Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

Alice had never been to an adult party, she had only ever been to a few, and what few she had been to were silly and mad. But she had found a very pretty black dress that fit her perfectly, with shoes to match. However, she couldn't find a mask that fit, all of them meant for older, bigger faces.

She gazed over the selection of food, taking a cupcake here, a couple of chocolate-covered strawberries, and whatever else tickled her fancy. She didn't know what they were celebrating, but Alice wasn't complaining.

However, Alice also wasn't entirely paying attention as she reached out for a petit four only for her hand to bump into someone else's. "Oh, ah I beg your pardon," she pulled her hand back.

Della pulled back, all smiles. "Hey, go for it, kiddo." She wasn't much for dresses or masquerades, so she went in a slightly different direction. Her own mask was hanging lopsided on the side of her head.

"There's plenty for everyone, I can grab something else. I'll eat anything." And she will.

"Are you sure, Mrs. Duck?" Alice turned to look towards her. "You look very dignified, Mrs. Duck. I'm quite partial to little petit fours! They're so pretty and so tiny! Like a perfect little bite of sweetness in one mouthful!"

"Then I'll have petit ones through threes." She flashed a grin, trying to pull a pretty bad Mom Joke.

Alice giggled, she liked the joke quite a bit (... she is also seven though and her mother does not "joke.")

"Perhaps we should slice it then to match its size. If we put two together, they shall be petit eights!"

"Hey, if it tricks my stomach into thinking I ate more, I'm all for it. I haven't had these in over a decade." Perfectly fine information to dump on a child.

Kitty pulled her hand back as well, glancing down at the girl and recognizing her from a few days ago.

"No, that's okay," she said with a smile. Then using a napkin, she picked up the confectionery and held it out to the young girl. "Here."

Alice paused and then smiled, taking it and adding it to her plate.

"Thank you, Miss Kitty. I think, well, thankfully, there does seem to be another one. Why don't you get one too?"

"You're welcome. And you're right. Luckily there does seem to be enough here for everyone." She picked up one of the other pastries and placed it on her own plate. "I've never actually had one of these before."

She'd heard about them - some stories in English Lit had mentioned petit fours - but she'd never actually seen them in person until now.

"Oh, they're lovely. Just the perfect amount of sweetness in one bite! Sometimes two, but if it's any more than three, it isn't a petit four anymore." She gave a solemn nod, clearly quite convinced of her logic. "Sometimes, they've jelly in the center! Or jam!" and there was a difference. "Sometimes there's cream in the center. It's always a bit of a mystery as the frosting hides everything."

Kitty couldn't help a small smile; this kid was both intelligent and sweetly innocent. It was really cute. "So which do you prefer in it? Jam or cream?"

Elegantly dressed in the following outfit: Rose Gold suit Gold Mask And with his hair done up in a fancy new braid: Braid for Mixer But in yellow Glorfindel did not feel he was being particularly hard to identify. But the young lady he'd just bumped into was not someone he'd met face to face yet.

"Please, by all means, my lady. I was reaching for the one next to it."

Oh... he was very tall... AH! Was... were those pointed ears?!? Was he an elf? Alice looked at him a long time and then shook her head, blushing when she realized she was staring.

"Oh, ah... I-I beg your pardon, sir." She looked at his ears again. "I beg your pardon... but... but are you an elf?"

"It was the ears that gave me away, wasn't it?" Glorfindel asked, smiling down at her. "I am an elf. You are a human, correct?"

He looked around, then bent down and whispered, "My name is Glorfindel." He wasn't sure of the rules of this masked party, but surely he could share his name with one person.

She gave a small nod. "At least, I believe I'm a human, I'm rather sure I am. I've not been told I'm anything else.... at least, not anything else that wasn't intended to be an insult." Wonderland and the Looking Glass weren't exactly filled with kind people.

"I'm little Alice," she gave a curtsy. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Glorfindel." She tilted her head. "It's a very pretty name. It sounds like Glory and Fiddle put together. Which makes you quite bright and musical... are you, those things I mean?"

"Sometimes it is what we believe that matters most. Now, if you were to tell me you believed yourself to be a cat, I might not believe you, but a human, absolutely." [Ancient elves spaeking in riddles, check.]

"Thank you. I think your name is very pretty too," Glorfindel said. "I do enjoy music a great deal, and I definitely can be bright. Though in my language, my name means 'golden hair.'" He patted his hair to show why.

He hadn't been going for the same thing as the small girl, but something just past it. Still their hands bumped and Maru, not deterred in the slightest, went and grabbed the sandwich beyond the petit fours.

"Hm?" He tilted his head to look down at the girl, then back to what he was doing, and held out the sandwich. "Did you want this?" His mask made it harder to see the girl so he lifted a hand to push it up his face a little.

"Hmm? Oh ah, no sir, thank you. I was going for the petit four, the little cake there. I didn't even see the sandwich," she looked at the insides and what looked like ham? Turkey? "What kind of sandwich is it?"

"Ham... That's mostly what we have here." The meat of the day was always some kind of pork product. He was told each month it changed. This month it was pork in all it's forms. Including a lot of ham and bacon.

Still, a sandwich was a sandwich and it was hard to get them wrong. Maru eyed some of the more well done items on offer and repressed a shudder. "The safer option I think."

Alice, while she didn't DISLIKE ham or pork in general, was more fond of other meats. Though she had no idea that there was a "meat of the month" as it were. "What do you mean the safer option?"

Alice was unaware of Minako's cooking abilities.

Maru nodded toward some of the other foods on other plates. "Those look... either over done or underdone. Either you will have a bad taste in your mouth or get sick." He hoped for a bad taste, being getting sick would be bad.

"The sweets are good though." He liked the small cakes and things, those he'd already had a few of.

"Oh- that's quite alright. Do go ahead." Aziraphale responded in a gentle tone, politely moving out of the way.

He sports brighter colors than what were suggested for the party, but he at least seems to keep mostly in theme.

"Thank you very much, sir!" she smiled. "I'm really very fond of sweets! Do you like them?"

"I do enjoy them very much." He smiles back, gentle and polite. "It's been quite a while before I could enjoy some."

"Oh, well, no need to hold back here, I suppose. It is a party, and thankfully at this one, we aren't told to move down, move down whenever someone's teacup is clean!"
