and set his bowl on the counter. "Like this." He took the spoon and the fork in his hands and, using the spoon he twisted the long strands of spaghetti on the fork with the spoon there to help. He kept twirling the fork until he'd wound the spaghetti around it enough and then lifted it for her to see.
"Kind of like that. Spaghetti should be fun." He popped the fork into his mouth and winked. Yep. Pretty damn good if he said so himself!

It's questionable as to whether that's exactly the case; Zelda watches Gladio demonstrate with an intensity that strongly suggests that if she ever considered food fun, it was a long time ago.
Gingerly she picks up her own fork and carefully mimics his actions. Her first bite is long, slow, and considered. Then-
"It's good," she says with some surprise.

"Perfect! Now I've your approval, I'm sure everyone else will like it too." Gladio grinned. "There's more if you'd like it."
no subject
She eyes the spaghetti again; there does seem to be a lot of it.
"Well, perhaps just a bit more...."

"I really shouldn't take too much, I think. I'd like to try another dive tonight, and it wouldn't do to overeat. But thank you, nonetheless."

"A group has gone down to investigate investigate where it leads, but I'm not sure whether they've found anything yet. I've been focusing on the crab attacks; until they wake up, the townspeople are defenseless against them."
no subject
"I'm sure they'll be back with news soon." He reassured her. "Those crabs... I keep hearing about them." And seeing them. Someone kept bringing them up and putting them in the freezing unit.

The Voidtreckers are going to spend the next month getting progressively sick of crab meat, aren't they?
"They're not terribly dangerous individually. But they come in packs, and if there are any defenses against them in the city, I haven't seen them. The sooner the scouting group discovers something, the better I'll feel."
