Party Time

Who: Everyone who wants to attend.
What: It's a party for all, but the pairing up part is for singles only.
When: Day 19 of Fiddlesticks
Where: Gym Carriage
Warnings: Who knows atm just Minako being Minako will add more as things happen.

[Minako figured she did the best she could for the party. Though she also wondered if perhaps she might not have that many people come. Sure she wanted to put singles together, but at the same time, she simply wanted people to have fun.

In the dressing carriage, people will find costumes and masks that were more gothic in nature. There was food and hopefully some forms of sweet treats for those looking for it as well as a variety of drink, mostly non-alcoholic.]

Inigo stares at Gladio. Slowly his face starts to grow more and more red as the grin completely drops off his face, and for a moment it seems as if Inigo's brain is just short-circuiting. He's frozen in place. It takes a good few moments before he's able to even speak again.

"I-- that's!" Did Gladio really just say that. Is he allowed to say that in public?! Is this even legal?! Inigo is so obviously flustered at the very mention of the word in a casual conversation. "W.. Why yes, it's great that she's having fun, but..!"

He apparently can't even find further words for it. This is too much for his shy little heart, no matter how much he pretends to flirt.

Gladio just blinked back at Inigo, more than a little surprised by just how flustered he'd gotten over a word. In the end Gladio just burst out laughing. It was amazing. Even Prompto wouldn't have had kittens in quite that way.

"Inigo, relax." He laughed and clapped the teen on the shoulder. "Calm down. It's just a word. I'm sure it's about... flowers or something stupid." He didn't believe it for a second and it was so in the smile he gave Inigo then. "We need to toughen you up, kiddo. If you can be brought to your knees just by the s-word? That's a bad weakness to have!"

"Oh, come on!"

He definitely still looks embarrassed even now - there's no way it'd fade that quickly, especially with how quickly he gets flustered - but there's something a little more pouty about it too now. Gladio technically does have a point, it's just..

"Now you're starting to sound just like Tony! 'What if the enemy suddenly starts complimenting you in the middle of battle?!' I don't think my enemies are going to discuss compliments or-- or that with me while we're fighting!"

Please, he'll perish at the thought....

Gladio smirked. "You don't know that. What if we find ourselves on a world of scantily clad women, who haven't seen a man in decades and take a liking to you?" He was teasing, of course. The chances were minimal, but funny to think about given Inigo's apparent denial.

"All these topless ladies pawing at you. "Oh, Inigo, you're so handsome!" Gladio even went so far as to pitch his voice a little higher for effect. "What if they beg you to come back home with them? You need to stay strong! You need to stand strong and confidently say "No thank you, Ma'am, I'm on a mission to save the world!" and then turn and walk away. Or join them and help repopulate. Whatever you feel is appropriate at the time."

Gladio's imitation of a girl is awful, but it doesn't matter. It hardly even reaches Inigo's brain anymore, considering it's far too busy only returning errors to him at the thought of topless ladies pawing at him. Please, no! He may pretend to flirt with girls all the time, but it's a coping mechanism, okay! He doesn't actually want to be near any topless girls, no thanks!

"I'm not going to help them repopulate!" His tone is practically little more than a squeak at this point. He's dying. Is this what death feels like? Gladio is murdering an innocent young man in cold blood! "I-- I mean, it's.. it's only natural for me to g-get attention from the ladies, but not in that sort of way..!"

Why did you have to tell him to flirt with girls to overcome his shyness, mom?!

Gladio couldn't help it, he smirked. "Alright, alright, so topless women isn't the way to go." There's a pause, no apology was forthcoming... Nope. Instead. "So how about topless guys? Hard to repopulate but would that be better? Bunch of good looking men pawing at you, since women are a problem?"

Personally, he would have gone for the women. His attraction to men was pretty limited. But to each their own! If Inigo was more comfortable with groups of men all over him then that was an image he would paint.

Unless that was also going to freak the kid out. In that case Gladio was going to be all kinds of amused.

Okay. But why does the guy asking him to imagine a bunch of topless guys have to be Gladio, huh? What cruel trick of fate is this? Couldn't some less attractive guy have asked him that so he doesn't have to imagine a whole bunch of topless Gladios? Pawing at him???

He's dying. He's gone. This is too much for poor Inigo's brain. Prompto, please get your boyfriend away from Inigo, there's an actual murder being committed.

