Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

OOC: Examples of the type of outfits and such can be found here: costumes and
masks]

"With the family?"

Alice tries to imagine her family doing something like this. It's.. hard, for sure, and not just because they've been dead for so long. They were just always so domestic that she can't imagine them all going on a wild adventure like this together.

".. I do suppose you'd get used more easily to something like this if you were doing it already back home."

"That's right! My whole family is made of up adventurers and explorers. We travel the globe to solve mysteries and rewrite history!"

Ducktales, woo-oo.
irrationally: (there is another shore)

how dare you get that song in my head

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-19 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, hold on a second there. Alice has heard of impossible things before. She's seen impossible things happen. So she knows that could be very well meant literally, but that brings a whole different slew of problems with it.

(Hey, at least she seems interested in someone else for once. It's that natural curiosity rearing its head from deep down..)

"Why did you rewrite history? Did the people involved give you their permission?"

i'd say i'm sorry but i'm not

"Oh, no no no no, not literally, that never ends well." Della answers with a hand up. "I mean like changing the way we thought we knew history... like finding out a great hero was actually just a thief, or a lost civilization chose to hide itself away!"
irrationally: (are evil in their design)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-20 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's much better."

And reassuring, judging by the way Alice tensed up earlier and now seems to relax - as far as Alice can ever relax, really - on Della's shoulder.

"Most great heroes were just thieves anyway. "Heroes" love to pretend they are so much better than they actually are."

"Depends on what you define as a hero." Della never seemed to lose her cheer, even with Alice's negativity. "I'd say my family's pretty heroic! Not perfect, but pretty darn good."
irrationally: (this is the last time that)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-21 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"I think you might be just a tad biased there," she says, with no small amount of sarcasm. Not that she's necessarily doubting that Della's family could be actual heroes, but.. you know. It's just a fact that most people tend to be biased when it comes to their own family. Alice sure would be when it comes to saying nice things about them.

Suddenly she pauses.

"Ugh.. Put me down, I think I feel a hiccup coming on."

And she really doesn't want to crush Della's shoulder by suddenly turning back to full size right on top of it.

"Huh? ... Okay, if you say so."

Not sure what hiccuping had to do with height, Della put her hand to her shoulder so Alice could move, and then knelled down to put Alice on the floor.

"You feeling okay?"
irrationally: (the angels they burn inside for us)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-23 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm fine, it's just--"

She can't even finish the sentence. It's a good thing that she's already standing on the ground by that time, because right as Alice hiccups, she instantly turns back to her regular size.

Apparently it's not very surprising to her, since she just looks annoyed rather than startled, covering her mouth briefly before starting to grumble: "Blasted hiccups, I can't even seem to control them today!"

Della was a bit startled, but otherwise seemed to take it all in stride. "Neat party trick. Is this your regular size?"
irrationally: (who tonight will change your life)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-24 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankfully Alice doesn't seem too worried about her not seeming surprised. If anything, it makes this much easier than having to explain the whole shrinking deal.

"I'd hope so." She remembers a time, long, long ago, when she was just a child and very much wondering the same thing as she kept shrinking and growing in Wonderland. "Thankfully for my head and neck's sake, I don't seem capable of growing any larger than this."
sos_pilot: by <user name=noimpulsecontrol> (i'll be holding you so near)

[personal profile] sos_pilot 2020-06-25 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
"That's good... but are you 'cured' now?" Della tilts her head, curious. "Or do you think you'll shrink again?"
irrationally: (i was travelling through the past)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-27 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I should be fine the moment the hiccups go away."

Since it's usually a thing she can control, but sometimes you just accidentally get hiccups when drinking something too quickly.. And then this happens.

"Hopefully soon." Because she already sounds like she dreads dealing with this for long.

[personal profile] sos_pilot 2020-06-27 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"How about we cure your hiccups?" Della saw no problems with this plan. "You just need a good scare!"
irrationally: (but come and join the dance)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-29 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
Well, Alice supposes it can't hurt more than it already has. She'll do just about anything to not have to deal with random fits of shrinkage for the rest of the day.

Although there's one small problem with Della's plan..

"I don't scare easily though."

"Just going 'boo' isn't gunna work." Della cups her chin, thinking, thinking, thinking.

Then an idea pops into her head. Fear can come in many forms.

"I know... I'll go back into the party and tell everyone made-up embarrassing stuff about you!"

She wouldn't really - she's not that awful - but the "threat" was intended to scare Alice.
irrationally: (tell me what's my situation)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-30 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Della has the right idea of what could truly scare Alice. Huge monsters? No problem, she'll tackle it. Scary sights? She's seen plenty!

But social situations? Oh, boy. Those are terrifying, even the smallest and most insignificant among them.

"You wouldn't." But she doesn't sound so super sure about that..

[personal profile] sos_pilot 2020-06-30 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Jackpot.

"I'll tell them you ripped a hole in your dress and everyone can see your underwear!" This even came with wiggling "oohga booga booga" fingers. "And I'll follow it up with telling them you write really bad poetry, and I'll say what it is, making it up on the spot!"

The stuff of nightmares.
irrationally: (there's a porpoise close behind us)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-06-30 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Th-- That's ridiculous! No one would ever believe that!"

Actually, people might just believe Alice writes poetry during her free time, considering how much she looks like the resident high school senior goth.. It's the kind of hobby that'd suit her perfectly.

But it's starting to work, since she's getting visibly more worked up on the spot.

"I don't write poetry! Let alone bad poetry!"

Just one more push ought to do it, so Della thought.

"It'll be all mushy, and sappy, and not rhyme very well! I'll say you wrote 'purple' and tried to rhyme it with 'derp-le!"

Mwahahaha. So spooky.
irrationally: (goodbye to reality)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-07-01 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Alice lets out a frustrated sound.

"Who would even think of something so trite--"

But then she stops mid-sentence. Seemingly having a realisation.

".. I haven't had the urge to hiccup."

[personal profile] sos_pilot 2020-07-01 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Pleased, Della pulls back, all smiles.

"It worked! That's great! I gotta remember that one."
irrationally: (what are you made of)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-07-02 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
There's definitely no smile here. Maybe Alice should be grateful the other actually bothered to help her, but.. nope. She's way too embarrassed at this point to show even the slightest hint of gratitude. Instead she just groans.

"I can't believe you'd use a method that ridiculous for it. I would honestly prefer a monster at this point."
sos_pilot: by <user name=noimpulsecontrol> (if you could use)

[personal profile] sos_pilot 2020-07-02 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey, sometimes silly solves solutions." Della said with a shrug, still smiling. "But for the record, I'd never actually do it - say all that embarrassing stuff to everyone. Sometimes I don't think things through, but that doesn't mean there's no heart underneath the feathers."
irrationally: (or devils crawling here)

[personal profile] irrationally 2020-07-05 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
Alice gives Della a look.

One that says she doesn't trust one bit of that. Granted, it's nothing personal against Della as much as Alice just never trusts anything.. ever.. And she especially doesn't trust people when they're given opportunities to embarrass her!

"You better mean that." There's a heavy 'or else' underneath those words without it even needing to be said. "I don't take too kindly to people making fun of me."
