training gym
- Oh, Tidus is here for climbing on things like a monkey, which he does on absolutely everything: pulling out the balancing beams, the giant cubes, all positioned to be accessible from one to another. He's dressed as appropriately as he can get in a polo shirt and pants, a water bottle and towel left by the wall for when he needs them.
But just walking along everything isn't enough, oh no--that is, not with his feet.
He balances by his hands on the beams, 'walking' with his legs held up above. When one beam meets another, he might consider righting himself, flexing at his elbows in preparation for a jump of irregular height; landing on the next one with a wobble now and then and arms coming out to help catch his balance. Usually, a fun laugh to go with it.
Other times, he puts two together to test his backflips on the narrow structure. Sometimes succeeding, and other times--
"Wh-whoa!"
--his foot catching on the edge, causing him to tumble off, knocking into one of the cubes set aside that he hadn't decided what to do with.
Catch him either with some pride, or in his embarrassment. Or even hanging from the climbing apparatus, where if he sees anyone come in with flipped facing out, he'll give a "Hi!", before jumping to catch hold onto the bar.
training gym: magic training
- But other than stretching one's limbs, Tidus has plenty of good reasons to keep up his training. But for the times he doesn't have a partner, he has certain other skills he's trying to get better at.
With either his blade in one hand or put away, his left hand is free, balled into a fist and glowing, causing small swirls of lights that shimmer with the same colours of an aurora borealis. They come, then cut short--sometimes a brief golden flicker surrounding Tidus before cutting short, or from his hand, a small burst of energy that gets even Tidus to snap his hand back and wave it when it catches him, a small swear escaping under his breath.
The same glowing effect may also be attempted on his blade, a fist still held first to help concentration before it shimmers. Dusting the rust off a few spells, though doing this without any real stimulation does get him to sigh to himself, say to no one in particular:
"Sure wish we had some fiends to fight."
Man, never thought he'd be wishing for that.
gymnasium: BALLS
- But the gymnasium doesn't get forgotten by Tidus just because there's a massively awesome new car to love.
After all, you can't take the ball games out of the sports guy. He's taken to putting the basketball hoops in use with a football/soccer ball (as you do), or whatever ball he gets his hands on first. It works though, seeing as he's only using it to throw into the hoop, testing his throw at different distances: in front of the goal, but also moving slightly farther and farther back when he wants to increase the challenge.
The more basketball-minded people can come and correct him if they so please. ...but it may be beyond this guywho at other times, when rather innocuously balancing a ball from the end of his foot, kicking it up and sometimes swapping feet...
Will kick it either close up or at a distance, with the sole intention of shooting a goal by the use of his feet.
Sometimes, he gets it--most times, he doesn't. A few of the times, the ball smacks the wall and goes flying--hopefully, not towards you!
standard coach
- But he can't be training all the time. Now and then, he needs to just flop, which usually means disappearing into the standard coach and taking up one of the tables. Watching the kaleidoscope of colours out of the window with his head resting against a fist, until the fragmented hues get too hypnotic, and he has to break himself out of it with a shake, blinking away the hues clinging to his eyes.
Other times, he pretends to read, though the glazed half-lidded expression usually gives him away. A game of solitaire keeps his attention better, but otherwise most of the time, he's got his head propped on folded arms, looking close to drifting asleep. Now and then, holding the necklace he usually wears around his neck, thumbing the edges.
Maybe it's boredom.
wildcard
- Feel free to mix up any of the above prompts a bit, to pick what your character witnesses or to have Tidus come in on your character doing things! He'll be happy to engage with people he's never met before or take an interest. For anything training related, he'll practice sword fighting with others, but also someone who can do with help with hand to hand or even leg work--guy has no experience and has been trying to get better on the train.
If you'd like to thread with Tidus but none of the above click with you, feel free to send me a PM or reach me over on
for dread thunderstorm
Not that it's important. What's important is that the posters about her say to speak to Dread, and so earlier in that month (before the train stop), Tidus searched out for the man he knew by his passenger photo, and that he shared the same room as Light.
But where can a guy looking for the married man find him, by chance? Will it be by a knock on his cabin door?
no subject
Hearing the knock, he rose from his squished seat on his bed, and opened the door.