If it was at all possible, Inigo's face starts to grow even more red. All the way up to his eartips.

"T-That's... I-I-I'm not sure if I'm ready to be that manhandled!"

"Who said you'd be manhandled?" Gladio asked in all innocence, eyes widening in feigned surprise that Inigo would be imagining such a thing. But there was a light in his dark eyes that was pure, mischievous amusement.

In the end Gladio couldn't take it and he burst out laughing. He moved and reached out a hand to ruffle Inigo's hair, grinning broadly at him.

"Relax, kid. I'm teasing you. I don't think we'll ever land on a planet like that. If we do, I'll protect you." His grin widened.

Yeah, because giant hunk Gladio protecting him from a bunch of other topless hunks is somehow helping! That might just be the day Inigo dies..

Thankfully it seems like a far-off possibility at best, so Inigo may live. For now. Even though he looks very much embarrassed as he's getting a hair ruffle from the other guy. His face is still all red - it'll probably take a while to fade after this.

"Is that your usual way of doing things? First teasing people and then pledging to protect them?" It's an attempt to tease Gladio right back, but it's a very, very weak one. Inigo has already been far outplayed here. Especially by that hair ruffle.

Gladio laughed so more and let his hand drop away. "Depends. I'm never worried people are gonna fall over in a dead faint when I tease them!" he pointed out, and brought his hand up again, only this time to lightly poke Inigo's cheek with the tip of his index finger. "Go any redder and I think you're gonna burst something."

It has been funny at first but he hadn't wanted to do the kid actual damage. Gladio's smile was genuine though. "I protect my friends, kid. Whether I tease them or not."

"It's really not going to get any less red if you point it out!" At least he can afford to say that now, since it seems Gladio has already found pretty much all of Inigo's embarrassment buttons.. It's not like he can make his case worse here.

.. Surely.

At least he doesn't seem offended in the slightest (not truly so, anyway, beyond dramatics). He mostly just seems very flustered.

"Besides, in that case you could start with protecting my dig--!" He stops mid-sentence, as if the full impact of Gladio's words only hits him in the middle of his dramatics. Some of the red on his cheeks fades into more of a pink as he stares at Gladio with some curiosity in his eyes. ".. you can't just tease me and then suddenly say something so sweet. It's unfair!"

"But it's cute." As he being mean? Maybe. Truthful sure, but he couldn't help it, Inigo was being very adorable and silly and he was kind of weak to that. He just couldn't help himself.

His teasing smile had changed into something a little warmer now but just as wide.

"Can't I? I didn't see that in the rule book." A chuckle. "Unless it's not true?" Maybe he wrong? Maybe Inigo didn't see them as friends? It would be fine if not, it just meant that Gladio would have to work harder.

Inigo pouts just a bit.

"It's in the rule book. It's most definitely in the rule book."

But the pout fades just as quickly as Gladio continues. It's not often that someone else proclaims them friends and then has to question it from his reaction - usually it's the other way around, with Inigo harassing the other person into friendship until they just give in.

But being on that end of things has learned him he should never wait or hesitate when someone says something like this.

"But-- Of course we are." He thinks? He'd like to be friends. Gladio is nice. And cool. And kind of intimidating when he gets angry, but that's a good thing as long as it's someone who's on your side, right? "Even when I have to put up with you making fun of me." It's the weakest complaint possible.

"Sorry, kid. That's the risk you run when you're friends with me. Ask Prompto." He laughed. He was a tease, it couldn't be helped. Gladio felt it was a good way to relax and unwind, and it was good for a laugh, so long as the other person didn't mind of course. And Inigo was a good guy. He could take the teasing with little more than a blush and a little flailing, but he wouldn't push it too far. Just in case. Gladio knew well enough not to take a joke too far.

He's taking deep breaths. Deep breaths. Hopefully those will be enough to at least fully force the blush off his face so he doesn't look like a total idiot for the rest of the conversation..

So thankfully he at least looks a bit more calmed down again by the time he's listening to what Gladio says.

"But you and Prompto aren't.." He pauses and stops, making a vague (non-dirty, thank you!!) hand gesture. ".. you know? Not just.. friends? That means he must be getting special treatment!"

"... You know I didn't just meet him and fall into bed with him, right?" Gladio asked with a smile. "We were friends before he started getting special treatment."

And even then, Gladio still thought of Prompto as a friend as well as a lover. He still teased him. Nothing had changed about that. It was just now he could get away with kissing the hell outta him as well!

