Blue Meeting:
Who: Gladio + Blue Team and Friends.
Where: Dining carriage. (Change of venue, larger space)
When: Grasshopper 15th after lunch.
What: The first Blue Team meeting with the new Leadership in place.
Warnings: Unknown. Possible cuteness. Snack induced jealousy. Will update if something comes up!
To say that Gladio was nervous would be an understatement. He hadn't been able to get much sleep the night before worrying if this would work out the way he had planned. Would people be receptive to what he asked? Would people even come to this meeting? He had been assured by several people there would be at least some (who could resist lovingly prepared snacks?) but it remained to be seen.
Gladio sat at a table, there was a notepad and a pencil in his hand. He would be taking notes of things he deemed important.
Once people started filtering in, Gladio began to feel somewhat better. Calmer. He watched them milling about with a smile. It was only when he thought there was enough that he rose and gave a call to get people's attention.
"First, I just wanna thank everyone for coming. I know it was short notice, but between the mission and platform day coming up, my hands were tied.
In future I'm going to do my best to have a meeting like this before every big mission, once we get the info. I don't think a little organisation can hurt. And... with that in mind. The reason I wanted to get you all here. I want everyone to get to know each other. And I want to learn more about you all. I'd like, if you're all willing, to assign simple roles within the team to each person for missions. If you don't want to be part of that, just let me know. That's your choice." He smiled wider. "If you do... I'll get to you. If you've any questions, I'm open to them. Piccolo and WangJi are also here to answer your questions and concerns. Not just here and not just for missions, but any you have. We're here for you."
With that his smile became a grin. "Now... I know two of our number have been working hard to make delicious snacks, so do me a favour? Make them happy and dig in! Enjoy them and... chat. Mingle. Get to know your fellow blue. We're a small team, lets make us the best team!"

"So you wanted to 'get to know us', right? What exactly are you interested in?" Her words and tone didn't quite match up to her apparent age, but most people just assumed she was a fairly precocious grade schooler.

"Alright, Ai it is. I'm Gladio. And yeah, I wanted to get to know you all." He glanced without moving his head, down at the note book in front of himself, before he looked back at the girl in front of him.
"How about you just tell me a bit about yourself first?" He thought that would be a simple start, breaking the ice, so to speak. Find out a bit about her and work from there.

"Ai Haibara, 7 years old. First year student at Teitan Elementary School in Beika." She rattles that off like she's used to it. Which to be fair, she is - she's done a lot of police interviews. "I'm part of a group of children called the Detective Boys. Most of our cases are finding lost cats or delivering class memos, though."
If you ignore the several dozen kidnappings and murders they've solved and crime rings they've broken up. But that wasn't something she was going to willingly divulge.

He made a few notes in his pad.
"... And how do you think that'll help us during missions?" Gladio asked, not looking up for a moment. "The last mission? Can you tell me what you did?"

She pauses for a moment, then continues. "Last mission I went with Orange Team's mission because it seemed the least dangerous, but I'm sure you've heard how that turned out." In other words, it was going to be harder to convince the people she knew that a mission would be safe, not when the safest option last mission ended up with the entire group attacked by monsters. Somebody had even been injured protecting Haibara.
"As for what I did, I mostly poked around in computers. After the monsters started attacking, I helped repair the lights. Nothing too complex, but small hands make for good detailed work."

Whether she stays on the train, joined another team or stayed with them, he wasn't going to force her hand. He couldn't guarantee her safety if she stayed on the train or joined another team, but he could sure as hell try if she remained on blue. But he also had to admit that he would rather have the younger, untrained kid stay as far away from the action as he could get them. That didn't always work though.

Still, even counting the skills she wasn't telling, there wasn't much use for biochemistry on dangerous missions. The only reason she tagged along last time is because she wanted to check out the lab.
...But she also couldn't say for sure she wouldn't go on any more missions. There were reasons she might want to go, and the possibility she could help was one of them.
"Well, if I do go, I'll listen to your instructions on how to stay safe."

"... Minako will be dealing with our supplies, before and during missions. Is that something you think you'd be interested in doing, if missions aren't your thing? Helping her and some of the others? Are you any good at organising? Cooking? Things like that?"