for piccolo
Tidus hasn't long since come into the gym, and what Piccolo is doing...well, probably not breaking a sweat or recovering from one, that's for sure. He doesn't think he's ever seen the green guy pant, let alone shed a bead of exertion.
The question may seem unprompted, but it's been in the back of Tidus's mind for a while, something he's been meaning to ask. Was it a Piccolo thing, or was it something more than that?
'Cause the guy is fast, too, and for someone who takes pride in his own speed -- hey, he wants to know how he does it!
no subject
"The Makankōsappō," he replied. "It's a special ki technique that I created to defeat...a particularly strong foe." Who now turned out to be a really good friend but details.

for taiki
Some people use the ICP system to locate people. Tidus thinks that's a waste of an excuse to be moving, and so searches the different cars until he finds the quiet guy. Kinda relaxing even, without even trying.
Which has nothing to do with the reason Tidus is smiling as he comes up to him, the kind that reaches his eyes. Or is that something else that has him beaming so?
Taiki will just have to wait and find out!
no subject
He looks up though at the voice and nodded, smiling back though his is a lot more tentative. "Hello Tidus."

standard coach
"Hey, this is no time to sleep!" Without a single warning he just loudly announces himself like that and plops himself down on the seat in front of Tidus, a big grin on his face. "C'mon, Tidus, you have to help me beat my old house of cards record."
Okay, maybe Inigo is slightly worried about the weird drifting off Tidus seems to be doing, but this is just his way of approaching the problem with a solution without necessary pointing it out. Sure, Tidus may not even care about it being pointed out, but Inigo is well aware some people can be stupidly prideful about it, okay.
no subject
Tidus doesn't even get the time to lift his head--a game of cards set before him, despite the folded arms and propped head placement he's taken--before Inigo's in the seat opposite of him, eyebrows risen to his entrance.
He looks between the simple solitaire game he's got going on and Inigo, sliding his arms to rest of their elbows. Expression lifting in surprise.
"You know what cards are?"
He stares at Inigo, to allow that question to sit for a few seconds to get any kind of reaction -- before eventually the side of his mouth turning with a smile. Heh.

for maru & madoka (backdated early fiddlesticks)
mistress?? contract??friend!) for a game. And maybe the arrangement is a little odd under normal circumstances, but screw it. They're all stuck on this ride, just a bunch of oddballs dumped together. And why not?Should be fun, right?
So when Tidus spots Maru, a hand comes up in greeting, a friendly smile to go with it.
"Hey! Still up for a game?"
no subject
At the wave, Maru lifted his own hand, flicked it and then let it drop. He glanced at Madoka then back at the blonde man. ... Was it blondes? Was there a rule somewhere that said blondes had to have more energy than they knew what to do with? "Uh... yeah. Sure. I guess so."

Catching sight of Tidus made the advisor's green eyes crinkle but only just a little and it was gone before anyone could notice. So he waited patiently while the other seemed to be bustling about, far be it from Ignis to interrupt..whatever it was the other was presently doing.
Still, he waved at the blonde good naturedly to say hello in passing, still checking everything out.
no subject
Which is what he's in the middle of, or attempting, seeing the possibilities in the gear that's been pushed to the side and now being brought out by yours truly. Cubes next to beams and a jumping board tentatively brought out its placement along the way.
With the end of one of the balancing beams in his hand, pulled into position behind his back to get it in place, the task is paused as Tidus lets it drop with a small 'oh!' when he spots Ignis, expression brightening as he gives a wave back.
"Yo, Ignis! Sup? You come to get a workout?"

training gym
What he hadn't expected was the incident that had just happened before him. Timcampy flew on over, covering over the other briefly before flying back.
"I... am going to take a guess that you were doing some kind of training."
no subject
"Just stretching the limbs, really! ...That wasn't part of the stretching," he adds, a joke on himself that ends with the throw of a smile. Hands finding behind him the stuffed cube, Tidus gives an easy hop, and manages to do somewhat better by plopping his butt down on top of it.
"What's up? Come to check out the space?" Asking, with his gaze flitting over to them: "Who's your friend?"

for gyousou (fiddlesticks 18)
Hello, Gyousou, don't mind a familiar blond approaching you on this fine day--catching you during a moment you don't seem too preoccupied (including movie watching--no need to disturb a guy watching his films!), or so Tidus hopes, friendly in his walk over and questioning.
He's had things on his mind lately, and a guy like a king--he might jut be able to help Tidus out!

