Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

Hm, another strike. Third time's the charm?

"In that case... want me to get you out of here? I can put you in your cabin, or where you wanna chill." Della could always return to the party later, it was no biggie. This person needed help, so she would help, plain and simple.

[irrationally]

Alice opens her (now tiny) mouth, and for a moment it looks like she's about to shoot down that idea too. But then she slowly seems to realise something and her shoulders sag in something between defeat and acceptance.

"Perhaps just take me right outside of the carriage for a moment. I might be able to grow myself back to my regular size." And outside of the party is a better place to attempt that than in here, where she's very likely to be trambled once she's on the ground if she doesn't pay close attention to everyone's feet.

[sos_pilot]

"All right, here we go." She walked slowly and carefully, doing her best not to knock off her new friend.

"Name's Della Duck. I just arrived here a little while ago. You looked a little familiar, that's I headed on over."

[irrationally]

"I did?"

Alice sounds rather surprised at that. Of course "looked familiar" means that she's thinking more of everything back home than a resemblance she may have to a certain other someone here, which means that Alice is quickly going through her memory to see if she has a memory of any talking ducks in Wonderland..

.. well, she's pretty sure certainly not any that looked anything like Della. So that leaves the question wide open.

"Why?"

[sos_pilot]

"It was the outfit." She explained as they talked. "Reminded me of that nice kid, Alice Liddel, I think? She mentioned meeting the older version of her, so I thought you might be that."

Must not shrug! Must not shrug!

[irrationally]

Please, don't launch her straight off your shoulders through the air..

"Ah.. Yes, that would be me." At least that explanation makes sense. It's probably the only one that'd make sense in a place like this. "We're very different from one another though, so I'm hoping you weren't expecting to meet another nice kid."

[sos_pilot]

"Hey, if we were all the exact same when we got older, there wouldn't be any point in being older at all!" Della continued to smile kindly, not put-off by the warning.

"Besides, I'd like to get to know you for you."

[irrationally]

Alice won't really disagree with that point.

Although she does think her own case is rather unique. After all, she's really hoping that somehow the younger Alice can turn into a better older Alice. One that isn't incredibly broken and much ruder than she ought to be. It's a sentiment she keeps to herself though, in favour of:

"You wouldn't be the first person here to say that." Her tone is almost slightly exasperated, despite the topic.. "Why are the people here so oddly friendly?"

[sos_pilot]

"I can't speak for them," Della said, gesturing back but then poking herself in the chest. "But I just like to make friends. I was alone for a long time, so I guess I'm trying to make up for it."

[irrationally]

This is the part where Alice would say she can't get that, since she actually likes being alone. But that's just an act and she knows it. She's growing exceptionally fond of the company of a few specific people here, after all, even though she has such a hard time admitting it.

So clearly it's time to keep focusing on Della rather than her own feelings.

"Even if it's on a train hurdling through quite literally nowhere?"

[sos_pilot]

"Especially if it's on a train hurdling through quite literally nowhere!" Della grinned, the very prospect super exiting for her. "I do this kinda stuff all the time back home with the family, so it's nice to spread my wings and see new faces!"

[irrationally]

"With the family?"

Alice tries to imagine her family doing something like this. It's.. hard, for sure, and not just because they've been dead for so long. They were just always so domestic that she can't imagine them all going on a wild adventure like this together.

".. I do suppose you'd get used more easily to something like this if you were doing it already back home."

[sos_pilot]

"That's right! My whole family is made of up adventurers and explorers. We travel the globe to solve mysteries and rewrite history!"

[irrationally]

Okay, hold on a second there. Alice has heard of impossible things before. She's seen impossible things happen. So she knows that could be very well meant literally, but that brings a whole different slew of problems with it.

(Hey, at least she seems interested in someone else for once. It's that natural curiosity rearing its head from deep down..)

"Why did you rewrite history? Did the people involved give you their permission?"

"Oh, no no no no, not literally, that never ends well." Della answers with a hand up. "I mean like changing the way we thought we knew history... like finding out a great hero was actually just a thief, or a lost civilization chose to hide itself away!"

[irrationally]

"That's much better."

And reassuring, judging by the way Alice tensed up earlier and now seems to relax - as far as Alice can ever relax, really - on Della's shoulder.

"Most great heroes were just thieves anyway. "Heroes" love to pretend they are so much better than they actually are."

[sos_pilot]

"Depends on what you define as a hero." Della never seemed to lose her cheer, even with Alice's negativity. "I'd say my family's pretty heroic! Not perfect, but pretty darn good."

[irrationally]

"I think you might be just a tad biased there," she says, with no small amount of sarcasm. Not that she's necessarily doubting that Della's family could be actual heroes, but.. you know. It's just a fact that most people tend to be biased when it comes to their own family. Alice sure would be when it comes to saying nice things about them.

Suddenly she pauses.

"Ugh.. Put me down, I think I feel a hiccup coming on."

And she really doesn't want to crush Della's shoulder by suddenly turning back to full size right on top of it.

[sos_pilot]

"Huh? ... Okay, if you say so."

Not sure what hiccuping had to do with height, Della put her hand to her shoulder so Alice could move, and then knelled down to put Alice on the floor.

"You feeling okay?"

[irrationally]

"I'm fine, it's just--"

She can't even finish the sentence. It's a good thing that she's already standing on the ground by that time, because right as Alice hiccups, she instantly turns back to her regular size.

Apparently it's not very surprising to her, since she just looks annoyed rather than startled, covering her mouth briefly before starting to grumble: "Blasted hiccups, I can't even seem to control them today!"

Della was a bit startled, but otherwise seemed to take it all in stride. "Neat party trick. Is this your regular size?"

[irrationally]

Thankfully Alice doesn't seem too worried about her not seeming surprised. If anything, it makes this much easier than having to explain the whole shrinking deal.

"I'd hope so." She remembers a time, long, long ago, when she was just a child and very much wondering the same thing as she kept shrinking and growing in Wonderland. "Thankfully for my head and neck's sake, I don't seem capable of growing any larger than this."

[sos_pilot]

"That's good... but are you 'cured' now?" Della tilts her head, curious. "Or do you think you'll shrink again?"

[irrationally]

"I should be fine the moment the hiccups go away."

Since it's usually a thing she can control, but sometimes you just accidentally get hiccups when drinking something too quickly.. And then this happens.

"Hopefully soon." Because she already sounds like she dreads dealing with this for long.

"How about we cure your hiccups?" Della saw no problems with this plan. "You just need a good scare!"
