A new platform [intro post September]
For those on the train
“Good morning passengers, it is day one of the month of Bassoon.” The train announces the morning the month changes. It seems the train counts months in days of thirty. Team Points have been updated on the system.
The day continues as most days do, chores, eating, getting ready for another day. But those who suspect that a change of month may bring something else are correct. It is only an hour or two later that there is another announcement.
“Shortly arriving into a designated void platform. Exit from void imminent.”
By now they should know to hold on as the train jerks and jolts. There is only fog outside the windows but the train soon comes to a stop. The doors hiss open.
As they exit into the fog they may notice Evie exiting from the luggage carriage door. Much like Hibiki the last time they were on a platform. She leaves the train, backpack on her back as she walks through the station. She heads no call, reacts to no words and cannot be stopped as she walks to the ticket barrier and disappears through it.
Strange. But even stranger still is that there on the platform that whole time is Evie. Dressed in purple, backpack on back, with her are others. Waiting for the train.
For new arrivals
At first all they can see if steam. Billowing around them as they come to their senses. They are standing, in clothes that are not their own, styles they might not even recognise. They are carrying a rucksack on your back. For a moment it seems to just be them, alone in the white haze but then the steam begins to fade and they realise they aren’t alone.
The platform is not very large, but it hold twelve figures all facing the tracks, all wearing similar clothing. The tracks stretch left and right into steam, or perhaps fog. Nothing can be seen to either side. There is a wall around the platform and the only entrance is a ticket barrier. It cannot be open, nor do there seem to be any staff.
What there is, is a train. Jet black and gleaming where it stands on the rails.Voidtrecker Express is emblazoned in the engine in gold. There is a hiss as the doors slide open.
Out step a selection of people, some less human than others, wearing clothes just like those worn by those on the platform.
The Train
The doors hiss open. Those from the train may encourage those on the platform to board. It’s not like there is anywhere else to go and even if there was, you feel a pull. A need to board, a feeling that staying on the platform would not be a good thing.
Once on board there is lots to explore. Passengers both old and new will hopefully be delighted to see the boredom of this train journey is somewhat alleviated by the introduction of a game carriage. Plenty of games, both familiar and new to play with your new travelling companions.
Each ICP shows the same message. If Red team go and look they will find a box in the luggage compartment that contains their prize. A dralite themed cake lolly each. There are enough for the new members of Red team too, share in your teams previous success!
The food stores have been topped up with new fresh food. Salmon has taken over as the primary ingredient of choice. Hopefully everyone likes fish!
New passengers will find their tickets allow them into their cabins. They may need to negotiate for beds, especially if they want a top bunk!
Room is tight but there are storage cubbies at the head of each bed, beds fold up and the bottom bunks double as benches for the small table. There is storage under those benches and you will hopefully find a pillow for your bed if it has not been nabbed by a roommate, there are also spare blankets for if it gets cold.
Departure
A second horn sounds to encourage any stragglers and the doors slide shut. For those who boarded two weeks ago they will know what is coming next.
The train sets off, the fog obscuring the view as it picks up speed.
"Welcome aboard, passengers of the Voidtrecker Express.” A female-coded artificial sounding voice echoes throughout the train. "Please take the time to read the passenger information displayed on the Information and Communication points and familiarise yourself with the layout and emergency exits."
The train begins to tilt, leaving the ground and rising up into the fog filled sky.
"Entrance into Voidspace imminent. New passengers are advised to remain seated."
Hopefully someone warns you that you really want to heed that warning because a moment later there is a shudder, a jolt, a lurch to the left. A flash of light, colourful and blinding.
As quick as it happens it is done. The train seems to steady. The fog from the windows is gone now, replaced with a kaleidoscope of ever changing colours.
Welcome to voidspace.

Welcome to voidspace.

i shall let the player know!
"What all has been tried to get through, so that I don't do something someone else already has? And what were the results, if any at all?" Spoken like a true scientist.

"I imagine the first attempts were trying to find anything to take the wall apart, but I would not know. Tony used his suit and tried to fight his way through with his repulsor beams. That reflected back from the wall." And hit Renee. "Renee attempted to punch the wall - she has some sort of power that allows her to concentrate the energy of the punch and focus it. She broke her wrist and the power reversed and knocked her back across the cabin." She hit the reverse wall of the cabin pretty hard.
"I haven't tried to shoot the wall or do anything more aside from that because of the results they had. No point in embedding one of my bullets inside myself." Or set herself on fire again. "If you're a magic user I would advise caution, and maybe make sure someone knows what you are doing and that the cabin is clear. We have someone on board who has healing magics, and we have a medical cabin if something goes wrong." Usually interacting with this wall with some kind of force ends up going wrong.

Instead, Evie listens, nodding politely on occasion and turning to look at the wall some more. Studying it carefully and even running a perfectly manicured hand over it to search for any sign that anything anyone did left a scratch. But there was nothing, and that made Evie uncomfortable.
"So, no dice from anyone that tried." Goblin refuse.
She's not the swearing type, but from the way her face contorts in frustration, there might be a rude word or two on her tongue that would make Harry laugh if she let a single one of them out.
But she won't, because princesses don't swear.
Turning her attention to the book in hand, she shakes her head.
"No. I'm not much of a magic user. It's something I know, sure, but I lean more towards potions. Spells aren't as easy for me, and this is my best friends book. It's almost nothing but spells, and the potions inside are dangerous." Sh shrugs one shoulder, holding the book in both hands as she studies it's purple and green cover.
"Her mother wrote it. She was a terrible being, so everything in here is meant to deceive or hurt or worse. I won't be trying anything in here unless I know it won't hurt anyone and I don't really trust anything inside this book."

Ash listened to the explanation of the book, finding the response curious. To find they had a true alchemist on board was a nice surprise. The owner of the book was also interesting - the idea of passing spell books down wasn't too strange, but why wasn't this person the original owner? That felt a little off to Ash.
"It is good to know we will have a proper alchemist on board." Not to discount Tony at all - he'd been doing an excellent job with everything he's worked on - but it would be nice to have someone who focused more on that helping out. "...Why do you have someone else's spell book? Where I am from people don't tend to share them." When possible. There have been instances where they've been shared, but it was very rare. Ash was appreciative of the honesty about the contents of the book, though. Being honest went very far with Ash - she cared less about the morals and ethics, and more about simply being honest about what you were doing.

She looks at the book again, running fingers over the leather work, noting that there were still some bookmarked spells from when Mal had been using so much magic to keep herself part of the 'in crowd', thinking Ben would like her if she was like everyone else in Auradon.
"I think I might be able to rework some of the potions. Take the harm out of them and make them useful. Healing potions or something like that."
no subject
Her ears picked up with the mention of reworking potions. Not just an alchemist, but one with great enough skill to modify potions and change what they do was something that really impressed Ash. She was not so good with creation of things that weren't her work on the weaponry.
"We may have need for healing potions. With how much damage this wall has caused, you know." Her voice was a tad more light with the comment, a little closer to a joke. "More seriously, I imagine that is a skill that will be quite helpful. I have heard rumor that Sarai, the dragon woman with horns and scales, has an interest with plants and their properties if you find yourself in need of help."
Her ears seemed to spring up as she realized she hadn't even introduced herself. "How rude of me - my name is Ash. May I ask what yours is?" She would offer a hand if Evie did, or otherwise she would simply not.
