It's little things like this that remind her that, despite appearances, Allen is in ways trying to figure out these kinds of things just as much as Alice herself is. How to deal with other people, how to deal with forming bonds, forming friendships. It always seems like Allen would be better at it, more well-adjusted, but sometimes he says these little things - I am sure is a sign of trust - that make Alice feel so much less out of her depth.
So even though she's a little flustered, it makes her regain some mental footing as she slightly nods.
".. Right. I just.." She shakes her head, trying to explain herself better. "No one has ever said anything like that to me."
No one ever trusted her. If anything, people just distrusted her. Constantly. Because she was too volatile, too violent. A threat. A risk.
