Who: Xue Yang and Anyone
Where: Kitchen
When: Fiddlesticks Day 17
What: Attempting at cooking? Yeah that is it...Feel free to stumble upon his attempts.
Warnings: It's Xue Yang..so there could be talk or actual violence
Xue Yang has some business to take care of in the kitchen. He doesn't know how to cook and he doesn't particularly care if what he is cooking actually turns out. He has made sure to pick a time when it would be quiet, before anyone wants to begin working on anything for breakfast. He had some activities last night that now require the destruction of anything that might tie him to that activity.
The item in question is already laid out in the bottom of the oven, the temperature set at 425 degrees because that just seemed like a decent place to set it. And to make sure things don't seem suspicious in the least, a pan full of uncooked bacon has also been set in the oven. He doesn't know if that's how you actually cook bacon but at least the smell of that cooking might mask the scent of something else burning.
He rummages around until he finds something that he can snack on while he waits for a certain item to no long exist. As he is doing that he notices the smoke that is escaping from around the edges of the oven door. That's either a good sign..or a bad sign. And he's not too worried so he's not going to open that oven until he is sure that the item inside is certainly nothing but ash. At least the room is smelling like bacon so part of the plan is working.
He finds some carrot sticks and munches on them as he waits.

"Would you consider these a lost cause or should the effort be made to save them?"

Frankly, she wasn't about to waste food, whichever way they went. She's had to salvage or go without food in the past, and had been to areas were food security wasn't a given; there was no way she'd let it go to waste if it could be saved.
The paper towels are..relatively easy to grab hold of from where she was sitting, but a look around revealed that the actual plates were in the upper cabinets. She could open those with some effort, but the actual items she needed were just out of reach.

He grew up on the streets and food had always been something hard to come by but since becoming a cultivator he has made sure he always got whatever he wanted. It's not like he likes to waste food, but in this case it was more a distraction then anything and he figured someone would desire it despite how crispy it might be. His team is in charge of cooking but that doesn't mean it has to be good cooking.

This wasn't the military of course, not entirely, but she's been needing help so often since waking up in the medi-car. Any little thing she didn't need help in, she would try to take advantage of.
She accepted the plate however, setting the paper towel on it, then the bacon-she hoped a majority of the passengers liked theirs extra crispy. Even with her good arm, her movements were stilted, but it had to be done.
"Did you plan on making anything else?" She did notice they were on the same color team, but the present time was her concern was NOT burning down the kitchen car.

"I suppose if people want vegetables I might be able to boil water." He has watched others do that much at least so he has some minimal knowledge on how to do that much.

She saw the color of his attire, then recalled something of team duties; perhaps KP was their assignment.
"If this is anything like some military bases," She never thought she'd be grateful for her stint in KP. "We can.." She sighed. "I'll try to help as best I'm able to, but I'm reduced to using one arm for the time being. Right now eggs, bacon, see if they have porridge or something for oatmeal."
She had no idea how many people were living here, cooking in bulk seemed the best idea for the present.

"Is this what I should be looking for?"
He brings it over, casually looking at it to see if he can understand what kind of strange food would come in a box.

For the present, either this guy wasn't or he was from a much earlier time than even Cassie was. She'd been to multiple parts of China in her career before and most people had an idea on what the brands were, even translated.
"This is it," She took the box and looked at the directions, quickly doing some math in her head for amounts. "You make it similar to rice, but it's cooked for a much shorter time."

He didn't really know how to use the stove any more then he understood the oven, but he looks at the buttons and cranks one of them all the way on. Clearly the hotter the better. He's used to cooking over a fire and you can't exactly regulate that.
He puts some water in the pot and places it on top of the burner. He looks over at her, assuming she will tell him if he is doing things incorrectly. He didn't read the instructions and is merely going on instinct but cooking rice..oatmeal..can't be too hard.

"I'll watch this and turn the heat down when it boils. See if we have any eggs-whole or liquid form."
Eggs, bacon and oatmeal seemed a little over the place, but it was suffice. Inwardly, Sonya wished she had the use of both arms. Biscuits were easy to make and she could whip up a lot of them in a hurry-if she had the use of both arms after this.
"Oatmeal, eggs, bacon.." She thought of something else. "See if we have any bananas or berries we can set aside as well."
Not really the most creative of menus, she'll admit, but considering she had no real idea of what they had (aside from bacon), and this guy was even more clueless-well, they'd have to make due. Perhaps later in the day she'd have a better inventory.

After a little rummaging around he finally found the box that keeps things cold. He found the eggs and later a few of the fruits. He brought all of that over and set them on the counter.

When he finally placed the ingredients on the counter, Sonya felt her broken arm itch even more in the cast. If she were fully healed, she could manage on her own; as it was, he would still have to do much of the work. Atleast, the bananas and berries would be simple enough.
The water started to boil, and she eyeballed about a third of the oatmeal and some salt, before turning the heat on low.
"If you can crack..say 12 eggs into a bowl, then hand me a frying pan, a whisk, and one of the white spatulas, I'll take care of the rest."

"How did you get hurt?" He wonders if it happened on that strange place they had been manipulated into assisting. He hadn't particularly cared about helping out but at least he got to kill things.

She kept an eye on the pot, stirring on occasion to keep it from sticking. "Then found myself here."
There was more of course, but even if they were on the same team, she couldn't bring herself to become that open about what happened. Bad enough she had to face it in her sleep.
She'd set a skillet on the stove, along with some butter to melt while he scrambled the eggs. Every attempt to lift something is brought with suppressed pain, but they had a job and like hell was she not going to help out if she could.
"Thanks.." She poured the eggs into the skillet and started to make scrambled eggs.
"We'll need two platters for the eggs and bacon, the oats could remain in the pot, just kept on the stove." She'll get the fruit set up last.

So at least he doesn't have to deal with all of that, but there is still the knowledge that if he ever leaves the train, his story is over. Not that it really bothers him that much. Death doesn't scare him and he deserves it for the things he has done.
He just finds it interesting that of all the people to save..the train chose him.
