Fight Club Open Log! (Catch-All For the Month of Grasshopper)
This is an OPEN LOG for anyone to join. Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.
This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users are also extremely encouraged to use the practice dummies and other facilities as well! After all, they also need to practice and also get used to having physical fighters near them as they spellcast. And vice versa. Plus, some people use both abilities in battle!
Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!
Various characters will be around to help answer questions icly if you like (I have 47 on offer for starters) and if you have any ooc questions or comments drop a line over here! An ic announcement was also made by 47 if your character needs an impetus for heading towards the gym. c:
And remember: you do you and have fun!!!

- For a basic set-up consider this: the new training gym has all sorts of useful equipment for physical fitness such as mats, soft hand held pads for training with, training dummies, some balancing beams and even a springboard. There are large blocks for making obstacle courses or creating a unique battlefield, and two climbing apparatus next to the wall. Many people are found here daily training, maintaining physical fitness, and teaching others how to handle combat in one fashion or another. Others come and go more sporadically but all are welcome and everyone (typically) shares everything with relative ease. Many of the usual suspects will help accommodate whoever asks for help. Generally, there is just a lot of activity and a busy but fluid schedule around all the equipment and space provided.

No, seriously. He made it hard. Danny wasn't completely off the hook though. Piccolo would have him work on that, too, just while he was learning in between those times.
"I can start with forms and proper technique with punching, kicking, and other attacks. Repetition is key to learning and maintaining balance and effectiveness in true battle."
no subject
He looks a bit confused, but interested in what was involved in all of this.
"I don't really know what is involved of that, but I'll give it a try." Especially if it meant he would spend less time getting beat up by the new ghost of the week.

"Right. No guarantees." Prepare for a fitness test, Danny. It's coming, eventually.
"Good. I'll show you the basic stance we'll be using as a base. Then demonstrate proper form for the various types of punches, kicks, and other moves." A beat. "Let's get started."
Danny had about two seconds to object if he wasn't ready before Piccolo just went straight into his first lesson.
no subject
"Wait, we're starting right now?"
no subject
Piccolo eyed him pointedly. There was no point in coming to look if one wasn't prepared. At least that was his opinion. No one tell him it was perfectly fine to look around before buying.
Or...do. It might stop him. It might also come with a scowl but he wouldn't teach someone who wasn't ready to take it seriously.
no subject
...He had no idea what he was getting into.
no subject
"Good. The basics will be simple enough. But they take time and effort to truly master. Follow my example."
Piccolo proceeded to show him a simple combat stance, arms up for protection and speed of movement, legs ready for movement but steady for balance.
no subject
"Question. If I was fighting in mid air, would I still keep my legs like this?"
no subject
Which went hand in hand with his answer to the question actually. "While combating, yes. Your body will grow used to these stances and know how to use them to the best of your ability. That's not to say you can't switch things up whenever it's useful. But a kick will have more force if taken from a proper stance--even in the air." He hummed thoughtfully and then added. "I'll show you some examples of both later. For now, let's concentrate on the lesson at hand."

"...That..might or might not matter at that point. We can work with that if you like so you can find a good balance for it." If he realize the intangibility was a thing he might suggest being on guard to use that as an asset. But he could work with what he knew if/when they got around to it.