He has a smile ready for Tidus, in any case.

even more dread thunderstorm (fiddlesticks 18)
Back on their first meeting, Tidus didn't know the large man was a team lead. Back then, it didn't really matter, and Tidus hadn't gone on his team designated mission to be familiar with any of the three Purple leads.
But today it does matter (hopefully), and seeing nobody else by the name of Dread on the passenger roster, he goes to the singular source of the name he knows, raising a hand in greeting, his other hand shoved in the pocket of his hoodie.
"Heya! Read you're one of Purple's team leads?"
no subject
"More by virtue of being here the longest than anything," Dread said, leaning on the door jamb out of an unconscious desire to not block the whole thing, and never mind that nothing he or anyone could do would get them effortlessly past him. "Got a problem?"

❥ set to 24th fiddlesticks
after all they've been through and he wanted to reject her affections? it didn't sit well with the sphere hunter.
she tried getting her mind off it, instead opting to partake in various activities on the train. at the end of the day however, she often found herself sitting in one of the chairs, looking out the window. today, on one of those days, she felt a piece of paper fall on her head. taking it, she opened it and saw it contained a simple greeting from tidus.
'hey yuna.', it said.
with a soft sigh, she simply wrote down hello back on it and tossed it back in the direction it came from. )
no subject
Since, well, she's been avoiding him--and Tidus will admit, he's been avoiding her too. Their last conversation didn't have him feeling too great, and he's been telling himself that he did the right thing. He did, just--it didn't mean he was going to be happy about it.
But it's been more than a week, and he misses her. It's like they've really parted ways in all sense of the word, and it drives him up the wall. He doesn't want this total rift between them, no matter what's for the best.
Now, though--where does he go after hi?
Eventually, he comes up with something, the next ball bouncing off her shoulder and landing on the table. A new scrap piece from his notebook, with crumbled up inside:
'how do shoopufs say good bye to each other?
shoo long!'

for minako aino
It seems Minako's gotten to the VR headsets before Tidus, though there's plenty of the devices to not have to bother the girl, who Tidus recognises from their short talk, her social presence on the train. Her self-proclaimed title as a love guru--a title that wanders into his head upon seeing the back of hers, coming to join her at where the headsets and controllers sit.
Hopefully, she's currently not too far into the game; though most aren't bad for letting in other people suddenly.
day 30 of fiddlesticks; yuna
[ Tidus meets her in the quiet coach car--or rather, he catches her there, knowing she would've gone to breakfast like everyone else early in the morning. Deciding to wait for her leave in the car adjacent, not wanting to go in himself.
He doesn't have the appetite, and he doesn't want to see her too early. Sure, that ended up meaning standing around like an idiot while he waited, but that was the least of Tidus's concerns. The actual pressing matter was the conversation he was about to have--maybe, depending on Yuna's decision.
The one he currently waits for, standing there, his expression sombre for so early in the day. ]
no subject
this was her first real relationship and experience with this kind of situations so naturally she wasn't sure what to do. she thought long and hard about her life and what she had been doing these past couple of months. an endless amount of searching, travelling- all in the name of bringing back tidus.
yet here she was, an arm's reach away from him and yet feeling so apart from him.
when he approached her, yuna seemed a bit more softer this time around. her expression was calm and she simply glanced at tidus. )
Alright...

for taiki (grasshopper 3)
It would have been evident there was something Tidus wanted to say once he saw Taiki, there in the standard coach. A brief hesitant step where he pauses upon seeing the guy, thinks, and then says what he does, in a bizarrely hushed voice and lowering himself to sit on the edge of the adjacent seating.
Tidus wears his emotions plainly, most often and not. And he doesn't look so much troubled right now, as perplexed.
Re: for taiki (grasshopper 3)
But his confusion doesn't last out long once he sees how Tidus looks. Confused, worried, hesitant.
"Yes... What do you wish to speak of?" He put down the pencil he was drawing with and turned, so he was giving Tidus his full attention.
