Fight Club Open Log! (Catch-All For the Month of Grasshopper)
This is an OPEN LOG for anyone to join. Make toplevels to your heart's content and tag around to each other freely. Whether your character is offering to teach or wanders in looking for someone to get them involved (or just to watch), this is a post for you! You may use this for any sort of open or even private threads if you so wish.
This log is for anyone who wants to participate in exercising, training, sparring, and teaching lessons. Some of the "classes" also involve things like yoga, meditation, and easier self defense mechanisms for anyone to learn. Magic users are also extremely encouraged to use the practice dummies and other facilities as well! After all, they also need to practice and also get used to having physical fighters near them as they spellcast. And vice versa. Plus, some people use both abilities in battle!
Basically, if you want to learn new skills that could be useful on missions, come take a peek!
Various characters will be around to help answer questions icly if you like (I have 47 on offer for starters) and if you have any ooc questions or comments drop a line over here! An ic announcement was also made by 47 if your character needs an impetus for heading towards the gym. c:
And remember: you do you and have fun!!!

- For a basic set-up consider this: the new training gym has all sorts of useful equipment for physical fitness such as mats, soft hand held pads for training with, training dummies, some balancing beams and even a springboard. There are large blocks for making obstacle courses or creating a unique battlefield, and two climbing apparatus next to the wall. Many people are found here daily training, maintaining physical fitness, and teaching others how to handle combat in one fashion or another. Others come and go more sporadically but all are welcome and everyone (typically) shares everything with relative ease. Many of the usual suspects will help accommodate whoever asks for help. Generally, there is just a lot of activity and a busy but fluid schedule around all the equipment and space provided.

Ah, crap. Was that a trap?

Yeah, she totally fell into his trap. There was no getting out now either. His grin told the story that he wasn't going to take a 'no' now that he had her on the hook.
If he was going to look after her then he might as well make sure she could look after herself whenever he wasn't around. It'd be better than how Evan always ended up in trouble without a lick of skill in him at all.

Well, she was gonna do nothing, because as they'd just established, she was far outranked in the Shoving category. Most categories, actually. It wasn't that she didn't want to learn, but his attitude... She sniffed.
"You'd better be a great teacher. My expectations are really high nowadays-!"

He was still grinning. Shit talking was no big deal to him. Honestly, it was familiar, fun. If she could take it then that was a bonus--for him.

"Who's shit?" Her huff was almost theatrical. If he knew, he knew. She figured he wouldn't rat her out. "Haven't you heard the saying: the faults of the student are the faults of the teacher? That means even if I mess up, it's your fault."
no subject
Maybe a little overboard with the theatrics but Reno loved them, he couldn't help himself. She wasn't helping with her own. He just played right back into it.

But she subsided, to hide her nerves. People had told her she was clever, but 'strong' had never been one of her qualities. Well... if he wasn't impressed, she could always look for another teacher, she supposed. Even if it would be a huge pain to do so, when she wanted this one.
"What's the first lesson, teacher?"
no subject
Maybe still over the top but he sounded a little more subdued, a little more serious, as if he were simply telling the truth as it were. Which was absolutely accurate.
But he didn't expect her to be a true Turk. He could teach her the basics behind it though. Teach her what she'd learn before even attempting to join their ranks, more like. Besides, he could feel her irritation in the air and wasn't going to push her buttons too hard right now. It was only fun when it was all games. This had turned into less of a game at some point.
He straightened a little. "First lesson is... don't question your teacher." He said and immediately stuck his tongue out at her to lessen the admonishment. The real lessons could start after a bit of levity.