"Yes, but he is getting special treatment now, isn't he? Oh, to be that lucky..!"

Inigo sighs. Dramatically.

And then just about two seconds later his two braincells finally catch onto what that could have sounded like, and the blush that only just left his face is back. Once again.

"-- Lucky to not get teased, I mean! Sweet Naga! I'm just going to stop talking. No more words from me."

Gladio's brows shot up and his grin was back, as soon as Inigo started to blush he burst out laughing. This kid... Was he aware of how cute he was? Though it was a shame his Foot In Mouth Syndrome seemed to be a terminal case.

"Oh damn... Inigo, you... really need to start thinking through what you're about to say before you say it!" He said once he'd finished laughing, but there was still a very cheerful tone to Gladio's voice. "And who the hell said Prompto doesn't get teased? I tease him all the time. Ask him some time."

Almost as if he's trying to provide evidence that he truly doesn't think before he speaks, he does it.. yet again.. Though it honestly isn't on purpose!

"But that's so.. so hard! Are you telling me people think before they say anything? All the time? How aren't people getting headaches?!" (Maybe it'd help if he had more than two active braincells at any given time.)

.. At least Prompto might understand him. That guy feels a little more on Inigo's level.. Maybe it's why they get along so well. Although Gladio seems like a good guy too! But just.. way above him on the intelligence scale, apparently.

"I'll make sure to ask him about it though. Next time I see him! I'm going to confirm you aren't just trying to pull the wool over my eyes!"

Was this how Prompto thought all the time? Gladio wanted to laugh again. He didn't think that Inigo would react the same way Prompto did to his methods of calming the blonde down. So he needed to find a different way.

So he moved to lift his hands and drop them into Inigo's shoulders and leaned down so that he was looking directly into the teen's eyes. Gladio was smiling, there was actual affection in that smile, his eyes were calm, warm chocolate brown. Nothing threatening here!

"Inigo... Chill. I'm sorry I teased you. But I promise, I do it to everyone I consider a friend, even Prompto. Especially Prompto. And yeah, thinking before you say something is a thing people do. But..." It was cute when people like Inigo didn't do it, and it was good for a laugh. Gladio didn't say that though, he didn't want to set him off again! "... You're good how you are. So relax."

Thank Naga there's nothing actually threatening about it or Inigo might just have screamed at those hands suddenly coming down on his shoulders. But even though the hands suddenly being there in the middle of his freakout is a little startling, Inigo loses all instinct to shriek when he looks at Gladio's face and sees that smile. It is friendly and weirdly calming..

But then Gladio just has to say that last part, and Inigo can feel a blush growing on his cheeks that's spreading all the way to his ears. Why this, he's so bad with actual compliments...

"Ah.. um.." Thankfully this time it's not a flustered outward freakout as much as it's a flustered inward freakout? He looks pretty calm on the outside, just.. very, very shy. His eyes dart around for a moment before his gaze returns to meet Gladio's own.

".. Thanks. That's really sweet to say. And.. uh, you don't need to say sorry for teasing me. It's alright, really. You're a sweet guy, Gladio. I know that even when I'm panicking, so don't worry."

Damn but that blush really was cute! Inigo needed to stop that. It would get him into so much trouble being that cute.

Gladio smiled and let his hands drop away from Inigo's shoulders, but not before he lifted one to gently ruffle his hair.

"Glad you remember that. But I'll try and hold myself back. I don't want you having a heart attack or something, Prom'd never forgive me for killing his friend."

"It's appreciated."

Because contrary to how Inigo looks when he works himself up as often as he does, he would prefer to not have a heart attack either, thanks!

There's no real resistance to the hair ruffle though. Inigo may actually like those more than he's willing to admit, considering he thinks it's probably not as appropriate for him to love those so much when he's supposed to be all tough and mature.. but he can't help but like the feeling of Gladio's hand on his head for a moment.

"I should get going-- my boyfriend is waiting for me." There's a smile on his face as he says it. "Do enjoy the party though, Gladio."

Gladio grinned and gave a cheerful nod, accepting that answer, since it didn't seem that Inigo was just making an excuse because he'd teased him too much.

"Alright, kid. You go have fun! I'll just wait here for my dumb blonde to finally make an appearance." He was laughing, but there was real tenderness in his voice when speaking of his blonde. "I'll see you around, Inigo."
